DogDoctorOfficial Mango Kush Germination Report – A New Beginning
Genetics: Mango Kush – Zamnesia Seeds
Method: Cannakan Germination (https://cannakan.com)
Nutrients: Aptus Holland – Regulator & Startbooster
Medium: Soil
Series: “From Seed to Soul – The Germination Chronicles” (Coming soon on YouTube!)
Hey everyone!
I’m excited to be back and sharing a brand-new grow journey with all of you. We’re starting something really special this time—not just another grow, but an entire series documenting every step, every seed, every little miracle.
We’ll be focusing on multiple strains, with full transparency and deep explanations about methods, nutrients, tools, and decisions. And yes, this series will be coming soon to YouTube, so make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss any of the magic!
Now let’s talk about our guest of honor: Mango Kush by Zamnesia Seeds.
Germination Details
We used the Cannakan system for germination, super simple and effective. Just added plain water with a touch of something special (more on that below), labeled the laminate with the strain name, and let the process begin.
I originally started with three Mango Kush seeds. Unfortunately, I messed up two of them (it happens!), but one came through beautifully. Later, I popped another one and she quickly joined the party bringing us back to two, as planned.
Timeline
0–48h: Seeds showed signs of cracking, early indicators of life.
48h: Transferred to soil as soon as the taproots emerged.
under 24h after soil: They broke through the surface like champs.
Very smooth overall, no issues, just a calm, clean start.
Nutrient Insight – Why Aptus?
For this germination, I added a gentle mix of:
Aptus Regulator: Helps the plant manage stress and improves nutrient uptake, even at this early stage.
Aptus Startbooster: A light organic stimulator that helps root development and early vigor.
Even though many people germinate in just plain water, I find that a tiny dash of these two products gives a subtle but noticeable edge during the early days. Healthier roots, stronger starts.
A New Series Begins
This grow is the launchpad for a brand-new video series I’m developing. We’ll explore every stage, from germination to harvest with behind-the-scenes insights, in-depth nutrient breakdowns, genetic reviews, and personal stories from the garden.
It’s going to be something very special, different from anything I’ve shared before.
So come hang out on YouTube, drop a comment, and help build a community around this project.
Thanks for being here. This is just the beginning. Mango Kush is kicking things off, and many more will follow. Let’s grow something beautiful together.
With love, light, and leafy dreams,
Your grow partner

🌱 One Strong Soul – The Survivor Queen
This week brought a bit of unexpected news. Despite what appeared to be three successful germinations, only one seedling actually made it out of the soil. It’s a mystery we may never fully solve, but in hindsight, it might have something to do with a cheap heat mat purchased online on Amazon. We noticed inconsistent temperature zones across the mat—some areas were too hot, others too cool. That uneven heating likely stressed or even cooked the other two seeds below the soil.
The mat’s now in the garbage where it belongs. 🔥🗑️ Lesson learned: not all tools sold online are built with plants in mind.
But rest assured, this is not a setback. This is just one of those things that happens when you’re working with living beings and delicate systems. We’ve already germinated a fresh Mango Kush seed, and she will be joining the journey:
🌕 12/12 from seed, a special feature for our series, showing a different growing style with a late-starting plant. She’ll be a little different, and we love that.
⸻
👑 The Queen That Stands
Our remaining Mango Kush lady is growing beautifully. She’s on her way to the third pair of true leaves, and she’s doing it with grace and vigor under the Black Series 600 LED by Future Off. The spectrum is doing wonders, it’s balanced, deep, and promoting lush leaf development without overstretching.
She had a tough start, but she’s a fighter. With a little support and good lighting, she stood back up and now stands proud and strong.
⸻
💧 Feeding & Watering Routine
We’re continuing with the same gentle, rooting-focused feeding regimen:
• Aptus Regulator – 1 ml per liter
• Aptus Start Booster – 1 ml per liter
Both products support strong cell development and early-stage vitality without overstressing young roots.
We are bottom-watering—placing water in the tray and allowing the plant to wick up moisture from below. This encourages the roots to grow downward, strengthening the root system and minimizing the chance of rot or topsoil compaction. It’s gentle and precise, just how we want it at this fragile stage.
⸻
🔍 What This Week Is (and Isn’t)
What it is:
• A week of resilience and learning.
• A reminder that every plant has its own path, and sometimes the one that survives tells the best story.
• A good week for root development, gentle light, and close care.
What it’s not:
• A week for rushing or overfeeding.
• A week for disappointment, we keep going, we adjust, and we grow stronger with every lesson.
🎥 A Special Chapter Begins
Soon, the second Mango Kush will join, and she’ll be flowering from seed under 12/12 lighting, a beautiful side story in our main grow series. Different paths, same love.
This series is all about showing real growth, from the victories to the surprises, and teaching along the way.
With humility, strength, and the light of our Black Series,

