I received two three packs of fast finishing photoperiod fem seeds from Twenty20 Mendocino in their Free the Seeds 2025 promo: Early Frost and Summer Lemons. Decided I would try an outdoor grow this summer, but due to my location in the north, I was going to only run autos to avoid an early fall wrecking the crop. After getting these seeds and learning about how they flower in September outdoors, I wanted to give these a shot.
I sowed one of each cultivar. The Summer Lemons came up after a few days and I transplanted her into soil in a solo cup today. The Early Frost was taking a long time to emerge so I sowed a second seed. Today after I did that, the first seedling emerged :D. She came up through the peat plug instead of back up the hole that the seed went down, which I would guess made it take longer. Assuming the second seed germinates also, I will either keep them both and plant three or give one away.
