Not a lot to report this week, besides the fact that I'm not impressed with the Fox farm Happy Frog soil. The Ocean Forest that I used last year was a better product. I'm hoping that if I add some biochar this coming week that my plants will kick it up a notch.
I'm debating what to do about nutes this year. I bought a gallon of the Big Bloom and am currently using that. However I don't think I'm going to use the other Fox farm products I used last year. I'm thinking of going a more natural route. I've been taking a permaculture course and learning about soil health, so I'd rather not use mineral salts so I have healthier soil.
Blood Meal/Feather Meal for Nitrogen- Maybe a mix of both. Blood meal releases quickly while feather meal takes longer so you have a balance.
Bone Char for Phosphorus
Kelp Meal for Potassium
Blackstrap Molasses for general health especially flowering.
Biochar will give a great source of Carbon for water retention, and provide beneficial bacteria + Fungi.
So jealous of your garden. Good idea to cover them up at night with the greenhouse plastic to keep them warm. By the way, how does your grandma handle the THC? I am trying to get my mom to vape some CBD weed for her arthritis and general inflammation but she's scared to get high. She's very prejudiced. I might try to sneak some cannabutter inside her food lol
@Fibro_Witch, Yea I was joking I will keep insisting and eventually I'm sure she will try it. And you are right times are changing but I live in Spain so here it's not so much a "war on drugs" issue it's more of a "weed makes you dumb and lazy" thing 😂.
@@@Lucimago, Haha, my grandma is the other way around. She has no aversion to THC. But, she does like the 1:1's better than the higher THC strains. I think she feels like as she gets older she doesn't handle the THC as well and it puts her out whereas with the 1:1 she can still function and it just chills her out.
As for your Mom, just be up front with her. Give her the facts about CBD. I used to be prejudiced too (because high THC strains make me go bonkers, total paranoia, and I had a really bad experience once that put me off it for like 10 years) but then I found what works for me. The cannabis world is making a huge 180 compared to the days of Reagan and the "War on Drugs". I'm sure your Mom will come around eventually, Cannabis is here to help😉
@@Lucimago, Thanks! I've converted her to 1:1 CBD strains. I gave her some the the Blue Shark I grew last year for xmas and she loves it! She's on several meds that make her nauseous, and she loves that she can have a smoke and still function.
