Lemon AK is in the building and has been placed into some tap water fro 24 hours starting (3/19/2019) and will then spend another 24 hours in a damp paper towel in plastic bag before she's popped into some Fox Farm's Froggy Frog and Ocean Forest soil. Deep purple baby veins lookin gooood
Week 2 complete and these girls are already off to a better start than the last round because of better soil and understanding of their response to LED lighting versus MH/HPS. They got a little feed this week to promote root growth / vitality. So far so good. Happy growing!
I really like the way this round has been developing so far. I raised the lights about 4-6 inches and I think they are going to do a lot of vertical growth this week. They are looking about 1 to 2 weeks ahead of the Blue Dream'Matic, West Coast OG, and Blackberry in the poorer quality soil. The higher quality fox farm soil (from a better distributor) and an increase in the amount of perlite is facilitating increased oxygen to the roots, the roots ability to navigate through the soil, and therefore overall plant health. I think this round will even yield more than the previous round just because of the soil alone. Her leaves are already more sativa like than the zkittlez, small and thinner. No nutrients will be given next week other than Recharge (not a nutrient) to help her absorb what's already stored and built up in the soil. She will be watered somewhere in the 6 pH range.
Dang this girl shot up on me. 240% growth increase in vertical height. She will either hit preflower next week or full fledged flower. The better soil quality is really moving these girls along at a healthier pace with improved oxygenation and nutrient uptake within the root system. Just gave her Recharge this week before introducing flower nutes early this week,
Officially in pre-flower. She grew approximately 10 inches this week although she about 4 inches cuz I tied her down. There's a much greater internodal spacing with this girl compared to the others, but I expect that from a sativa. So far so good. I'm avoiding doing much defoliation this round cuz I feel like i stunted the growth of the BDM and WCOG last round trying to maximize light to the bud sites. I'm putting a greater emphasis on leaf tucking with the girls this round so that the flowers are getting direct light and so that she maintains the maximal surface area for photosynthetic activity. She was fed at the end of last week and will only be given Recharge this week.
Okay so this tall girl is starting to fatten up and her stems are smelling like straight lemon zest, love it. I am impressed and happy with her so far. She was fed earlier this week and has taken well to it.
We continue to move along smoothly. She’s getting some cool coloration in her leaves. I’m thinking another 3 weeks at least until she gets the chop. She smells so sweet and lemony
She was a pleasure to watch grow with her true sativa like fan leaves. with leaves this thin, I try not to do much defoliation as light penetration is already optimal. I want to give this girl more attempts as I have switched back to the MH and HPS lighting. I harvested this girl forever ago but apparently the update on that round didnt go through.
