German_GrowLab A wonderful good day, dear Grow community, and a warm welcome to the Germination Week of my super small outdoor project! No panic, the other plants are doing well, and this is not a pathetic attempt to save the season :). The other day, when I was strolling through my "plantation," I noticed that there’s still some soil visible here and there (and that just won't do). It occurred to me that theoretically, I could still raise two ladies, and I also need to make space in my seed stash to, well... get some new seeds. So, I rummaged through the stash and came across a few Automatics from Mephisto Genetics. They should do the trick… Since I'm already a bit behind schedule, I don't expect a mammoth yield, but for a little appetizer, it should be enough :). On the menu are: Sour Stomper (Mephisto Genetics) Grape Stomper Og × Sour Crack F5: Fruity sour with an euphoric high. Sky Stomper (Mephisto Genetics) Skywalker × Forum Stomper F3: It reached me by chance (the seed bank sent me these instead of the Sour Stomper), promising fruity floral aromas. So, let's get started… The seeds went into water for 24 hours, following the classic procedure, and then into damp paper towels, which I taped to a cupboard to get a nice straight taproot. The preparation of the soil mix is a bit different than with my photoperiod plants. Since autoflowers are allergic to repotting, I placed the seeds directly into their final pots after germination. These were filled with 2/3 pre-fertilized soil: Lightmix + Coco (in the same ratio as with the photoperiods) + a handful of worm humus + 1 g/L Biogrow. The rest was just filled with Lightmix to allow the little ones to root as stress-free as possible. This way, the roots can penetrate the nutrient-rich layers as the plant grows. The pots were then watered with a compost tea (see another report) and fermented for just two days due to time constraints. Since the little ones are still very sensitive and the weather is just not cooperating, they’ve moved into the box for now to regain their strength. Every hour of sunlight counts for automatics. I’m now eagerly following the weather report for the next few days before I set the little ones out. That’s it for now. I’ll check back in with you on Sunday… Until then, have a great rest of the week. Peace

German_GrowLab A wonderful good day, dear grow community, and a warm welcome to the first week of my super tiny outdoor project! (If necessary, I might come up with a different intro for this report so it doesn't turn into a copy-paste report nonsense. I just haven't thought of anything creative yet)😅. Buuut that's not what this report is about. The autos have really kicked off, and after not checking the tent for two days, my jaw dropped. Compared to the indoor phase of my other report, this is like night and day.😂 One reason for the vigorous growth could be that I gave the little ones a bit of my phytohormone-rich manure (see my other report for the preparation). However, I was quite cautious since autoflowers are a bit more sensitive to feeding (in this case, more like plant strengthening). So, I diluted the original stock solution in a 1:10 ratio and then diluted it with water again by another factor of two before applying it to the plants. Here are the benefits of the manure once again: + Improvement of soil structure + Increase in stress tolerance + Promotion of growth through phytohormones + Increase in microbial diversity + Improve phosphorus uptake through better breakdown in the soil. + Suppression of harmful organisms + A good and already plant-available source of silica And so on and so forth… Next, I applied a layer of mulch (if interested, please also check my other report). The base for this is a bio rodent bedding, which I aerated in water (preferably rainwater) using an aeration stone for three days to multiply the bacteria living on the bedding. After that, I sprayed a leaf spray in the form of a biostimulator to make the plants more resistant to external stress and improve their nutrient uptake. All in all, I am very satisfied with the development.😊 However, I will keep the plants in the box a bit longer due to the weather. That’s it for this report. I wish you all a nice rest of the week (hopefully with better weather).😁

