SheyTailfeather What's up guys, welcome to my new grow "Life of my navy plants"🎖️ The "navy" is because these girls will be put to the test with harsh conditions, bad pots, droughts and so on. This reminded me of the navy though I never was there. The purpose of this grow: Find out what's possible trying to turn a handicapped grow into a masterpiece, whatever it takes. I got 3 grows done which were all pretty good though I messed up a lot. For this one I will only messure the minimum: water & nutrition intake, hours of sunlight, temp and humidity. I focus on building a relationship with the plants, even communicate and learn from them what they like or dislike. I wanna be as non scientific as possible to test out how good my intuition and understanding of the plant is. As I'm a beginner, this could get wild 😂 All seeds soaked in water with h2o for 4h then transplanted into papertowel until the sprout is alive. Then into the 2l clay pot, no air, no drain. They spent 5-7 days under a cheap 20w chinese led lamp. This photo is on of their first days out when it was 4* celcius I decided to leave them outside. The first days was mixed with a lot of winds, they touched soil many times, but yeah... They're navy plants! Here's the team: Springbrunnen (left) Kannabia Kickass Auto (freebie) Her top always looks like a Springbrunnen. Popped on 18/19.04. Rocky (center) Barney's Sour Diesel Auto Only had 4 days of 18h cheap Chinese light 😂 then spent the night outside 7 days old near frost. She had it hard from the beginning, that's why Rocky. She popped late, around 21./22.04. because the other seed of this genetics wouldn't germinate. Zilla (right) Her leaves looked like the teeth of godzilla very early... Popped on 18.04. See ya next week with more photos and more action

SheyTailfeather Wow what a good start! 🏆 Despite temp peaks of 46* celcius on certain spots on my balcony. Lowest in the night was 4* average was 7* Humidity varies between above 80% in the early morn and 20% on dry days. Average I guess around 40% They get 7h of direct sunlight max. Starting indoor at my office window 8.00 - 11.00 temp 20* humidity 60% The put them outside where they get up to 5h but the weather has been mediocre. First feeding half dose around 2 weeks. Gave them half a kelp dragee that I usually take. Only Springbrunnen seems to suffer. Leaves look stressed to me, I think she has problems with the cold and wants it dryer than the other ones.. She drank only about 200 ml, while the others drank 400. But she'll make it. I talked to her, gave her love and everything.

SheyTailfeather Checking in at day 21/22 Tonight was the coldest night of this journey at 3* celcius. Weather should be all sunny the next days. I'm visiting family for two days so I'll put em on the sunniest spot on the balcony. The soil is still moist, so no nutrition until I'm back. Springbrunnen (Kannabia Kickass) grows different, less leafy but she's the first one to show signs of preflowering. I think the ruderalis percentage is higher in her. Day 23 Coming home and they look great! You know how nice it is, all the worries "ouh but the wind..." and you're home and they're like "Bro chill, everything good" Rocky (BF Diesel) is the slowest in leaf development but already has catched up in height and a hint of smell :) Zilla (BF Gor.Z) is a monster and embodies her name. Light nutty smell on her. Springbrunnen (Kannabia Kickass) is the fastest, recovered well from overwatering and builds the most branches. Also her smell is already quite strong and pungent, reminds me of that old weed. Amazing how different and special they are already. I also noticed that they built a very strong stem compared to indoors, think that's because of the storm they went through 😊 Both Springbrunnen & Zilla drank 300ml with 2ml/l plagron alga grow. I'm keeping the dose light because their is no drain. Day 24 Rocky (Diesel) got her first fertilizer half dose as usual. All 3 girls have stretched 2-3 cm over night. I expect signs of flowering soon. I guess rocky stretches because she grows more sativa like. Day 25 They all sized up 3cm again over night. All girls look pretty healthy and seem to get along with the daytime humidity of 20% Today winds should be 40km/h, hope they like a little wind training. The soil is dry so at sundown they will get watering with half dose of grow fertilizer again. Day 26 Rocky catched up in height. I expect her to grow taller than the other 2. Early pistils and noticeable scent from all of them, very lovely. Springbrunnen even a bit stinky but different, reminds me of CBD. What I learned from my plants: They're not loving the circumstances, so to protect their life, they wanna stay compact with short internodial distances. Zilla & Rocky love the dose of nutrition, for Springbrunnen it's too much. She will get water only next time. Rocky always twists her top at the end of the day, my guess would be she wants to stretch and grow more. She always wants more, so I have no doubts she's a girl. Day 27 Nighttemps have been a little warmer last two days like 8-9 celcius, I wonder if it's the reason they sized up big. I'm going on a family trip for 2 days so they will stay on the balcony on the most prominent spot. They thrive. Soil was a little too wet to water before the trip, don't mind a little drought. See ya next week. New treats this week: - sing for them my plant song "photosynthesis" on the guitar in C maj - leaf massage (girls love wellness) - water and feeding according to the moon calender if possible (even the fcking ocean reacts to the moon so it's very likely plants do too)

