Abraxasbot1812 Im aware my set up is not perfect, and my only history of growing is two sadly ignored plants I grew as a college student. But this is my shot at doing this as well as I can within my economic limitations. I want this diary to be a record of an experimental attempt at growing on my bedroom closet. Lets hope for the best. So I started on May the 8th by soaking 2 seeds (Feminized Moby Dick by local breeder) on a cup with 250ml of water +a splash (5 ml) of hydrogen peroxide for 16 hours (as recomended by vendor). After soaking I picked seeds with tweezers and placed them inside a damp paper towel. The folded paper towel was placed inside a ziplock bag with a dice (to create air pocket). I put the bag inside the water heater closet at my apartment to ensure warm enviroment. 24 hours later (May 9) I checked and found both seeds had popped and I placed them in a 17cm x 17cm pot with a mixture of 3 parts pot soil+ 1 part worm castings. I then watered the pot lightly ( with just a shot or two) and placed half bottle domes over the planted seed. They are now under an 18-6 light cycle. As I write this, the date is May the 10th. Soil was kind of dry so I gave them a bit more water. I fear overwatering them, so I might look that up later. Lets hope they both sprout soon! :)

Abraxasbot1812 Seedlings popped last night (May 11). I guess soil humidity was fine, I kept it damp , but never watered the pot significantly. I'm quite impressed with how fast they sprouted, considering they were germinated just 2-3 days ago. Today I adjusted the light's height, it is now 60cm/24in away from the plants. I hope they won't get too lanky. Overall I'm very happy with the germination process. Will be reading about watering quantity in this seedling stage. I'll try to keep posting to this journal every monday to monitor the progress of both plants. Until next week!

Abraxasbot1812 First week of veg. It's grown quite a bit since last time. We already can see the first section of nodes and true leafs. Very excited about it's development . The plan is to transplant them into their final pots when they reach the 4th section of nodes, and topping after recovery. Overall I'm really pleased with the process so far. I'm watering once or twice a week. Still not doing full watering with overflow, but I keep the soil moist. I lower the water's ph with a drop of lemon juice, but I'm not giving it nutrients yet. I don't want to burn them so I will wait until the first month is over before feeding. Until next week!

Abraxasbot1812 Both plants have grown a lot this week. The second set of nodes now shows full leafs, and we can see the third "floor" growing rapidly. Plants are almost as wide as their pots. I will wait until I can see the 4th floor of nodes fully open and at that point they will be transplanted to 5 gallon pots (which will be their final home) . I think this will happen aprox at the end of the week. After transplanting they will rest for a bit for recovery, and after that I will try topping the 5th floor of nodes. I hope to apply lst too, but I will be trying that after the topping recovery. This week both plants were thirsty and I gave them full wattering (with a bit of overflow). I'm starting to apply Biostar (amino acids stimulant), recomended by grow vendor. Only 2 ml/l just once a week. They have not shown any signs of burning. After transplanting I'll experiment with full feeding. I'm impressed with this week's growth and feel very excited about next week.

Abraxasbot1812 Last monday the plant started it's 4th week of life. The previous day I transplanted both plants to 5 gallon pots, raised the light to about 16 inches from the top and let them recover for a few days. The transplanting process was very simple and both plants recovered soon without any issues. A few days later I decided to top them (everything above 4th level of nodes) and again let it recover. Both plants require more water now and once a week I'm feeding them with growth stage fertilizer sold by grow vendor (the brand is local but it follows the same 3 stages I've found on most brands: Growth, Flower and Bloom mixes). I was very excited to see the effect of topping. It was a busy week so I was unable to post here on time. Today I will also share the results on the 5th week

Abraxasbot1812 One week and a bit after topping the plants look way lushier (maybe that's just my perception). The top nodes are getting stronger and thicker, so I believe last week topping was succsessful. I have noticed that lower leafs are yellowing a bit, maybe they don't get as much light as the top of the plant. I will be trying to perform some lst this week, and maybe that will help. Kinda nerveous about the lst procedure, but I don't want to wait too long before starting it. Also, soon the plants will be too big for that section of my closet and I will have to choose one to keep there and another will have an experimental stage of veg outside. I hope the transition to 12h-12h won't make it flower too soon. But I'm ok with the fact that this grow will be highly unpredictable. We will discover this soon.