🌱 Rooting In – The Girls Are Drilling
Week 2 of VEG, and the Mango Kush queens are settling in beautifully. Still in their early-stage containers, they’re building solid root systems and starting to show strong signs of growth. One is already stretching out three-finger leaves, and the next set looks like four fingers are on the way, classic signs of healthy vegetative progression.
No transplant yet, that’s next week, but they’re preparing themselves well. Drilling into the medium, anchoring with strength. This is the foundation phase.
⸻
🔧 Evolution Begins – TrolMaster Coming Online
This week wasn’t just about the plants, it was about preparing the grow environment for what’s coming. We’ve started installing the full TrolMaster ecosystem—Model One controls, sensor networks, cameras, all synced and ready.
This is a shared tent, 8x8, with sisters growing nearby. That meant we needed to reorganize the space, open things up, and give everyone room to breathe. A new ecosystem is being born, clean, connected, and fully monitored.
Yes, we’ve even been checking on them via the TrolMaster app… while pooping. 😂 (Let’s call it “TrolMonitoring” from the porcelain throne.”)
⸻
💧 Nutrient Profile – Light, Clean, Effective
No transplant yet means we’re still working with a careful, root-development-focused feed. Here’s the full mix we’re using this week:
Feed Mix (per liter):
• Aptus Regulator: 0.15 ml – Cell wall strength, nutrient uptake, anti-stress
• Aptus CalMag Boost: 0.25 ml – Early support for structural strength
• 💧 Aptus All-In-One Liquid: 1 ml – Balanced base nutrient
• 🌱 Aptus Start Booster: 2 ml – Organic biostimulants for root and shoot growth
Mix Stats:
• pH: 5.83
• EC: 1.01
• Water temp: 18.5°C
It’s a precise balance. Enough to drive development without pushing too hard.
⸻
🖐️ Watering – Still by Hand
We’re still in the hand-watering phase. This lets us feel the rhythm of the root zone, stay precise with volume and frequency, and avoid overstimulation before transplant. Gentle, responsive, and full of intent.
⸻
🔍 What This Week Is and Isn’t
What it is:
• A week of calm and preparation.
• A phase of steady growth, early leaf structure, and rooting.
• A time to align our tools and vision for what’s coming next.
What it isn’t:
• A transplant week (that’s next).
• A week for high feeding or rapid growth expectations.
⸻
🎥 On the Horizon – Big Things Coming
Next week, we’ll transplant to their final pots with a custom super soil recipe, setting them up for the long ride ahead.
But this week is about establishing rhythm. Rooting. Organizing. Letting the girls stretch their arms in peace.

