Germination
3mo ago
MindFlowers68 Starting my next round of seeds for fall indoor harvest. This will be most likely be the last round before winter. Not unless I find a place I can set up in the winter. My friend got me some ocean forest for helping him. I used that as a base for my starter 5 gallon pots. Man does it smell good. It always brings back memories of Humboldt when i get a bag of fox farm. I mixed it 50/50 with my peat moss, pearlite and vermiculite mix with a few organic nutrients. Gia Green 4-4-4, neem seed meal, fish bone meal, insect frass, glacial rock dust, dolomite lime, a little bit of dry boogie brew and 1 cf of crush lava rock. The day after sitting in the tent at temp you can see the fungal microbial network start to come alive and visible on the edge of the pots. I dug the centers out and made a nutrient-less mix for the seed to germinate in without risk of being burned. After placing overnight soaked seed in 5 gallon pot it took 3 days to for seed to sprout.

MindFlowers68 Shes doing good. A little cold at night right now because drying my autos but everything looks great. Just misting the top every other day with plain water. The fungal/ microbial activity in the soil is going wild its growing out the side of the pots. That fox farm is loaded with good biology.

MindFlowers68 Shes looking pretty good. A little bit of variegation. May be a little cold in the clone tent due to me drying buds in the studio. Other than that I watered with a little bit of aloe to help with root development. Followed it with compost tea and let the roots dry out slowly the entire week.

MindFlowers68 The end of last week going into this one was going strong until I decided to bring one of the fans down and then it started stressing her out which is weird because I never seem to run into that issue: I think my humidifier got a little too dry and that's what caused it. I got some compost tea on the roots and by end of week she's looking really good. The bottom shoots are almost at the top of the main shoot and pushed up right through the bigger fan leaves like they were cramping their style.

MindFlowers68 Slightly hectic week, first of all the plants were getting too big for the clone tent. Secondly, it looks like soil mites may have taken over the plant somewhat so I had to do something. Then I noticed what looks to be spider mite damage but I don't see any other signs of spider mites. I took the plants outside, put them on a work tray and doused them with diatomaceous earth and let them sit with it while i prepared more room. I have a few 3 x 3 tents on hand but I didn't really wanna set those up and I only have a few more weeks before I can flower them so I made a makeshift grow tent area in the corner of my studio and it seems to be working pretty good. I had to change the light cycle little bit so that I can keep them in darkness for a full six hours. After I got that ready, I went back outside and washed the plants off with some soap, then rinsed them off good and gave a little shake after I added some soil to the top two because they were leaning. And then I washed all the soil off the sides of the pots to keep them clean. I recruited my saucers, so that I don't ruin my studio floor and I'm hoping that extra little bit of soil helped to get big before I can transplant them into their final pots. After washing, some of the leaves were just so droopy and covering stuff, so I chopped them off and exposed all the main shoots off the central stem and toped the main one. At the end of the week they're looking a lot better. There's a little bit of residual diatomaceous earth so hopefully that kind of falls off. I don't want to get them wet again. I finished off with a little bit a neem meal top dress on each.

MindFlowers68 This week doing a lot better than last week and taking a liking to the environment I set up in my studio. The wash I did last week along with the trimming really helped the plant out. The structure of the plant is developing very uniform and getting an even level canopy going. The soil mites are under control now and whatever I thought was on the leaves seems to have gone away and I'm not seeing the little damage anymore. I don't know what it was. Also, I found a ladybug and decided to commission it to help out with the plants and it hung around for a few days going up and down all the plants which I could watch it from my little control room. Had also been nice being able to see my plants outside of a tent, I've been able to give them turns so that they all get equal light and each branch reaching top of canopy. I was a little worried after last week how they would react they looked like soggy feral kittens for a minute there.

MindFlowers68 Some nice growth this week with the plant, showing a tight vertical structure with elastic branches that should train well in the Scrog net. I've been bending branches gently out to encourage them a little bit without stressing too much not quite super crapping. I think once I get it under than that, I shouldn't have too much trouble with it.

