Todzilla I transplanted to autopot xl (3.9) and started bottom watering by placing into a container. I did both top and bottom watering this week. This should hook up the roots before placing into Autopot tray.

Todzilla Looks like the transplant is successful. I topped the plants after this picture.
They’re really starting to take off….

Todzilla The Blue Gelato plants just took off this week adding 14” after topping 8 days ago. They’re slurping a gallon plus a day using a bottom feed method. I’ve already topped once and will do another topping this week. Huge fan leaves, over 9” wide. Weather is heating up a little.
Just jacks RO and RO water. Nothing else.

Todzilla In week 5 we topped the plants a second time. They’re slurping almost 2 gallons a day in 88 degree heat. We’re gonna transplant, defoliate and lollipop before the start of flower.

Todzilla 3.9g Autopot XL, Jacks RO, RO water, Outdoor SoCal, Blue Gelato 45 from seed.
It looks like the Blue Gelato is just about entering the flowering stage. I’m guessing September 27, but who knows. Oh snap I’m in CRSSD San Diego that weekend.. oops.
I topped last week and they still added a good 10 inches. They range from 55-66” tall. My big fans are over 10 wide and long.
I was bottom feeding in galvanized tubs, which worked well, but a lot of solution evaporated with the hot weather.
I wrapped the bottoms of the pots in landscape fabric and placed all 4 3.9g into the autopot xl system and turned it on. I placed them on elevated radiant barrier OSB (to reject heat) and leveled the autopots.
Issues:
These plants are approaching 6 feet tall and are very top heavy.
The size of the plant versus the relatively small 3.9g pot is demanding constant feeding.
I have to defoliate and lollipop before the flowering stretch. I’ll probably take some clones.
Best of luck with your grow.

Todzilla I was on vacation last week traveling through San Fran, the Humboldt rainforest and the giant redwoods, the rogue river in Oregon and the American fork river in Nor Cal.
The autopots held up well.
My caretaker said one plant fell over and a few branches snapped. But overall they’re looking healthy. They need a haircut badly. The trunks are thick.
Jacks RO and RO water, 3.9g Autopots, coco/perlite 70/30.

Blue Gelato 41 is in week 3 of flower and still stretching. The plants range from 68-78 inches tall with thick 2” trunks. Two months old, unbelievable….. 3.9 gallon pots.
Defoliated the plants twice this week to promote lollipoping and airflow.
Little signs of nute stress as I added some koolbloom to punch the PK up.
No pests, but the caterpillars 🐛 are definitely gonna show in a few weeks for sure.
The Autopots are holding up pretty well. But I think the 3.9g pots will stunt the gelatos growth possibilities. My runtz is in a 15g fabric pot stuffed into an Autopot XXL and although it was about 6”tall 4 weeks ago - it is almost as big as the gelatos and growing faster every day.
I have to move these to my secret spot and get them out of sight before they start stinking. Next, I’m gonna have to net them to keep the caterpillars out.

Todzilla The 4 gelatos are just about week 3-4 of flowering. Looks like they will all mature within 10 days of each other. This gives me some time during harvest - as doing all 4 big plants at once is a lot.
So far no nutrient burn at all as I punch it at 600ppm koolbloom and 450 ppm Jacks RO with RO water at 5.8ph. 1050 ppm.
So far this mix has been very ph stable. I used power SI in my coco. I like silica in my substrate in lieu of in my reservoir. Hence no more ph drift. Very impressed.
They’re drinking a solid 2 gallons a day. That’s a lot of RO water (8 gallons a day).
It looks like the stretch is slowing, the branches are hardening in anticipation of the weight of the buds. I’ve defoliated almost every day.
Next I have to move the plants and net them to prevent the moths / caterpillar during the fattening stage.
My biggest problem has been the plants toppling over from the wind. One has hit the deck 10 times. But they just keep chugging along.
Best of luck on your grow.
@James_Davis05, Thanks James! Yes, my blue gelatos seem really healthy. 4 for 4. The runtz did not fare as well 1 for 2, and the surviving runtz is living up to its name. It’s nowhere near my blue gelatos.
