Schnabeldino Before we dive in – first of all, a MASSIVE thank you to FastBuds 🙌 and especially to Heather – you’re the MVP! Thank you for making this run possible. 💚💚
This time it’s something new - I’ll be growing a limited edition strain from FastBuds – Papayton! 💣 My first fems from Fastbuds.
ps: The sticker is not included, I printed it out myself. If it's up to me there should be a sticker in every pack 😂
Papayton = Gary Payton x Gelato x Lemonpaya
This cross combines three absolute heavyweights:
🔸 Gary Payton – from the legendary Cookies genetic line
🔸 Gelato – a classic from Sherbinskis
🔸 Lemonpaya – bringing in that tropical freshness
The result? A terpene profile described as sweet, fruity, and just like a creamy sherbet ice cream. 🍧 Tropical, smooth, with a citrusy twist – right up my alley!
🌸 Flowering time: 9–10 weeks
we’ll see if the weather cooperates. Could end up getting pretty warm… so it’s going to be interesting!
Now a quick word about the name:
📛 Papayton is a clever mashup of "Papaya" (aka Lemonpaya) and "Payton" – the last name of Gary Payton, one of the most legendary NBA point guards of the '90s. 🏀
So why name a strain after Gary Payton? Because it’s strong, precise, and packs a punch – just like he did on the court. The Gary Payton strain earned its name in the scene thanks to its exceptional flavor and effects – so this new twist is a proper tribute to the basketball icon. 💪🔥
I’m super hyped to see what Papayton brings to the table – looks, terps, effects... it sounds like the full package.
Peace & Happy Growing 🌿
🦖

02.07 - soaked the seed in water for 12 hours (overnight)
03.07 - put the seed between a few cotton pads to germinate, after 24 hours Papayton was ready to plant.
04.07 - both seeds have now germinated and were planted in the 1 liter pots, 1 mg of Mycorrhiza spores (Mycrotrex) was added to the hole where the seed was placed. I think tomorrow is birthday 🎈🎊
06.07 - Baby payton is born - here's to a short but beautiful life
12.07 - Last Day of the Week - I left the dome out of sight for a day to keep the humidity, water settled on the first leaves and couldn't dry out, so it started to rot a bit. It won't be a problem, as you can see it has coped well and is already pushing out new leaves. so always make sure that no drops of water collect on the leaves and that it can't dry out.

Day 10 🌞
🔸The first and most exciting week is over, I think we've made it and nothing can get in the way. She looks healthy and happy...for now... 😇💪
🔸When the first small roots appeared at the edge of the pot, I watered the whole pot straight away, which was about 200-250 ml...I'm looking forward to the Bio Tabs and finally watering with normal water is very relaxing. I added 0.5 g of Bactrex and 5 ml of Orgatrex to the irrigation water and watered the pot once.
🔸still waiting 😂

Day 18 🌞
🔸Papayton is doing great, the nodal spacing is a bit dense, but this is not really a problem, probably the light is a bit too strong. Theoretically I can already top them, maybe I'll do that in 1-2 days.
🔸I have watered them twice this week, completely with minimal drainage. I think I will transplant them into the 15 L fabric pot after topping

Schnabeldino _______________📅 Week 4 | 📅 Day 22 - 28 | _______________
Day 24 🌞
🔸At the start of the fourth week, Papayton was topped to promote bushier growth and better branching. I topped it after the fourth node and removed the bottom two shoots, leaving me with six main branches to start with. Immediately afterwards, I repotted it into the final fabric pot with a capacity of 15 liters (I stuffed it a little so that 18 liters would fit). This is the first time I've used fabric pots, mainly because I won them last month. I usually prefer plastic, but these are suitable for the current project.
🔸For the new substrate, 20 liters of soil were mixed with 100 g of Startrex. 5 g of Mycotrex were scattered into the planting hole and 2 Bio Tabs were pressed about 10 cm into the soil, close to the root ball. After planting, the plant was watered with 5 liters of water enriched with 5 g of Bactrex and 50 ml of Orgatrex.
🔸So far, there are no visible differences compared to mineral fertilization. The plant looks healthy and vigorous, and growth is stable. Let's see how it copes with repotting and topping this week. In addition, I am again using a sensor to monitor the moisture in the soil, which sends me a notification as soon as the soil reaches 30% moisture.