🌱 Transplant Day – A Ritual of Roots
This week marks a huge step: our girls have moved into their forever homes, 11L Amnesia fabric pots, and they’re already loving the extra space.
The Mango Kush queens, along with Lava Cake Pheno 1 and Pheno 2 (only 4–5 days old, but already catching up), were hand-selected to move forward toward flowering. Their roots were strong, white, and vibrant, ready to stretch and expand.
Fabric pots were chosen for a reason:
Why Fabric Pots?
• Air pruning: Roots don’t circle and strangle—when they hit the pot’s breathable edge, they stop and branch instead.
• Breathability: Improves oxygen flow to the root zone.
• Drainage: Prevents overwatering and keeps the medium healthier longer.
• Mobility & structure: They hold shape while allowing movement, especially useful early in veg.
These pots don’t just hold soil, they shape roots, which shape the entire plant.
⸻
🌱 Soil Mix & Nutrient Support
The super soil mix was created with care and intention, using select amendments from Aptus Holland:
Transplant Soil Mix:
• Super soil base
• Aptus Mycor-Mix – Mycorrhizae to build root partnerships
• Aptus Micro-Mix – Adds beneficial bacteria for microbial balance
• Aptus Substrate Buffer Powder – pH stabilization & nutrient interaction balance
Feed Mix (per liter):
• Aptus Regulator – 0.15 ml: Strengthens cell walls and enhances nutrient transport
• Aptus CalMag Boost – 0.25 ml: Structural support for fast vegetative growth
• 💧 Aptus All-In-One Liquid – 1 ml: A complete, balanced base nutrient
• 🌱 Aptus Start Booster – 2 ml: Roots, roots, and more roots
Watering Stats:
• pH: 5.83
• EC: 1.01
• Water temp: 18.5°C
Each drop is measured with love, and the girls are responding with lush, deep green growth.
⸻
🌬️ Airflow, Filtration, and Clean Breathing
Air management is everything in a multi-strain tent, especially during veg. We’ve set up:
• Two 6-inch extraction systems
• TrolMaster AeroFan 6”, controlled through the full TrolMaster ecosystem
• Spider Farmer 6”, on a GGS controller for dynamic response
• Filtered intake to maintain positive pressure and pure airflow
🌫️ Why Carbon Filters So Early?
While many growers wait until flowering, we use carbon filters now to ensure clean air, remove any potential VOCs, and keep the space fresh—especially important in a shared environment. It’s about starting with purity and keeping it that way.
⸻
🧠 What This Week Is and Isn’t
What it is:
• A week of foundation setting: transplant, soil structure, environmental prep
• A time of root expansion and big shifts in the grow’s energy
• The moment our girls step into their long-term rhythm
• An opportunity to fine-tune TrolMaster automation for watering, climate, airflow
What it isn’t:
• A week for high-stress or pruning
• A time to push nutrients hard, everything is still about balance and observation
⸻
🎥 What’s Next?
Next week we dive into post-transplant development, what to expect, how to manage early stretch, and when to start preparing for training and shaping.
👉 Subscribe on YouTube so you don’t miss it, especially if you want to follow how two different Lava Cake phenos grow side-by-side with our queen Mango Kush.

