Schnabeldino Before we dive in β first of all, a MASSIVE thank you to FastBuds π and especially to Heather β youβre the MVP! Thank you for making this run possible. ππ
This time itβs something new - Iβll be growing a limited edition strain from FastBuds β Papayton! π£ My first fems from Fastbuds.
ps: The sticker is not included, I printed it out myself. If it's up to me there should be a sticker in every pack π
Papayton = Gary Payton x Gelato x Lemonpaya
This cross combines three absolute heavyweights:
πΈ Gary Payton β from the legendary Cookies genetic line
πΈ Gelato β a classic from Sherbinskis
πΈ Lemonpaya β bringing in that tropical freshness
The result? A terpene profile described as sweet, fruity, and just like a creamy sherbet ice cream. π§ Tropical, smooth, with a citrusy twist β right up my alley!
πΈ Flowering time: 9β10 weeks
weβll see if the weather cooperates. Could end up getting pretty warmβ¦ so itβs going to be interesting!
Now a quick word about the name:
π Papayton is a clever mashup of "Papaya" (aka Lemonpaya) and "Payton" β the last name of Gary Payton, one of the most legendary NBA point guards of the '90s. π
So why name a strain after Gary Payton? Because itβs strong, precise, and packs a punch β just like he did on the court. The Gary Payton strain earned its name in the scene thanks to its exceptional flavor and effects β so this new twist is a proper tribute to the basketball icon. πͺπ₯
Iβm super hyped to see what Papayton brings to the table β looks, terps, effects... it sounds like the full package.
Peace & Happy Growing πΏ
π¦
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
02.07 - soaked the seed in water for 12 hours (overnight)
03.07 - put the seed between a few cotton pads to germinate, after 24 hours Papayton was ready to plant.
04.07 - both seeds have now germinated and were planted in the 1 liter pots, 1 mg of Mycorrhiza spores (Mycrotrex) was added to the hole where the seed was placed. I think tomorrow is birthday ππ
06.07 - Baby payton is born - here's to a short but beautiful life
12.07 - Last Day of the Week - I left the dome out of sight for a day to keep the humidity, water settled on the first leaves and couldn't dry out, so it started to rot a bit. It won't be a problem, as you can see it has coped well and is already pushing out new leaves. so always make sure that no drops of water collect on the leaves and that it can't dry out.

Schnabeldino _______________π Week 4 | π Day 22 - 28 | _______________
Day 24 π
πΈAt the start of the fourth week, Papayton was topped to promote bushier growth and better branching. I topped it after the fourth node and removed the bottom two shoots, leaving me with six main branches to start with. Immediately afterwards, I repotted it into the final fabric pot with a capacity of 15 liters (I stuffed it a little so that 18 liters would fit). This is the first time I've used fabric pots, mainly because I won them last month. I usually prefer plastic, but these are suitable for the current project.
πΈFor the new substrate, 20 liters of soil were mixed with 100 g of Startrex. 5 g of Mycotrex were scattered into the planting hole and 2 Bio Tabs were pressed about 10 cm into the soil, close to the root ball. After planting, the plant was watered with 5 liters of water enriched with 5 g of Bactrex and 50 ml of Orgatrex.
πΈSo far, there are no visible differences compared to mineral fertilization. The plant looks healthy and vigorous, and growth is stable. Let's see how it copes with repotting and topping this week. In addition, I am again using a sensor to monitor the moisture in the soil, which sends me a notification as soon as the soil reaches 30% moisture.

Schnabeldino π Week 5 | ποΈ Day 29β35
Day 31 β "Low Stress, Big Progress" πΏ
πΈ Papayton has officially bounced back from the topping and repotting adventure of last week! No drama to report: no droopy leaves, no weird colors, no signs of deficiency. The green is lush, growth is strong, and Papayton is clearly enjoying her organic lifestyle. Compared to the Week 4, the growth this week is seriously impressive β sheβs spreading out like sheβs claiming the whole tent as her own. Weβve started some gentle LST, just enough to encourage her to stretch out those limbs and let the light in. Think of it as a leafy yoga session.
πΈ The six main branches are developing beautifully and evenly β no divas here, just team players. The canopy is getting flatter and wider, setting the stage for a great structure going into the next phase.
πΈ The moisture sensor has been doing its job, alerting me like a loyal sidekick when it hits 30%. Only one light watering was needed this week, thanks to the fluffy 18L soil mix holding moisture well.
πΈ So far, the organic nutrient line-up (Startrex, Mycotrex, Bio Tabs, Bactrex, and Orgatrex) is keeping up with the pace β no noticeable difference from mineral feeding at this point, but it's early days. The real test is coming...