Abraxasbot1812 This are photos from the second day on week 6. Last week I bit the bullet and went ahead with LST. The results are impressive, the plants are getting really bushy and smelly. I have 2 worries now. The first one is that one of the plants already shows preflowers (clearly female), but the larger plant shows what might be a male preflower. But it is just one, and it might be a calyx in formation. So far the pant hasn't shown any more signs of preflowers. I hope this week it finally shows sex clearly. The second worry in my mind is that the clearly female plant (smaller one) looks kind of short and "under the weather" compared to the other one. It is way bushier tho, so It might just not get as much light. I positioned them in a different way this time, maybe this way it will get more light on lower branches. Soon my closet space will be too small for both plants and I will decide which one stays on the closet and which will be treated as a house plant next to the window. I'm lucky enough to get a lot of light through the day and have the advantage of getting 12/12 regular natural sun. I think this might make window plant flower early, and I find that interesting. I might even clean another closet and try moving the plant there at night to force complete darkness and a clear cut cycle. Based on this week's growth I think this big change might happen around the ending of the 8th week (also I don't want to do it before 2 months of veg) So I still have the rest of 6th week, 7th and 8th to try and grow them as big as possible within my closet space, and discover any more preflowers. For now I just hope both plants turn out to be healthy females. PS: plants are quite big, but almost completely tied down to the side. The main stem on both plants is around 20-24 cm long but the tied down bushes are only around 17-19 cm tall.

Abraxasbot1812 This is the start of week 7 into veg. I've kept my efforts on low stress training, and I keep finding improvements on their growth and fullness. The only issue I've found is that with the rapid growth of both plants and the reduced space on the closet, the leafs get too close to the light. And this causes a bit of tip burn. I've adjusted the height twice this week, but soon I will need more space. I wrote about this on the last entry. Next week I'll be gone on a trip for the full seven days, so I will fully water the plants before leaving, and might get a friend to check on them just in case they get too dry before I come back. But I don't think this will be necesary. Everything will be fine as long as the timer does it's job. I have confidence in this. When I get back I think I'll find enough growth to get the larger plant to its new window spot. Then I'll find out if this triggers an "early" flower stage. I'm excited about this too. Plants still get growth nutrients +aminoacid supplements once a week. The lenght of both plants's stem, base to higher cola is around 30 cm. But folded down on lst both plants are around 25 cm tall. This shows lots of growth since last week. I'm very excited to be done with the second month of veg. This will mark a big change for the "experimental window plant", and the start of the last month of veg for "closet plant". I've loved the process so far. Till next week! :) PS: Plants are less smelly now, or I've grown too used to it. I still don't know how bad the smell will get on flowering stage.

Abraxasbot1812 Today is the first day on the plant's 8th week into vegetation. The stem on the larger plant is around 36 cm long. I have both plants on a really tight space inside the closet now, and this caused them to grow tall again, so the effects of LST are not showing too much. Today I fiddled with the lst wire one last time before separating the plants.I missed a pic with both plants in their current setup this time, I will take one before separating them next week. The current set up is not ideal. But they only have to make it through this week and next monday the larger plant will become a window/house plant, and we will give closet plant all the space it needs. I'm excited on the experiment of the houseplant because it shows a nice size (which I hope will improve even more this week). I'm hopefull. Reading previous entrys on this journal I see that I used to be worried about the flowering of house plant, I'm way more enthusiastic about experimenting now. I'll be away on vacation this week, so I fully watered and fed both plants before leaving. Coming back will be an interesting surprise!

Abraxasbot1812 I'm a bit late on the journal post this week. Last week I was away on vacation. When I got home both plans were fine, if a bit thirsty. They were way to cramped on the closet, so I immediately took one out and watered them with nutrients. It's been a busy week so I missed the chance for early week photos and didn't take the pic with both plants on the closet before separation. But trust me the space was way to tight for them. This is the 4th day into the 9th week of veg, and the beginning of the 3rd month. One of the plants (the larger one) has become a regular house plant. This means it isn't getting 18 hours of light. We have quite regular 12 hour light cycles in my city so I think this will trigger flowering. The plant is large enough, so if this is the case I will be happy about it. Today I found some growth that might indicate a starting point for preflowers. Not sure tho. Anyway both plants look healthy. Next week we'll check for more changes.

Abraxasbot1812 This is the second day into the tenth week of veg. Things got weird. The plant inside the closet (18/6 cycle) is showing a lot of signs of preflowering. While the window plant (12/12 cycle) has grown rapidly and shows no sign of flowering in any way. I worry about the closet plant, maybe I should flip the light cycle soon. I wanted to keep the 18/6 veg cycle for 12 weeks. Lets see if it works out, people on forums say that preflowers are just a sex indicator and that plants won't start properly flowering until I flip it. So I'm ok with experimenting a bit. There's not a long time left anyway (almost 3 full weeks). Closet plant also got some nasty leaf spots (brown and burnt). Internet says it might be Cal Mag deficiency. So this week I will make a homemade extract with egg shells and Epsom salts. I found instructions for this process online. I don't know how tall they are now. But I think they must be getting to 50cm. Forums say that in between the end of veg and harvest plants will grow 25-50 % bigger. So I think they will be large enough in the planned time. (I'm hoping for a final size anywhere from 80 - 100 cm) I have to start thinking about lollypopping and the end of veg. I'll be reading on this topics this week.