Schnabeldino 📅 Week 5 | 🗓️ Day 29–35
Day 31 – "Low Stress, Big Progress" 🌿
🔸 Papayton has officially bounced back from the topping and repotting adventure of last week! No drama to report: no droopy leaves, no weird colors, no signs of deficiency. The green is lush, growth is strong, and Papayton is clearly enjoying her organic lifestyle. Compared to the Week 4, the growth this week is seriously impressive – she’s spreading out like she’s claiming the whole tent as her own. We’ve started some gentle LST, just enough to encourage her to stretch out those limbs and let the light in. Think of it as a leafy yoga session.
🔸 The six main branches are developing beautifully and evenly – no divas here, just team players. The canopy is getting flatter and wider, setting the stage for a great structure going into the next phase.
🔸 The moisture sensor has been doing its job, alerting me like a loyal sidekick when it hits 30%. Only one light watering was needed this week, thanks to the fluffy 18L soil mix holding moisture well.
🔸 So far, the organic nutrient line-up (Startrex, Mycotrex, Bio Tabs, Bactrex, and Orgatrex) is keeping up with the pace – no noticeable difference from mineral feeding at this point, but it's early days. The real test is coming...

Schnabeldino 📅 Week 6 | 🗓️ Day 36–42
Day 42 – "Growing Strong, Playing the Long Game" 🏀🌿
🔸 Papayton is looking lush and vibrant this week – broad fan leaves, strong side branches, and an overall healthy, vigorous appearance. The plant fills out the fabric pot nicely and is clearly thriving in the current setup. Growth is bushy and compact, with tight internodes, which should result in a dense flower structure later on.
🔸Stress? Not at all! Papayton has been allowed to grow without disturbance, and it shows – the side branches are already noticeably thick. Due to limited space in the tent, there were no major interventions this week. In one to two weeks at most, it will be time to move into the larger tent, switch the lights, and start the flowering phase....the real show begins – and judging by its current growth, the bloom phase should be quite impressive.

Day 49 – Papayton 🏀🌿
🔸 This week, Papayton has once again shown her best side. Even though she’s getting quite thirsty and I originally wanted to switch her to bloom a week earlier, she’ll have to wait a little longer – my tent is still occupied. Despite that, she’s bringing me a lot of joy right now.
🔸I’m still absolutely happy with the Only-Water Method combined with the BIO Tabs. It’s so simple and, best of all, Papayton looks fantastic! Her leaves are big, beautifully serrated, and a deep, rich green – a true sign of strength and health.
🔸Next week, she’s finally going into bloom, and I’m really excited to see what’s ahead. If she keeps going like this, it can only turn out great!

Schnabeldino 📅 Week 8 | 🗓️ Days 50–56 – Start of week 9 | first signs of flowering 🌸
Day 56 - Papayton 🚀🏀
🔸 Very vigorous this week: broad, even canopy with lots of tops; the stem is solid with nice “knuckles” from training. Lower shoots are tidy – air and light are getting through well. Leaves are rich green, upright, and without burns. The first pistils are appearing at the nodes and tips – the transition to flowering has begun.
🔸 Setup: on 12/12 since day 50. With ~700 PPFD approx. DLI ≈ 30 mol/m²/day – ideal for stretch/transition. Maintain a distance of ~40 cm and adjust during stretch. Over the next few days, I will increase to approximately 900 PPFD.
🔸Biotabs & water only: continue as before. Keep pH at around 6.2, maintain even moisture (no hard drybacks). Only add more if there are clear signs of deficiency – otherwise, don't force anything.
🔸In week 9, small flower clusters should form; if necessary, lightly defoliate and provide support sticks/trellis so that the tops can start cleanly.

Schnabeldino 📅 Week 9 | 🗓️ Day 57–63
Day 63 – Papayton 🏀 (first week flower)
🔸Papayton has started flowering vigorously: fresh, white stigmas and clearly defined buds everywhere. Compared to Lemon Cherry Runtz, it stands a little straighter and airier, with longer internodes and a few “spearheads” pushing above the canopy – I keep these in line with slight bending/tying so that light and air can pass through evenly.
🔸The SANlight continues to run at 90% at a distance of approx. 30 cm; around 900 PPFD reaches the canopy, with no signs of light stress. The leaves look relaxed, the green is rich – just right for the stretch. Here, too, only water was used for watering; it drinks reliably and remains stable. Next week, I'll start with BIO PK from BioTabs, gently dosed to support fresh flower formation.
🔸Bottom line: very vigorous growth, evenly distributed pre-flowers – the Papayton is visibly comfortable and promises a uniform, well-stocked flowering phase.