Schnabeldino π Week 6 | ποΈ Day 36β42
Day 42 β "Growing Strong, Playing the Long Game" ππΏ
πΈ Papayton is looking lush and vibrant this week β broad fan leaves, strong side branches, and an overall healthy, vigorous appearance. The plant fills out the fabric pot nicely and is clearly thriving in the current setup. Growth is bushy and compact, with tight internodes, which should result in a dense flower structure later on.
πΈStress? Not at all! Papayton has been allowed to grow without disturbance, and it shows β the side branches are already noticeably thick. Due to limited space in the tent, there were no major interventions this week. In one to two weeks at most, it will be time to move into the larger tent, switch the lights, and start the flowering phase....the real show begins β and judging by its current growth, the bloom phase should be quite impressive.

πΈ This week, Papayton has once again shown her best side. Even though sheβs getting quite thirsty and I originally wanted to switch her to bloom a week earlier, sheβll have to wait a little longer β my tent is still occupied. Despite that, sheβs bringing me a lot of joy right now.
πΈIβm still absolutely happy with the Only-Water Method combined with the BIO Tabs. Itβs so simple and, best of all, Papayton looks fantastic! Her leaves are big, beautifully serrated, and a deep, rich green β a true sign of strength and health.
πΈNext week, sheβs finally going into bloom, and Iβm really excited to see whatβs ahead. If she keeps going like this, it can only turn out great!

Schnabeldino π Week 8 | ποΈ Days 50β56 β Start of week 9 | first signs of flowering πΈ
Day 56 - Papayton ππ
πΈ Very vigorous this week: broad, even canopy with lots of tops; the stem is solid with nice βknucklesβ from training. Lower shoots are tidy β air and light are getting through well. Leaves are rich green, upright, and without burns. The first pistils are appearing at the nodes and tips β the transition to flowering has begun.
πΈ Setup: on 12/12 since day 50. With ~700 PPFD approx. DLI β 30 mol/mΒ²/day β ideal for stretch/transition. Maintain a distance of ~40 cm and adjust during stretch. Over the next few days, I will increase to approximately 900 PPFD.
πΈBiotabs & water only: continue as before. Keep pH at around 6.2, maintain even moisture (no hard drybacks). Only add more if there are clear signs of deficiency β otherwise, don't force anything.
πΈIn week 9, small flower clusters should form; if necessary, lightly defoliate and provide support sticks/trellis so that the tops can start cleanly.

Schnabeldino π Week 9 | ποΈ Day 57β63
Day 63 β Papayton π (first week flower)
πΈPapayton has started flowering vigorously: fresh, white stigmas and clearly defined buds everywhere. Compared to Lemon Cherry Runtz, it stands a little straighter and airier, with longer internodes and a few βspearheadsβ pushing above the canopy β I keep these in line with slight bending/tying so that light and air can pass through evenly.
πΈThe SANlight continues to run at 90% at a distance of approx. 30 cm; around 900 PPFD reaches the canopy, with no signs of light stress. The leaves look relaxed, the green is rich β just right for the stretch. Here, too, only water was used for watering; it drinks reliably and remains stable. Next week, I'll start with BIO PK from BioTabs, gently dosed to support fresh flower formation.
πΈBottom line: very vigorous growth, evenly distributed pre-flowers β the Papayton is visibly comfortable and promises a uniform, well-stocked flowering phase.

Day 70 β Papayton π (2nd week flower)
πΈPapayton is growing vigorously in week 10 and is slightly ahead of Lemon Cherry Runtz in terms of size. The canopy is wider and the spearheads are slightly higher β exactly where the flower clusters are now really taking off. The pictures show densely packed calyxes with long, creamy white stigmas; the sugar leaves are already nicely pollinated and the buds are starting to stack up. So far, everything looks great.
πΈThe SANlight remains at 90% and ~30 cm distance (approx. 900 PPFD at the canopy). The leaves appear relaxed, without claws or lightening β so no indication of light stress. I keep the climate rather moderate, with good air circulation through the foliage so that the fresh resin heads remain dry. It's a bit cold at the moment, so I can't quite reach the VPD, but I'm not going to put a heater in, hehe.
πΈI watered as planned with BIO PK from BioTabs β carefully following the manufacturer's instructions. Otherwise, only water. The goal: to push flower formation without compromising leaf health.Depending on how it develops, next time I will either just water it or give it a top dressing with Slizium Flash.

