greenkeepers 🍧 Pink Gelato – Week 2: Selection Begins Selection week for Pink Gelato went smoothly. From 106 seedlings, we selected 33 individuals, 2 of which were tagged as control plants to serve as a comparison benchmark. Macro photography on day 5 and day 8 post-germination allowed us to analyze each seedling in detail. The target traits showed strong consistency, and the decision-making process benefited from the extra data points. Following the selection, all plants were repotted into 1L pots, and nourished with a solution of Base & Grow from Advanced Nutrients Cultivator Series and Voodoo Juice Plus Tablets, mixed with RO water, pH 5.9, and EC 1.4. By the end of the week, roots were emerging from the bottom of the pots — a strong indication that our dry-back strategy is promoting solid root structure early on. Environmental conditions have been ideal: cooler post-summer air has helped us hold temperatures around 28°C. Humidity is stable at 68% RH thanks to the Pure Fogger, and airflow is handled by Pro-Vent fans across the grow room. Under these settings, our VPD sits at roughly 1.0 kPa, perfect for early vegetative growth — and Pink Gelato is thriving.

greenkeepers Week 3 – Pink Gelato – Root Rush, Final Cut & Ready for the Flip 🍨 From the original 130 plants, 18 Pink Gelato made the cut for the main room — the best 16 looking ones plus 2 control plants. A total of 48 plants were moved to another room to flower there as well, and the rest that didn’t make it into either room were removed so we can focus on the top performers. After transplanting into 7 L pots, Pink Gelato settled in quickly, with fresh white roots reaching the bottom within days. Structure is upright with slightly longer internodes compared to Apple Fritter, making canopy management straightforward. Nutrients were increased to EC 2.0 with Cultivator Series base and grow, along with Voodoo Juice to strengthen the root system. Foliar feeding has kept foliage healthy and productive. This week, we also introduced beneficial insects — Amblyseius cucumeris and Amblyseius californicus — as a preventive measure against thrips and other potential pests. The flip to flower in Week 4 will help keep Pink Gelato compact, ensuring enough space and light for every plant.

greenkeepers Week 4 – Pink Gelato – Early Flip & Feeding Boost 🍬🌸 This week we initiated the flowering phase for Pink Gelato. The early flip was chosen to keep plant height manageable and ensure every individual has enough room and light. Stretch began quickly but remains controlled and uniform. The feeding program switched from Advanced Nutrients Cultivator Series Powder Line – Base + Grow to Base + Bloom. On top of that, Voodoo Juice Plus Tablets were added to sustain root strength, Big Bud to prepare for heavier flowers, Bud Factor X to promote resin and essential oils, Sensizym to break down root debris and improve nutrient uptake, and Bud Candy to supply carbohydrates for both plants and beneficial microbes. Foliar feeding continued as well. Algae extracts provided vitality and stress resistance, while Tasty Terpenes OG Organics supported healthy foliage and terpene expression during the sensitive transition. We also carried out a first careful defoliation, removing some of the larger fan leaves shading stems and lower sites. This improved airflow and allowed light deeper into the canopy. Environmental conditions were tuned down to 63% RH, stabilized by the Pure Factory Pure Fogger and an Industrial Dehumidifier, holding VPD in the optimal range. Even with 18 distinct phenotypes, Pink Gelato shows uniformity. Growth is relatively even across the group, with upright structure, tight internodes, and healthy vigor.

greenkeepers 🌱 Week 5 – Pink Gelato 🍨🌸 Pink Gelato keeps impressing us with her vigor. The plants are getting bigger by the hour – some stretched quicker, so we arranged them by height and variety to keep the canopy even and maximize light for everyone. We also clipped two clones from each Pink Gelato, using Elite 91 Clone Solution and Eazy Plug CT104C. This combo has given us the best cloning results yet – strong starts and clean rooting. Highly recommended. Foliar feeding stayed part of the routine: Tasty Terpenes and B-52 were included, and the leaves responded with that glossy, healthy look. Pink Gelato is pushing out strong side branches and showing the structure we love – can’t wait to see how she develops.