SheyTailfeather Back in the game on Day 28 All my girls sized up 2-3 cm again. The soil of Zilla & Springbrunnen is dry af, while Rocky didn't drink much. She also got some white spots (pic) which could be aphids. First I thought it was mildew but the spot looks more like the green got sucked out. I will look for her tomorrow. Also I will try to understand what she needs, as she don't look that happy. Day 29 Sometimes a 2nd look is worthy. Rocky is just different, she's about to do something big, her appearance is like "watch out bro I'm gonna.." so I let her, don't do anything special. All plants drank around 500ml so their thirst increased about 50%. Look at Rocky the nighttime picture. I marked the pots so I make sure they're always facing the sun in the same angle. When I left home she was 100 percent turning her top to the front, where the sun is. When I came back 3h later she twisted it 45 degrees. Maybe cause there's some led chain at the neighbour's balcony 😂 How the f is that possible, I asked myself. Never seen it that fast. Thank you Rocky for this stunning experience. Day 30 Still thrilled about yesterday. Wondering if I was too high and mismarked the pot but I'm very accurate about that. I decided to put Rocky on a Challenge, the "180 Twist Challenge" by putting her face off to the sun in the office and look if she can do a 180 in the 4h of light there 😂 I put them there at 06:50, the sun is slowly rising.. It's crazy look at the Pic, she straightened completely in 3h. The camera don't fully capture how she started it was literally like that: ¬ One mistake I made was feeding Springbrunnen, instead of water only. She looks like she's full so definitely next time she will only get water. Day 31 They drank pretty fast, the soil was almost dusty on the surface. Everytime I see that, I spray a little water otherwise it would be dead. Today they got around 500ml water only. Later that day it rained and humidity stayed at 80%, they seemed to like a little shower 😊 Here's how I water: I do it at sunrise only, spray the surface and perhaps prepare a little so the soil can soak it up slowly. Then I do slow circles from outside to inside. Then wait a few minutes. Depending on how the soil feels I do the 2-3 times, that's it. As we're about halftime if their lifespan, here is a grow summary: Successes: ~ Withstanding several nights of down to 3° celcius at the age of 7-14 days. ~ Withstanding hot dry days with spots of 40° celcius & 20% humidity in the same time span. ~ Didn't lose ONE leaf ~ Didn't over or underwater or overfeed ~ Besides 3,4 fruit flys and a mini spider no insects ~ No big illness or such issues, though there is a tiny bit of mildew on 2-3 bottom leaves, I will treat it with h202 solution 2x / day ~ Vigorous growth despite bad tiny closed pots ~ They simply look amazing and every girl has developed her own character. Feels like I'm starting to know and understand them. Misses ~ I didn't do all the voodoo/esoteric stuff until now, didn't massage them or sing to them regularly. My fault, but I got time to implement. Apart from that, I made no real mistakes I realized that most of the mistakes we are doing, is from doing too much and then undoing that. Day 32 Good news - since 2 days I'm doing the singing in c major (it hits some growth frequency I heard) and I enhanced their wellness treats. For now I'll keep it secret but I will share it when it's time 😎 Weather has been mixed, some winds up to 40km/h, some sonhours & some rain. The whole package 😊 I put Rocky on the 180 Twist Challenge again. This time even harder with the stormy winds coming from the right.. But of course - as a navy plant - she completed the mission! Look at the proof pics! Crazy how flexible she is, she also danced with the wind looking so flexible and confident 😍 Springbrunnen danced more like martial arts maybe because her former name was Bruce Lee. Zilla didn't really dance as you can see 🤣 She's just such a fckin TREE!!! Her main stem is so massive I think she would even stand with 70km/h or more 💪 Day 33 Temps dropped down to 6* celcius again, tomorrow even colder, so the "navy" challenges keep going with the heavy winds yesterday. As the matured, I'll level up the challenges if the weather becomes too comfort 👆 Rocky had 3 herms when I looked for sex. Pulled them off gently. Either she was too young for the challenges or it's genetically that she wants it warmer. When I think about where she's from, it's always "Mexico" poppin up in my mind. The date I'm targeting for harvest is 25.06. which is new moon. I know can't plan everything, but I wanted to set the date. All girls drank 500ml of water with 0.1% alga grow and 0.2% bloom. Fed them in the evening for the first time, I wanted to stick to the morning feed but the soil was already borderline dry. Day 34 They didn't sink their leaves and go to sleep as they usually do & in the morning they looked less vital, just like they didn't sleep well. Wonder if it's from the watering in the evening, maybe they got thrown off their rhythm. Besides that, the conditions have varied for the last 3 days, basically either 28° and 20% (so low) and 18° and 80% humidity when it rained. Still winds with up to 40km/h which the balcony can't buffer. So it didn't get too comfortable 😊 Today it's gonna be all rain, the soil feels like an a good moisture level. While they are sheltered by the balcony above them, as soon as winds are in the game they get wet. The week is over, it has been amazing with no issues and vital growth 💪 They have grown into real women this week

What is superior for an outdoor plant - watering at sunrise or sunset?

