geo098765 I’m trying to figure out what color these tricomes are so I know when to flush, I’m using salt based chemicals so I know I want to flush before harvest
trichomes, i’m growing Orion F1, my trichomes look clear right now, should I start flushing or not, I know autos are a lot faster than photo periods, which is why I’m asking These are pictures of the buds, I just need to know when I have a week before harvest
blurry pictures but depending on how long youve been flowering. id say they may be able to start flushing now.
the trichs look cloudy to me right now.
i tend to wait till i see amber and then
The "plant" picture in your diary shows a plant that is nowhere near ready........
The video footage is not helpful either and without seeing clear pictures of the whole buds it is impossible to answer your question.
Once there are 98-99% brown pistils/hairs, you will be entering the harvest zone.
From what I can see in your pictures, this is still a long way off.
Generally, once there are about 95% brown pistils I will stop all fertilizers and give just plain water for the last 10-14 days and harvest then when there are 98-99% brown pistils. This usually co-incides with the oft suggested 10-30% amber trichomes without having to look.
For "flushing" you do not need to drown your plants with gallons of water, just stop all fertilizers and supplements for roughly 10 days before the expected harvest day and the plant will "flush" itself naturally.
Just give plain water in normal amount and at normal intervals, that is all that is required.
Giving gallons of water to flush as if trying to unblock a drain will not make this process occur any faster.
"Flushing" plants is highly misunderstood and should really be re-named as "cleansing" in my opinion.
Hey 👋
The more brown trichomes you see, the more sedating the effect will be.
Me for example I try to avoid too many brownish trichomes, but I want as many milky as possible ( for highest THC level possible )
Most people try 10% clear, 10% brownish & rest milky. According to that you should start flushing from my perspective.
Hope that helped 👍
Enjoy harvesting 👊🍀
What color are these tri combs looks clear to me, but I also see a couple that have Amber on the ends, should I give plain water at this point? I wanna be able to flush all the nuts out
Hey 👋
Depends on your personal taste.
Me Personal I like to harvest with most milky content with less amber trichomes. More amber trichomes lead to sedating effects, which I do not want for sativa dominant strains… otherwise k could grow indicas which usually have lower cycle times…
Nevertheless I would still feed a week or two, and would flush for one week. But this is my personal opinion.
Hope this helped.
Enjoy your journey 👊🍀
