Nugget_head88 Watered with Rhizotonic and calmag, I'm using calmag as my water is 60-80ppm out of the tap and there is very little calcium & magnesium present, on the next watering I will start with following the canna feed chart with it set to light feeding. I'll be aiming to feed once a week but will see how she responds. I'm using VPD and DLI as a guide for my conditions so currently lights are on for 20 hours as they will be for the duration and I currently have them about 25cm away on the 25% setting, putting out around 160 PPFD, so DLI is at 11ish and VPD is sat around 0.5kpa on average, this will increase incrementally throughout the grow. Update - missed day 6 photo...oops but I have moved the humidifier into the tent as a bit of an experiment as I wasn't happy with how erratic the conditions were day to day, even with the humidifier on a set humidity, the conditions varied wildly. Update - day 7 I raised the lights to around 55cm away and increased the strength to 50 percent, for 2 reasons, one to increase PPFD to around 220 and also to generate a bit more heat as the temps started to drop lower than i wanted, I should really get a controller so I can raise it in 1% increments but that's one for another time. I decided to just water with calmag and Rhizotonic again as she seems happy. Week 1 complete, All going well so far.

Nugget_head88 26/05/2025, Start of week 2, looking nice and healthy. 29/05/2025 fed today. 01/06/2025, end of week 2, no issues everything seems to be going well.

Nugget_head88 02/06/2025, start of week 3, decided to do a bit of LST (tied down main stem) let's see how she responds. Reduced humidity by around 8% to increase leaf VPD to between 0.7 and 1.0 kpa, and lowered the light a little more, increasing to around 300 PPFD for this week. Hoping to see a bit of a rush of growth once she recovers from the LST as I expect flowering will start in the next 2 weeks and need her to fill out a.s.a.p Update 04/06/2025, Looks like I should have probably waited for the next node to stretch a little and then tied her down as I could have brought the top full level with the the other shoots and perhaps encourage better branching as this particular girl doesn't seem to be very branchy, this may change though, will probably have to bend her again but time it better so I can actually tie round the very top instead of one node down and hopefully then encourage some real branching and filling out. Another lesson learned for this rookie. Update: 06/06/2025, fed at 1.2 ec ph 6.2. Update 08/08/2025, end of week, should have waited at least a couple more days to water, she looks over watered, not terrible though and looking better this morning than yesterday morning, will make sure she is properly dry next time.

Nugget_head88 09/06/2025, start of week 4, a bit annoyed with myself for overwatering as it's set me back by a few days at least but she's not looking too bad and can hopefully achieve a good stretch now she's showing some preflowers. 12/06/2025, watered with 1ml/l calmag only (0.4 EC) and PH'd down to 6.2, backed the light off a little as the leaves were cupping quite a bit. 14/06/2025, looking much happier, starting to stretch. 15/06/2025, end of week 4, looked much happier the last few days and stretch is definitely starting, I have tucked her today and might do again in a couple of days but beyond that I'll just let her go.

Nugget_head88 Monday 16/06/2025, start of week 5. The stretch is underway and has been for a few days, happy with how she looks health-wise currently although I've made some mistakes along the way that she has had to recover from. i made one final tuck under the net on day 29 (17/06/2025) although it's not a proper scrog by any stretch of the imagination, it's helped keep the canopy level so the side branching could catch up, and I'm letting her go now, hoping she stretches a good 20-30cm but we will see. Day 30, fed at 1.2ec, was probably 12 hours late on the watering as she did not look happy at all, bounced straight back though once fed. Day 31, not much to report, a lighter shade on the newest growth but to be expected at this stage, I've pinched a few of the lower fan leaves over the last few days. Day 32 backed the lights off slightly as the leaves were looking a little light stressed. Day 34, fed with calmag and water only at 0.4 ec, forgot to ph it down but hopefully it won't matter too much in soil, she's had a good stretch over the last day or 2. 22/06/2025, end of week 5, happy with the progress this week, pinched a few more leaves today and reorganised the canopy a bit, had a bit of a heatwave over the last few days so had to increase the humidity to compensate, this also helped with the temps although she did have to deal with temps around 28c for quite a few hours and up to 29c for a very short time, didn't seem to have any ill effects though, temps now settled back around 26c. Looking forward to seeing some bud development in the upcoming week.