🌱 Two Paths, One Queen’s Blood
This week marks a defining moment in the journey of our two Mango Kush phenotypes—Pheno #1 and Pheno #2—both sharing the same genetics, but taking very different roads toward flower.
⸻
👑 Mango Kush #1 – The Trailblazer
She’s taken the lead and she knows it.
Currently at her 8th or 9th node, she’s branching out beautifully, vigor, symmetry, structure. This girl is showing early signs of dominance, with a wide frame and a hunger for light. Her architecture screams “future canopy queen.”
📸 We took her to the photo studio again this week and wow. She’s a natural in front of the lens. Her structure is clean, confident, and glowing under the full-spectrum light.
⸻
🌱 Mango Kush #2 – The Rising Sister
Much younger, but full of potential. Currently pushing her 4th pair of leaves, this one was a late germination and is only about 2.5 weeks old since she popped above soil.
Despite her smaller size, there’s something familiar about her. Her leaf shape and structure closely mimic Mango #1 during her early days, tight internodes, round fans, calm posture. Genetics run strong here.
We’re keeping her in veg for as long as possible, but next week we’re flipping everything to flower, which means she’ll start blooming early. It’s not ideal, but it’s necessary, as the older girls (Mango #1, the Lava Cake and the rest of the sisters) are growing fast and space must be balanced.
⸻
💧 Nutrients – No Change, Still Precision
We’re keeping the Aptus Holland formula exactly as it is for this week. The girls are loving it, and there’s no sign of deficiency or excess. Here’s what they’re still getting in each liter:
• Regulator – 0.15 ml: Structure, resilience, and stress defense
• CalMag Boost – 0.25 ml: Building the skeleton
• 💧 All-In-One Liquid – 1 ml: A steady and complete base
• 🌱 Start Booster – 0.25 ml: For root expansion and early shoot development
This balanced, light recipe keeps things clean and focused, supporting both the rapid growth of Mango #1 and the early development of Mango #2.
⸻
🌡️ Lights, Climate, & Ecosystem Balance
Both Mango Kush plants are thriving under dual full-spectrum LEDs:
• TrolMaster ecosystem running the ThinkGrow Model One LED
• Future of Grow ecosystem running the Black Series 600W
Each system is tuned to maintain optimal light intensity for its space and phase. Climate conditions are steady thanks to active airflow, dual controllers, and filtered intake/exhaust setups.
💨 Carbon filters from TrolMaster and Spider Farmer keep the air clean and pure, even though we haven’t reached flower yet, clean air is good air, and early filtering helps prevent environmental noise and pathogens.
⸻
🔮 What to Expect… and What Not To
What to expect:
• Mango #1 will likely dominate flower structure, showing her potential early
• Mango #2 may surprise us with a compact, denser canopy due to earlier light flip
• Structural differences will emerge—same genetics, but different timelines = different expressions
• Visual comparisons will help us understand Mango Kush’s phenotypic range
What not to expect:
• Uniform results—they’re the same strain, but on very different developmental clocks
• Aggressive training—due to the timeline, we’re letting them grow mostly unmanipulated
⸻
📣 Final Words – Community & Curiosity
We thank you all for reading, growing, and following this journey with us.
✨ Every grow is a conversation between light, root, leaf, and time. And we’re sharing it all.
⸻
With light, love, and the rhythm of two sisters in sync but not the same,

• Room Temp: 31°C (a bit high, AC incoming)
• Humidity: 50.3%
• VPD: 2.23 kPa
• PPFD: 766 µmol/m²/s
• Soil EC: ~2.0
• Soil Temp: 25.6°C
• Watering: Daily (when soil dries to ~25% moisture)
⸻
⚠️ High Temperature Talk – Risks & Rewards
Risks:
• Higher temps speed up transpiration, meaning the plants take in water and nutrients faster, which can cause imbalances if not monitored.
• Combined with high VPD, temps can push plants close to stress thresholds.
Benefits (if managed well):
• Boosted metabolism → faster stretch and branch growth before bud set.
• With CO₂ at ~632 ppm, plants can tolerate slightly warmer temps without losing photosynthetic efficiency.
💡 Plan: An AC unit is on the way to lock temps into the sweet flower range of 26–28°C.

💧 Why Daily Watering Works Here
In these conditions, the Mango Kush girls are drinking daily. Letting the medium dry to about 25% before rewatering helps:
1. Prevent overwatering – Roots get oxygen between feedings.
2. Keep nutrients stable – Avoiding EC spikes/drops.
3. Match plant demand – Giving them exactly what they’re ready to drink.
Nutrients remain tat Aptus Holland recipe, now for flower, just with slightly increased volume to match their thirst.

🌱 Sibling Rivalry – Pheno #2’s Big Push
Pheno #2 may have started late, but she’s been stacking nodes and leaves like she’s got something to prove. At this rate, she might hit flower at nearly the same size as her big sister. This will be a fun side-by-side to watch—same genetics, different timelines.
⸻
💡 Inner Canopy Lighting – ThinkGrow ICL300
We’ve installed the ICL300, a bar-style LED designed to sit inside the canopy.
Why it matters for Mango Kush:
• Better Lower Buds – More intensity to shaded sites → denser flowers.
• Even Growth – Less height difference between top and bottom buds.
• Efficient Canopy Use – Every branch gets a fair shot at the light.
In multi-strain grows, inner canopy lights help prevent the smaller plants from being overshadowed, literally.
⸻
🔮 What’s Next
• AC arrives → temps stabilize → optimal VPD range.
• Expect pre-flower pistils to appear in the next 7–10 days.
• Watch Pheno #2’s progress—will she match #1 before the stretch is over?
• Continue using ICL300 to fill out the lower canopy for more even bud development.