Day 70 – Papayton 🏀 (2nd week flower)
🔸Papayton is growing vigorously in week 10 and is slightly ahead of Lemon Cherry Runtz in terms of size. The canopy is wider and the spearheads are slightly higher – exactly where the flower clusters are now really taking off. The pictures show densely packed calyxes with long, creamy white stigmas; the sugar leaves are already nicely pollinated and the buds are starting to stack up. So far, everything looks great.
🔸The SANlight remains at 90% and ~30 cm distance (approx. 900 PPFD at the canopy). The leaves appear relaxed, without claws or lightening – so no indication of light stress. I keep the climate rather moderate, with good air circulation through the foliage so that the fresh resin heads remain dry. It's a bit cold at the moment, so I can't quite reach the VPD, but I'm not going to put a heater in, hehe.
🔸I watered as planned with BIO PK from BioTabs – carefully following the manufacturer's instructions. Otherwise, only water. The goal: to push flower formation without compromising leaf health.Depending on how it develops, next time I will either just water it or give it a top dressing with Slizium Flash.

Schnabeldino 📅 Week 11 | 🗓️ Day 71–77
Day 77 – Week 3 til 4 of flower 🌸Papayton 🏀
🔸This week the girls really started packing it on. Buds are swelling up nicely, calyxes are stacked, and those creamy white pistils are shooting out everywhere like little antennas. The sugar leaves are already frosting up heavy – trichomes glisten under the light, and you can tell the resin production is kicking into high gear. Colas are shaping up, and it’s clear where the big towers are gonna form.
🔸The foliage continues to look healthy: a rich green color with no signs of over-fertilization, no claws, and no noticeable deficiencies. The sugar leaves are already well coated with resin, which is a very good sign. The pictures show that the flower structure is growing compactly and vigorously—the plant is in full flow. I will give her BIO PK again for the next watering. She looks like she could use a little more.
🔸The SANlight is now running constantly at 100% with a distance of approx. 35 cm (approx. 1000 PPFD). To ensure that it produces more heat, I have positioned it slightly higher. The leaves appear relaxed and show no signs of stress. The climate remains stable, albeit slightly cool, during the day I achieve almost perfect values of 1.4-1.6 VPD, slightly less on very cool days., but the flowers look very fresh and compact as a result. Good air circulation ensures that the fine resin heads do not become damp.
Climate is right in the sweet spot too:
📈 average daily values
🌡️ Temp = 25 - 26 °C
💨 Humidity = 50 - 55 %
🌬️ VPD = 1.40 - 1,60 kPa
That’s pretty much perfect – low enough RH to keep mold away, but still comfy for the plants. Fans are running on level 5, dehu is on for more temp.
All in all, a super stable week. Plants are cruising, stacking, and starting to pack on that frost. Things are about to get really fun from here. 🚀

Schnabeldino 📅 Week 13 | Flowering week 5–6 –– Papayton 🏀
🔸This week was all about keeping things stable — and it’s paying off big time! The dehumidifier is doing an amazing job, humidity’s on point, and nighttime temps are dropping nicely to around 17–18°C. Perfect conditions for some beautiful color expression. No stress, no issues — just smooth sailing and steady growth. Honestly, I couldn’t be happier with how she’s coming along. 🌿🔥
🔸Papayton is looking absolutely stunning right now: dense, frosty buds covered in trichomes, giving off that sweet, tropical scent. The pistils are turning a warm orange, and the leaves are showing those gorgeous purple hues — a clear sign she’s deep into her bloom phase.
🔸There were a few yellowed leaves at the bottom, which were removed. I treated the ladies to a top dressing with Silicium Flash 100g, otherwise they only got pure water – they are standing there full and satisfied.
🔸In short: stable conditions, strong development, and Papayton shining — literally.