Generally, watering at sunrise is best - it maximizes water uptake for the day, reduces evaporation thanks to cooler morning temperatures, and gives the top layer of soil time to dry out before sunset. This helps prevent elevated nighttime humidity, which can invite issues, especially during flowering.

Either, it really does not matter. Mornings are good, but I don't like to send my girls to bed dry as well........... Whichever fits in with YOUR schedule will be fine..........they are plants, they are not humans and won't hold any grudges!

SheyTailfeather Let's roll it's week 6 😎 To start off, I want to sum up the last weeks. The conditions have been changing throughout all this grow. Overall it was more often sunny then not, so that's a plus. The negative side was the absence of consistency 😂 There were a lot of days with sun, rain and spicy winds. Day 35 The Team has grown a lot, so I'm doing portraits with 3 different perspectives and a profile for each plant. Springbrunnen will be shot tomorrow, Rocky in 4 days cause she's 4 days younger. But Zilla was the first to pop anyways so I think it's halfway even. Weather is 18/50 on average with 3h of sun today Day 36 Shooting Springbrunnen today. I couldn't convince the sun to come out at afternoon so the lighting is not the same but I want to shoot them at same age. Lots of winds and rain today. Day 37 Today winds hit heavy and I made a little video for all the MMA fans out there.. Watch the video (Zilla at the top is the ref) Joe rogan voice "Rocky closes the distance and starts a huge left-right-headbutt combo to the body of Springbrunnen. Nice body movement in the defense.. OOUH but she felt it, she's tumbling! But now back on solid feet..." Day 38,39,40, 41 Rainy days bros, through the shelter they get wet but not too much. Everyday 2h of sun on average. Hit buy a little hail and storm at Day 41 but they're STRONG! ZILLA (Barney's Farm Gorilla Z Auto) Height: 49cm Appearance: Tree-like Scent: Strong, sweet/candy, hint of woody Infects: Tiny mildew on bottom leaf in week 4, now healthy, handful of flys near the cola. Nutrition: Thirsty, could take a lot more nutes I guess Qualities: Super thick and strong, almost like a tree, intense deep green. Adjustments: daily stretch mid leaves to prepare for leaf tucking, increase fertilizer to 75% of recommended dosage. SPRINGBRUNNEN (Kannabia Kickass Auto) Height: 48cm Appearence: slim, sharp the genetics original name was Bruce Lee and that hits it 100%! (her main stem is half the mass compared to Zilla) Scent: very strong, lemon, pungent and a hint of sweet Infects: Tiny mildew on bottom leaf in week 4, now healthy, handful of flys near the cola Nutrition: medium thirsty, didn't want a lot of nutes especially in veg Qualities: good leaf production, fast Adjustments: watch out to NOT confuse Zillas feed withhers 😂 Leaftucking mid branches ROCKY Height: 56cm Appearance: lanky, top heavy, special growth structure (Cobra like) Scent: low, "standard" weed smell Infects: flys, bugs and more I just discovered Nutrition: low in both water & nutes Qualities: very flexible, moved her head with the sun when she was young. She faced the hardest conditions when she was young and it seems like it took a long time to recover. As she may like it hotter according to her origin, it's a miracle that she is that healthy now. In terms of grow speed she's the slowest. Adjustments: get rid of her insects & check her more often.

SheyTailfeather Day 42 Crazy it's already week 7, it goes so fast. Rocky has outgrown the other 2 by 7 cm I think. It's hard to measure because her head always shows into one direction, incredible how flexible she is. I have no fear any storm (the 50km/h winds show up daily) could hurt her despite a tornado. Day 43 All the girls are fit, still no leaf lost, bugs etc are down to a minimum. It's a fantastic grow for me and as it looks for them too😁 I want to give a shout out to the breeders, especially Barney's. All the auto varieties I had the pleasure to grow outdoors have performed very good and stable. While it wasn't one totally outstanding, but all on a high level, top consistency. And also Kannabia, I didnt know em, but they have a nice catalogue of genetics that are special, for example some midrange THC strains, which I personally love. More "natural" plants. The Kickass is beautiful with that ol skunky smell 😊 Day 44 Today I accidently poured half of the watering can into Zillas soil, I kind of stumbled and so she got her whole feeding at once 😊 She doesnt show an signs of overwatering. Springbrunnen is infected by mildew on the 5 lowest leaf. I will cut them, it's too much of a risk. All 3 girls get a H2O2 treat and some neem oil. Cut some lower leaves that are either infected or yellow & when they're easily removable. I don't like taking off leaves, it's just painful at least for me. Honestly a lot of that heavy defoliation, topping, you name it, feels like torture to me. I mean yes they can be advantageous in different scenarios but my purpose is to let her grow the way SHE wants to, I just want to assist so she can bring out more of her. If it's less harvest or whatever, so be it.