German_GrowLab A wonderful good day, dear Grow community, and a warm welcome to the second week of my super tiny outdoor project! And what can I say, I like what I see… The ladies are really growing and so far show no deficiencies or complaints. Apparently, the manure treatment has worked wonders and given the little ones a nice boost. I probably should have given the manure to my other plants a bit earlier so it could have more influence on their vegetative growth. But as they say, you never stop learning :). But what happened last week? I went all out with my usual plant feel-good protocol. This consists of a dose of compost tea to keep the soil life active. Additionally, there was a little boost in the form of Epsom salt (I explained the benefits in my other report). But the baseline is a preventive supply of magnesium, which fundamentally helps the plant with photosynthesis, but is also involved in many other physiological processes. Sulfur plays a key role in protein formation, but also adds value to fruit/flower formation as well as secondary compounds (which will become interesting later in the flowering stage). It also has soil-improving properties. A true all-rounder. And lastly… …I simply poured a diluted solution of the manure at a ratio of 1:20 again (just to see how far you can take it). So everything is “for the sake of science” and I admit I’m hoping for a little quality/yield increase. I hope I wasn’t too greedy and messed things up by playing god. Lastly, I removed a few of the fan leaves to give the underlying shoots a chance to catch up. I prefer to do that rather than topping the plant, as I find it leads to a greater growth stop. One last word about growth: There are indeed noticeable phenotypic differences (in terms of height), which I always find very exciting. Let’s see how they develop in the near future. Now it’s time to wait and eagerly check the weather report so we can let the little ones into their outdoor accommodation soon. That’s it for this week. I wish you all a nice rest of the week. Peace

German_GrowLab A wonderful good day, dear Grow community, and a warm welcome to the third week of my super tiny outdoor project! This time with little news but big updates… We are not only officially in flowering but finally outdoors! Another week under the lamp really gave the little ones a good boost. I had turned the lamp up a bit (40%) and increased the distance to the plants. Both seem to have been well received, and when I checked back in the box, the Sour Stomper had grown a bit into the lamp. That's why it now has a slight curve in the main stem. Not too dramatic since it shows no burns or anything like that. Before I took the two outside, they received some compost tea and a bit of Siapton (biostimulator). This is meant to help protect the little ones from the stress of the extreme heat in the coming days. Additionally, I doubled the mulch layer to counteract excessive evaporation. In terms of growth, there are now significant differences. The Sky Stomper is coming along a bit more branched and compact. Meanwhile, the Tour Stomper shows a classic auto growth with a head bud and four side branches. I’m excited to see how they develop in the coming days… That’s it for today, you’ll hear from me again on Sunday. Until then, have a great weekend, enjoy the weather! Peace

German_GrowLab A wonderful good day, dear grow community, and a warm welcome to the fourth week of my super small outdoor project! The sunny days are doing their part, and the plants have settled well into the flowering stage. The Sour Stomper has reached its final size and is focusing on bud formation. Unfortunately, both plants are showing signs of nitrogen deficiency on the older leaves, which I reacted to a bit too late. I had assumed that the plants were adequately covered by the grow nutrients, but I ended up having to apply a small top-dress grow (2 g/L) again. However, this now needs to be made available to the plants by the soil life, which takes a few days. I've set up an AACT to boost the soil life a bit more and hopefully speed up the nutrient uptake. Aside from the small deficiency, the plants look very healthy and are soaking up the hot days. I'm just hoping the weather stays like this. Until then, have a great rest of the week. Peace

German_GrowLab A wonderful good day, dear grow community, and a warm welcome to the fifth week of my super tiny outdoor project! We are slowly approaching the end of our journey, at least with the Sour Stomper. Unfortunately, just as we were nearing the finish line, a pest infestation crept in. During my inspection, I first spotted the affected leaves and then quickly identified the cause. A f***ing caterpillar... Not great, but still better than a proper spider mite infestation. I removed some of the not-so-pretty leaves due to the nitrogen deficiency and relocated the caterpillar (I'm hoping for some good karma here). Speaking of nitrogen deficiency: Since I reacted too late to the deficiency, the help will probably come a bit too late. I just hope I can get the additional nitrogen fertilizer out of the soil before it gets to the little one. The Sky Stomper looks significantly more vigorous. I'm less worried about her. Lastly, the ladies, like their photoperiod friends, received another dose of manure. I didn't dilute the dose again. I think they can handle it. But we'll see in the next few days. Maybe the manure will help get a bit more out of the Sour Stomper. We will see... Next week, there will be an update on the smell. Until then, have a nice rest of the week. Peace

