Something has changed this week. I’ve chilled out. I’m just letting the plants get on with it. Mostly just trying to keep the humidity down below 55%. The weather has been wet.
Also planning the harvest.
Each plant is at a slightly different stage. The most advanced one has buds with 30-40% brown pistols. There is about 3 weeks gap between the most and the least advanced plants.
So I think I’ll do it in two harvests.
First one should be week 11-12. 4 plants. That way I get some more mature and some younger bud... I want to see what the difference is in the smoke.
The second harvest will be the final 3 plants, week 13-15.
I wanted to do the drying in the tent, so I need to think about how to dry/grow at the same time...
I’m doing an early harvest of 2 plants. I wanted to dry the buds in the tent, with the remaining 5 plants, as I don’t have any other air conditioned location in the house. There is a dark space above the lights. 25c & 45% RH atm. Is it a viable idea? Or should I just never do it?
Hi there mate , nice looking grow so far 😀
I wouldn't try to dry them in the tent with the grow lights etc because they would probably dry too quick
and be crumbly and not the best smoke. What your after is a dark spot with a bit of airflow and constant temps
and it will take 5 days or so to be properly dry and ready to begin the curing process. 👊
I hope this has helped mate
Awesome stuff! I’m growing the same strain from ILGM, just finished up week seven. I love checking your diary to get a sneak peek of what to expect in the coming weeks.

Great job! Enjoyed reading thru and knowing a bit of what to expect. This strain is a lot smaller than I had anticipated. Really enjoying this hobby so far and can't wait to save on medicine.
Coming along great pal! Room conditiond are sitting perfect, what dehumidifier did you go for, now i have the extractor fan and carbon filter i can keep between 55-62 rh now, big improvements however still need that little bit lower :( and the fan seems to be stealing some tempature when increased further - so hard getting that happy medium so great job doing it 🙏🤘
@Joah420, I just added twin 25w white LEDs on goose necks. Given I’m only in a 4 foot square space, this has increased the light quite a bit visibly. No idea how much this will affect temperature. I’m going to keep a close eye on it.
@Lucidite,Whatever youre doing, its going well! Ill be interested to see performance after you add the extra led, fingers crossed it gives the boost you want. Thanks for the info on dehumidifier think ill have to invest in one, much noise off it?
Love the grow! As to your question, I see you have figured something out for a dry box but if you decide to redesign later on, check out my current grow, week 14. I put together a dry box from a cardboard box from Home Depot, $10 filter, 4 inch ducting, a small fan, and string I had laying around. I also added two silica gel packs to keep the humidity down. Currently, I have 400+ grams of wet bud drying and the temps are 71 degrees, humidity is 56%, and there is no smell coming from the box unless I open it.
@Lucidite, There are double layered charcoal filters over the top of two 6" square cutouts on the sides of the box. The fan is taped to some 4" ducting that is taped to the other side of the box, I use it for pushing fresh air from the bedroom into the box to keep the fresh air moving slowly around the buds. If the air is moving too quickly, it can dry the buds out quicker and lower the bud quality. Also, my tent is in my garage and it is getting warm in my area, so using the box in my spare bedroom just happen to work perfectly for my situation. I was planning on originally using the filtered exhaust from my tent but the air pressure was way too much for the box setup. Once I tape the top up, I can't smell anything in the room. Just figured I would share, its a convenient and cheap way to harvest your plants separately, when they are each ready. I will say, it makes trimming much easier doing little by little. haha
@GrowingisFunkO, cool box. I think my setup is ok for the small amount I have initially. I’m at 23/73.5 and 45%. I almost went with a box. Wasn’t considering a fan though. Feeding back into the tent, I have noticed, that if I don’t leave any other baffle slightly open, then the tent walls suck in with the lower pressure. The air really rushes through the box. Does the fan do anything else?
For curing maybe try the packs like boveda. After those my curing issues with high humidity are gone. Peace of mind. No burping required, no hygrometer, no worries.
PS: first time I use those products
@Joah420, thank you. I have really enjoyed it so far. It isn’t without worry though. I won’t be totally relaxed until I have confirmed the strength. I need this weed to be medical in its effect.
Another week in, looking good pal! Read your weekly report I'm in the same position I wanted to tent dry for smell and ease options, however as you said I think my plants are also at all different stages. Let me know what option you end up going with, not long now 🙏😁
@Joah420, yeah close now. I’d like to think 2 weeks till first harvest but realistically I think 3 is probably closer. I’ll give them one more feed in a couple of days then decide. I need to order a better microscope to see the trichomes. The pocket one I have now is too powerful and hard to settle on anything. Looking at jewellery magnifying glass instead. Then I will have a better idea.
I’m thinking of hanging the first harvest in the tent, above the lights, in a small drying rack. Wet trimmed. I have a 20x25x50cm free space. Temp currently 23c 47% humidity. It would be just right if I could block enough light to it. Or alternatively, a separate box, feeding back into the tent via an air intake.
@@lilbp420, yeah really pleased with it. Thank you! I had put a bunch of hydrometers around the house to find the coolest place. The hallway downstairs was always ~5 deg c lower than the hottest place. But in the end, the air filtering provided by the tent won out. I’ll move the box anywhere if I have to. I’m not spending 3 months growing these amazing plants to dull them somehow :)
Thanks for the quick answers everyone. I’m going to think of another plan. It is actually going to be about keeping it down to ~20 deg. The weather is getting hot here over the next two weeks!
