luurchi41 Day 7: Watered with 600ml Day 10: I decided to top her, since she's a vigorous grower : (also I am a sucker for symmetry). She has been doing great after that *hehe* Day 13: I watered 900ml with 2ml/L of BioBizz Grow with ~150ml drain Other comments: temperature was quite high, but I couldn't really do anything about it. She is a summer girl anyway. I also switched to 24/0 light out of convenience (~40 DLI).

luurchi41 Berta is not a newborn anymore! I've been gone for the first 2 days of week 3 and Berta surprised me with a big growth spurt when I came back. The sidenodes were big enough to start LST. I also defoliated from time to time. Can't keep my hands away from the scissors. Day 20: I watered with 1.1L (200ml drain) and 3ml/L Grow from BioBizz.

luurchi41 I was gone for 2 days (end of week 3/ beginning of week 4). She grew very nicely in this time. Day 22: I watered 1.1L Liter (~150ml drain) with 3ml/L Grow from BioBizz. I raised the lamp, so I could hold my phone up higher and get more of her in the frame. I also ramped up the light intensity to ~45DLI (24/0). Day 26: She is getting thirstier. I watered 1.5L Liter (~200ml drain) with 3ml/L Grow from BioBizz. End of week 4: I am very pleased with the development of all the nodes. There are no signs of pistils yet. She looks happy and healthy. Little does she know one day later she would get a pretty drastic haircut, because her owner got scissor-happy again.

luurchi41 Day 28 started with a surprise for Berta: a new Haircut! I probably cut off to much, but I wanted to give all the nodes equal lightexposure and Berta was pretty bushy before. I also tried to keep all the nodes at the same distance to the lamp. As you can see, she is flat like a runway model. Day 30: I was shooketh. She got her first little pistils. I watered 1,5L with 3ml/L Grow, 1ml/L Bloom and 1ml/L TopMax. Day 33: I watered 1,5L with 3ml/L Grow, 1ml/L Bloom and 1ml/L TopMax. I left some water on a leaf in the middle which got a bit yellow as a results, but well... We are ending week 5 with some more pistils and the tops of the plant being bright green. DLI around 53 now.

luurchi41 Berta has been a bad girl this week. Or was I just a bad mom...? Day 37: watered with 1.5L and above mentioned nutrients. Day 40: There were quiet a bit of leaves not looking too happy. In general the leaves where not as dark of a green as before with some having brown spots or turning yellow in some places. I watered 1.5L with 4ml/L grow, 2ml/L bloom and 1ml/L topmax. Since i don't know if Berta has issues because of a CalMag-deficiency, I added about 4 teaspoons of garden lime to the surface of the soil. Some leaves at the bottom of the plant had to go for better air circulation. I removed the training stakes, because they began to bother me. Hope this was not a mistake. I also bought a pH and EC measuring tool, which arrived the following day. I was quite surprised at how big the difference was between end of week 5 and end of week 6.

luurchi41 Berta and I ended week 7 with the "grow technique" defoliation 😕 On top of last weeks problems I also watered about a day to late, because I did not have distilled water to calibrate my pH measuring tool. Well... in the end I just used tap water for that anyway... 💩 Day 45: I watered 1.5L with above mentioned nutrients without adjusting the pH. After seeing sad little Berta, I calibrated my pH tool with tap water and stuck it into the drained water: ph = 7.2 and EC = 1500. I adjusted the pH to about 6 and watered her with the drain. Day 48: I hope the issue is that the pH is too high. Otherwise I don't know what to do. I watered 1.5L with above mentioned nutrients. This time I measured and adjusted pH before watering. pH before adjustment: 6.4; pH after adjustment: 6.0. EC was around 1000. There was about 300ml of drain. with a pH of 7 and EC of 1500. I adjusted it again to 6 and gave it back to Berta. DLI for this week as about 65. On a good note: She is getting frostyyyy

luurchi41 Chapter 9/ Week 8: Berta and the toilet aka The week of ppm: panic, pain and mindless actions The week started of good. After lowering the pH in last weeks waterings, I could tell that the yellowing of the leaves stopped spreading. I thought she was finally getting the nutrients she needed. As the tips on the yellowing leaves turned crisp, I had some doubts if the cause really was her being underfed, rather than being overfed. But since the problem seemed to be solved, I did not think too much about it. Tragedy struck on Day 53 at 1:44am after a midnight nap: I decided to water her. Feeling confident with the EC and pH measuring tools, I prepared 1.5Liter of BioBizz deliciousness (3ml/L Grow, 3ml/L Bloom, 1ml/L TopMax). pH after adjustment: 6. EC: 950. After feeling a little suspicious of the EC tool which displayed "ppm" under the 950, I decided to push the "mode" button. The display then switched to "EC 1900"... ~ Do you know these moments where you have the feeling something is not quite right but then you just let it slide? Well I had these moments the last two times I watered, which where the first times I used the EC tool... I kind of thought ppm maybe was the unit EC was measured in. I also ignored that the tool had a "mode" button all together. ~ Sooooo... I measured the EC wrong. Which also means the EC data from my last weeks report are wrong. I will let my report from last week untouched to avoid confusion and correct it here: Day 45 EC drain was 3000 (not 1500) Day 48: EC Initial watering was 2000 (not 1000); EC drain was 3000 (not 1500). Since Berta seemed to do fine after last weeks waterings, I watered my prepared Mixture just a bit down with straight water to EC 1400 (pH adjusted to 6 again) and gave it to Berta. The drain had a pH of 6.7 and EC of 2500. As I was waiting a few minutes to water her again with the drained water (pH adjusted back to 6), I started to panic about the EC. Maybe reading up on EC a little more during these minutes also had something to do with that. I decided to flush some of the nutrients out. Berta was patiently waiting on the toilet for her extra drink. I didn´t really read anything about flushing before doing it. Maybe the reasonable thing would be to flush with straight water (pH of 6)? As I stuck the pH tool in my 1.5L of straight water, it started throwing all sorts of gang signs at me like °C and °F. What a pain, it's broken... I estimated a pH of something above 7, maybe 8, and put some drops of citric acid in it to bring it down a bit. EC = 350. I watered her. Last 300ml of drain had an EC of 2000. This probably would have been fine, right? Now we get into the territory of mindless actions. I had this strong desire to do something more. So I "flushed" again with 1.5L, 1ml/L Bloom, 1ml/L TopMax and an estimated pH of 6. EC was 600. EC of last 300ml of drain were 1400. On second thought, I probably flushed out more Bloom and TopMax than I gave her. And also this whole operation probably was unnecessary. I'm also concerned about my use of citric acid without the pH tool. Day 55: She is looking pretty good and her buds are getting bigger and bigger. I cut of more of her yellowing leaves, so she looks pretty for her photoshoot. Like, comment and follow to see how Berta will hold up with my shenanigans.

PPM 😅 sorry to laugh starting with your new definition of ppm. Im right there with you. I did the same thing this week. Flush then flush again, washing out all the nutes. Now hoping for a new result.
