Super Sativa Seed Club : Black Cherries

Budz_Bunny Green greetings to everyone 🌱 The first week after germination is done, and I am very satisfied with the start of my new project. The four Black Cherries from Super Sativa Seed Club are developing healthily and vigorously. No nutrients so far – they can stretch out in peace for now before moving into a 1.5% Living Soil mix next week to get accustomed to the “good stuff.” A gentle start for strong ladies! Setup & Conditions The automated system is running smoothly, controlled by the AC Infinity controller, which reliably monitors the VPD. Light is still coming from the Lumatek 300W Pro, currently at 250 PAR – a relaxed value for this early phase. Cover Crop & Living Soil My 380-liter Living Soil bed is ready – the microorganisms are at work, and the cover crop is shooting through the roof. Maybe a bit too eager – I’ll probably have to trim it back soon before the main stars move in. Germination Rate & Outlook The germination rate was impressive – strong seedlings without weakness. If the genetics continue to show like this, it promises to be a very exciting grow. I am looking forward to the repotting action next week and eagerly watching the development. Budz_Bunny Grow Report Week 2: Welcome to the Bed & First Care Tasks Greetings to all grow friends 🌿 The second week of my Black Cherries test grow from Super Sativa Seed Club is behind me – and it went smoothly, but very successfully. Transplanting to the Final Zone All four plants have been successfully moved to the Living Soil bed (380 L) and will now have a week to acclimate to their new environment. No fertilization has been done yet – only pH-adjusted tap water has been used. Next week, I will slightly reduce the humidity to initiate active growth. Vitality & Aroma The plants are looking top-notch: lush green, vibrant, and already with an enticing aroma profile. The genetics seem promising, and I’m curious to see how they present themselves in the coming weeks. Cover Crop Management The cover crop had a slight growth advantage – to ensure my four ladies get enough light and can grow undisturbed, I trimmed it back this week to keep it more compact. Budz_Bunny Grow Report Week 3: Mistakes, Progress & Fine-Tuning This week was full of action – not everything went perfectly, but that's often where the best learning experiences come from. Light Drama & Over-Fertilization When repotting last week, I wanted to slightly increase the light intensity – I forgot to activate the timer function on my lamp. The result: 24 hours of continuous light for four days. Due to the increased water consumption, there was slight over-fertilization – probably due to the Living Soil mix, which enhanced nutrient uptake. Two days after the correction, the plants already showed signs of improvement – vitality returned. Topping Phase Successfully Completed All four ladies were topped: - They had 5–6 nodes, with 3–4 having 5-fingered leaves. - The lower 1- and 3-fingered leaves were completely removed – leaving a bare stem, with the tip taken off at the top. - Two plants now have 6 shoots, the other four – and that's how they should stay. The ladies handled the topping very well and continue to show solid growth. Automation with Blumat Started This week, the Blumat system was put into operation: - Each plant received a Blumat Maxi dripper with ring irrigation. - Previously, watering was done manually with Blumat Digital display. - In week 4, smaller drippers will be added to keep the surface of the bed continuously moist. Observations & Care The plants currently look a bit dark – a sign of possible over-fertilization. I hope the Living Soil mix wasn't too strong, but that will show in the coming weeks. The cover crop was trimmed back to keep it compact and not steal light from the four ladies – now they have enough space to take off again. Conclusion of the Week Despite a few small mishaps, I am very satisfied. The ladies are robust, haven't taken a break, and continue to show strength. Budz_Bunny Grow Report Week 4: Technique, Topping & Bravery Hello everyone 🌱👷‍♂️ This week was intense: technical upgrades, minor setbacks – and still, we keep moving forward. The Black Cherries from Super Sativa Seed Club are showing themselves to be robust and resilient, just like my optimism! Blumat Expansion 💧 I’ve upgraded my watering system and installed six additional small Blumat drippers to keep the surface of the bed evenly moist. - Four drippers were integrated directly into the existing drip rings – this way, the plants receive water from both sides. - The remaining drippers complement the setup around the main root areas. I’m curious to see how this double drip system will perform – so far, everything looks stable. Branch Break – Quick Response While laying out the drippers, unfortunately, a topped main branch broke off. - Within a minute, I secured it with a 3mm Blumat hose. - After two days, it’s showing normal growth again – I call that emergency care with success! - The size difference is balanced out with targeted LST – keeping everything in harmony. LST Started 🌿 This week I also began Low Stress Training: - Each plant had its shoots positioned to guide growth evenly and optimize light. - Only with the plant that had the branch break did I act cautiously – for now, only the lower shoots were worked on, allowing the injured spot to fully recover. Little Chaos, Big Satisfaction It was a tiring week, but the results make me feel positive: - Plants are vibrant, growing well, and the damage was quickly addressed. - The transition to the next growth phase is in full swing – despite a few minor hiccups. 🎥 To wrap up: Time-lapse to Week 4 The plants are now so big that the camera has been repositioned – higher angle, more overview. 👉 The new time-lapse shows the development up to today – from delicate seedlings to powerful plants. I hope the next few weeks will be a bit calmer so I can fully focus on care and observation – but I remain optimistic and look forward to everything that’s coming! 🍒