Nugget_head88 23/06/2025, beginning of week 6, she had a mad stretch, after a bit of light stress previously I was cautious and probably waited a little too long to increase intensity, once I did she definitely slowed down although she looks like it might be time to focus on flowering. 24/06/2025, she was looking a little dry so i gave a full feed but was really unsure whether to give one last dose of veg nutes or switch to the flowering nutes as it's so close to the stretch being finished.. I think...🤣. So I decided to use a half dose of each, will see if that was the right choice, she's still a very nice shade of green so it's possible I could have gone straight to flowering nutes. Pinched a couple more leaves, will strip all the undergrowth in the next few days. 25/06/2025, looking much happier today after a feed yesterday, although I do have a couple of leaves that are lightening up somewhat and it looks like she's still stretching so I'm now thinking a full dose of veg nutes might have been optimal to avoid any nitrogen deficiency later on, there's no serious signs of deficiency yet but I'll be keeping a close eye on the couple of leaves that are showing a small issue. 29/06/2025, end of week 6, the issues I've had haven't really progressed too much but I've had a couple of recommendations that I'm going to try, one I'm actually going to attempt to optimise the dark conditions using a dehumidifier, I really wish I had a portable air con unit instead though as the night temps are going to be very warm with the heat that kicks out, probably only a couple of c cooler than daytime, I'm also going to see if too much calmag is causing an issue by backing off to a half dose for the next couple of waterings.

Nugget_head88 Day 44 01/07/2025, I flushed with a quarter strength nutrient solution but kept with the usual does of cannazym and Rhizotonic as sure it could only help her, im experiencing some issues with yellowing and a few brown spots plus tip burn, I've never done an auto before and never considered that they might need less feed than a photoperiod, feel very stupid, so with that being considered I think it was probably for the best and will move forward with half strength feeds. I am also actually trying to get the night cycle in check as I've been advised of some processes that won't happen with the low VPD that I was allowing to happen at night, the dehumidifier works but also heats the room up to nearly daytime temps, it's a desiccant dehumidifier though and I think it just pumps out more heat, I'll have to reinvest in a more suitable dehumidifier Maybe the issue is too much calmag, it also has iron in it and an iron excess can cause a manganese deficiency, unsure.. I have had some heat issues over the last week hit 30c for a short time and has been consistently over 28c, I have kept the humidity higher to keep vpd in line but it's not great, this is just due to some very warm conditions in my area over the last week or so, and I just don't have the cooling capacity to deal with it, hoping things cool down a bit now so I can at least make sure temperature is ok..

Nugget_head88 07/07/2025, beginning of week 8, a few issues have reared their head, done as many checks as I can on conditions and soil conditions and have come to the conclusion that I need to carry on sensibly feeding as these issues were probably present weeks ago but just not showing until now. Bud development seems ok and they are lengthening/stacking ok, she's becoming more and more frosty and starting to smell a bit, I think she will carry on lengthening this week before starting to flatten up from next week and will feed accordingly. Fingers crossed it doesn't fall apart haha.

Nugget_head88 Day 56 14/07/2025, beginning of week 9, obviously the damage is already done on the leaves and with 3 separate heatwaves, there has been 3 separate 3-4 day periods that have exceeded 30c for several hours at a time which can't be great for the plant. The buds do look quite nice but assuming they would have been bigger and better if she was healthy throughout, just hoping I can get her to the end without complete loss of foliage. At this stage I'm almost looking forward to the next attempt as I know the conditions will line up perfectly for that one, beginning of August start early November finish. I wont try to start anything around may-july (summer conditions throughout late veg and flower) again until I can dissipate heat more effectively. Learned a lot so far and will be putting that to use for the next one. Let's see how this week goes.