MindFlowers68 Last week I got some new soil together because I didn't have any extra hanging around. I mixed it up all by hand and then scooped it into my bins and carded it into my basement. I brewed up some boogie brew and inoculated the new soil with beneficial's. After I got the tent cleaned, I got my 50 gallon pots from a few runs ago and put the new soil in after I cooked. I did get a little heavy on the water and she smelled rich but not anaerobic. I purposefully put my two taller seemingly hungry plants with thicker stems in these pots because the schools a little hotter than normal I think. These 50 gallon pots are also shorter than my 65 gallon pots in my other tent so it works well with these plants. She finished at her last week hanging out in the studio studio. I got the 4 x 8 ready for her and transplanted at the end of the week. There were some nice looking growth this week, and really needed to be watered once. After I got done transplanting and watered in with 2 gallons. I then did a lite lolli pop and took a few old fans leaves out and opened her out. I spent a good four or five hours cleaning out the 2 4x8's for the new plants. Man after I got the new plants in, they seem to be glowing in that nice new clean tent. I'm rooting for them no pun intended.

MindFlowers68 This week kind of flew by and not much to report. She only got watered one time just to kinda get her settled in a little more. The soil was actually a little too wet but I tryed to let it go as long as possible but the soil was a little hot too but she's taking it fine. When I had it sitting cooking once I mixed the it up for a week before was it just a little too wet. I did a few tucking sessions and she is cooperating I only can veg for about another week before I can flip the flower due to time constraints.

MindFlowers68 Last week of veg I changed the light to 12/12 at the end of the week and adjusted the ppfd up about 200. Hopefully that controls the stretch a little. She got watered twice this week.Gave some neem seed meal and insect frass as a little IPM. Shes a very vertical growing plant asp a little hard to tuck under the net but I managed to get most the net filled by the end of the week. I think Its gonna fill the net perfect after stretch and lots of room for colas to stack.

MindFlowers68 There is not much to report this week as things are on autopilot and going smoothly. The foliage shows the plant is thriving, and little to to no signs of stress. I only had to water once this week. The only other thing that was need was training some of the branches down and to the edges of the tent. She's pretty much got a perfect canopy going, and was able to control some of the stretch by scroging. After training I think i may have nearly doubled the amount of tops on the plant from the new nodes growing in strong and starting to stretch. I dialed back the humididty down to 58 percent and going to try and lower it gradually to 45 by harvest time.

MindFlowers68 She's still stretching but starting to slow down. Shes filled the area nice and showing the first little buds. The leafs are happy and she seems to be praying for the light. Watered once this week, but she sucked that down quick. I think shes big enough now I can start watering more offen.

MindFlowers68 Kind of rough few weeks so going to do a combined weekly comment for my 4 diary's this week. Had app for my wisdom teeth being pulled last Thursday at local dental school but they only took two out last week and they pulled last two yesterday. Monday last week I peeked into my tent and had a Joe Pesci moment when I looked into the window and found a few spots of fucking powder mildew starting. Couldn't have been worse timing with having to recover but I had no choice but to get my ass in the tents and defoliate. I found maybe 4 leaves per plant with a few specs of it. I took out quit a bit out, but the plants still had plenty of younger healthy leaves to make energy. I really don't know how it started. I've been running the dehumidifier more than normal because I tend to run a high humidity because its so hard to control in my area so i started running it day and night in my lung room. My tents humidity never got above 55 percent and the plants have been thriving. I was completely shocked having never had it inside to get it. I think because my tents conditions were so optimal my ac infinity controllers telling my exhaust fan to run on lowest setting at night. I noticed i started getting Pm on my outside plants when it was super dry too, I don't understand I thought mold likes moisture. That along with my last top dress could have been worked into the soil better and it started to rot a little on top so maybe that's where the spores came from. Now that im done wih top dressing, I'm going to cover the soil with pine or cedar chips to help keep them clean and happy. I set the minimum exhaust fan speed high so It will keep more air flowing and i moved one of the Honeywell fans on the floor from the back left corner to the front left corner to get more circulation going. To kill the Powder mildew I turned the lights full blast and got both tents to 105 degrees F for a few hours, then ran an ozone UV-C light right after lights turned off for about 5 minutes in each tent. I then made up my last batch of boogie brew for the season and fed them to the plants a few days after to help repopulate any microbes I killed and to help them recover. I think I did just enough to kill the PM without harming the plants/root zone much at all. A few hairs turned color but no leaf discoloration or tip burn from he heat. The plants are looking a little nitrogen rich at the moment but I I've been letting the pots dry out to control humidity so the TDS of nutrients are a little elevated.