German_GrowLab A wonderful good day, dear grow community, and a warm welcome to the sixth week of my super small outdoor project! And it looks like this journey is coming to an end soon…😊 Unfortunately, I couldn't be with the plants this week, which is why I can't say anything new about the smell. What I can say (based on the photos) is that the little ones have really bulked up again, and the resin production is slowly heading in the right direction (at least for an outdoor/autoflower).😁 The caterpillar problem hasn't spread according to initial findings, so I just assume they understood the warning.😅 Visually, I'm actually quite satisfied (if you overlook the feeding damage and the deficiency). However, the second one does bother me a bit since we're losing potential from the plant. But since this is my first run with the Greenhouse Powder feeding, I don't want to be too hard on myself. If we were doing it all mineral, it would probably look different (maybe applying some urea to the leaves for quick absorption), but that's not allowed for organic farming (as it's semi-synthetic to synthetic depending on production). Of course, one could have also worked with chicken manure (but unfortunately, neither time nor chickens are available). With the skystomper, I might still be able to save something with organic liquid fertilizer, but I would need to weigh whether it's worth it. In the next report, there will be the (certainly eagerly awaited) smell report.😂 Until then, have a nice rest of the week!

German_GrowLab A wonderful good day, dear grow community, and a warm welcome to the seventh week of my super small outdoor project! This edition features the long-awaited smell update plus the last days of the Sour Stomper. Let's start with the scent profile of both plants: – The Sour Stomper: At first, it comes with the classic diesel terps, accompanied by a slight citrus note. Towards the end, the diesel notes fade away, and a strong grape aroma takes over. The buds are consistently very compact and show no signs of foxtails or other stress reactions, even though they look quite ragged and I haven't watered them for a good week. The Sour Stomper has already had the scissors "at its neck" twice. However, I decided to leave it a bit longer, which was confirmed by another look through the microscope. The Sky Stomper has significantly more bag appeal, but it lacks a bit in the terps department. It also has grape notes and a certain citrus-diesel note, but it's noticeably weaker than the Sour Stomper. But that's just a tendency for now. The Sky Stomper still has some time to catch up. I've now decided to give at least the Sky Stomper a bit of nitrogen in the form of Biobizz Fishmix (4 ml/L). Simply because it still needs a bit more time, and I want to get more out of its potential. I just hope that the help didn't come too late... I will probably harvest the Sour Stomper tomorrow or the day after and take a few final photos of it. Until then, I wish you all a nice rest of the week.

German_GrowLab Soooo, here’s the final update on my little auto-outdoor project. Unfortunately, with a little setback. But everything in its own time. The Sour Stomper was harvested on 09/04. A little trim of the larger sun leaves and then into the Dryferm. And here I unfortunately made a serious mistake. I didn’t check the head bud thoroughly enough and thus didn’t discover the mold growth in time. It then spread during the drying period (thankfully only in one bud). What’s really annoying is that the overall weight (which was already modest) has been significantly affected. But occasional failures are just part of the game sometimes. All in all, I had fun cultivating it, and considering it was just a small side project, I’m happy with every gram of head stash. The terps transported well, and I’ll provide a tasting update over the coming weeks. It’s a bit of a shame that my first harvest on this portal turned out this way. However, I also want to reflect on the failures (which are just part of the process). I want to thank everyone who accompanied me on this journey, and I hope that despite the occasional mistake, you could take something away from it. Peace

The idea to tape your papter towl bag to the wall so that gravity can affect the seedlings is genuis. I will do this from now on. Thanks for the inspiration. I love the detail of your diary, and thoroughness. Plants are looking beautiful. Good luck!