Schnabeldino π Week 11 | ποΈ Day 71β77
Day 77 β Week 3 til 4 of flower πΈPapayton π
πΈThis week the girls really started packing it on. Buds are swelling up nicely, calyxes are stacked, and those creamy white pistils are shooting out everywhere like little antennas. The sugar leaves are already frosting up heavy β trichomes glisten under the light, and you can tell the resin production is kicking into high gear. Colas are shaping up, and itβs clear where the big towers are gonna form.
πΈThe foliage continues to look healthy: a rich green color with no signs of over-fertilization, no claws, and no noticeable deficiencies. The sugar leaves are already well coated with resin, which is a very good sign. The pictures show that the flower structure is growing compactly and vigorouslyβthe plant is in full flow. I will give her BIO PK again for the next watering. She looks like she could use a little more.
πΈThe SANlight is now running constantly at 100% with a distance of approx. 35 cm (approx. 1000 PPFD). To ensure that it produces more heat, I have positioned it slightly higher. The leaves appear relaxed and show no signs of stress. The climate remains stable, albeit slightly cool, during the day I achieve almost perfect values of 1.4-1.6 VPD, slightly less on very cool days., but the flowers look very fresh and compact as a result. Good air circulation ensures that the fine resin heads do not become damp.
Climate is right in the sweet spot too:
π average daily values
π‘οΈ Temp = 25 - 26 Β°C
π¨ Humidity = 50 - 55 %
π¬οΈ VPD = 1.40 - 1,60 kPa
Thatβs pretty much perfect β low enough RH to keep mold away, but still comfy for the plants. Fans are running on level 5, dehu is on for more temp.
All in all, a super stable week. Plants are cruising, stacking, and starting to pack on that frost. Things are about to get really fun from here. π

πΈThis week was all about keeping things stable β and itβs paying off big time! The dehumidifier is doing an amazing job, humidityβs on point, and nighttime temps are dropping nicely to around 17β18Β°C. Perfect conditions for some beautiful color expression. No stress, no issues β just smooth sailing and steady growth. Honestly, I couldnβt be happier with how sheβs coming along. πΏπ₯
πΈPapayton is looking absolutely stunning right now: dense, frosty buds covered in trichomes, giving off that sweet, tropical scent. The pistils are turning a warm orange, and the leaves are showing those gorgeous purple hues β a clear sign sheβs deep into her bloom phase.
πΈThere were a few yellowed leaves at the bottom, which were removed. I treated the ladies to a top dressing with Silicium Flash 100g, otherwise they only got pure water β they are standing there full and satisfied.

Schnabeldino π Week 14 | Flowering week 7-8 β Papayton π
πΈPapaytonβs absolutely thriving this week. The buds are stacked, dense, and sparkling with trichomes β showing off those deep purple hues and fiery orange hairs. Sheβs really leaning into her autumn look now, with rich colors and that frosty finish that screams almost harvest time. πβ¨
πΈTrichomes are mostly milky at this point, so weβre right on the edge. One, maybe two more weeks and itβll be time to chop. This week she was watered twice with plain water β still pretty thirsty, which shows sheβs pushing strong to the finish line. π§
πΈConditions have been stable all week, and Papaytonβs clearly loving it. She feels firm to the touch, smells incredible, and is showing all the signs of a well-dialed grow in the final stretch.
In short β sheβs in full-on showtime mode, getting ready to drop the mic before harvest. π€πΏ

@Mr_und_Ms_Lue_Roots, Yaaa this will be a maiden voyage ππ The first time photos from Fastbuds and Bio Tabs, but we are totally looking forward to it π Thank you so much πΉ
@All_our_small_plants, We are at least as hyped as everyone here π so far it's going pretty well, just waiting until there's space again and then it's straight into flowering π
@KurtHighgrade, It all started when I was allowed to choose the prices from the DOTM, so I asked nicely and then one thing led to another π π
Thank you very much - I hope she will be a beauty ππ
@MrGoonai, You can only be half as sad, I made the sticker myself, unfortunately it wasn't included hehe :D Yes, the packages look very cool, but I also got a golden one, so it's kind of different what someone gets.
I can't wait to see when you start :)