greenkeepers Week 6 – 3rd week of flowering Disclaimer from the author: this update begins with a short introduction from Matías, followed by the plant report. This week we’ve been a bit behind with pictures, as we are working on multiple projects at the same time. Still, we’re excited to share an important milestone: since September we are finally officially employed within the club. For us, this marks the step from hobby to craft, both in content creation and in the cultivation of this wonderful plant. Bit by bit, we are building something sustainable – a project that not only supports itself but also creates opportunities for others. It’s about laying the foundation for more jobs, more projects, and more recognition around cannabis, something that for too long had to remain hidden. Just a couple of years ago, I could never have imagined this becoming reality, and yet here we are. For that, I feel nothing but gratitude – to our club members, our partners, our friends, our collaborators and the authorities. Without your trust and support, none of this would be possible. It’s crazy to think that only a small number of people in Europe can say this today, considering how incipient the legal industry still is. Even more so as an immigrant in this country, I feel deeply honored to be part of this process. And while we celebrate these steps, it’s also important to stay strong and not let anyone take away what has already been achieved. Every step forward may feel small in the moment, but when you look back, the progress is huge. For decades this plant was criminalized, given a bad reputation, and forced into the shadows. To us it is medicine, ritual, and part of daily life – something far less harmful than many substances that remain legal today. Thanks to legalization, cannabis and its active compounds can now also be studied in greater depth, helping us better understand its potential, how it interacts with our organism, and allowing us to leave behind decades of stigma. Compared to how long this plant has been persecuted, the improvements we’ve seen in just the last few decades are nothing short of extraordinary. Now, turning to the plants: the first signs of flowering are here, and the differences in stretch between the cultivars are becoming even more noticeable. Our clones have shown great vigor – more than 95% not only survived but also developed explosive root growth. This confirms once again that the Elite 91 + Bigger Eazy Plugs combo was a fantastic choice. Thanks to Mario for that tip – we won’t be going back to anything else. Just from their structure, we can already start imagining a pre-selection of mothers. Even at three weeks from germination, it’s clear which ones naturally reach the size we want, and which ones might need a bit more time to catch up. That being said, nothing is written in stone – sometimes a plant that looks less promising early on ends up surprising us later. Some may only start to show their true potential after a few extra days or even weeks, and in the end, the real verdict only comes once the buds are cured. Defoliation has been done gradually, allowing more light penetration without stressing the plants too much at once. At the same time, we couldn’t resist experimenting with under-canopy lights, which means we didn’t need to strip the lower branches too heavily – just enough to keep good airflow. We’re curious to see if this small change boosts production by a noticeable percentage. This was also the final week of foliar feeding, and the moment we introduced new micronutrients into the root solution: B-52, Big Bud, Bud Candy, Sensizym, Bud Factor X, and Voodoo Juice+. And of course, we couldn’t finish without mentioning aromas: Pink Gelato is now releasing a sweet candy-like fragrance. Simply walking past the plants you’re greeted with the scent of an artisanal candy shop. It immediately takes me back to La Dulcería in Cerro Alegre, Valparaíso – a place full of colorful handmade candies. If you ever find yourself wandering through Valparaíso, follow the painted ants on the sidewalks of the hill, and you’ll find it. Each cultivar is already starting to show its personality: Zoap Rose impresses with its powerful stretch, reaching for the light with unstoppable energy. Apple Fritter leans toward a sharper, more citrus-forward aroma, a refreshing contrast to the candy sweetness of Pink Gelato. Meanwhile, Sativa Dream shows off its elegant, slender leaves and airy structure, already promising that classic sativa vibe. Together, they make the room a diverse and exciting place to walk into every day. Finally, I want to thank each and every one of you who takes the time to read these entries. greenkeepers Week 4 – Flowering (Day 22–28) 🌸🌱 At the end of Week 3 (Day 21) we carried out a deeper round of defoliation and some lollipopping. By now the stretch is coming to an end, with the plants settling close to their final height. We’ve also stopped foliar feeding, since every single plant is now covered in developing buds. To keep everything protected, we refreshed the beneficial insects, better be safe than sorry, how we say in German, sicher ist sicher. Already in this early stage of flowering, we can clearly spot differences in structure, bud formation and even the first aromas. Some phenos are showing exceptional promise — those will be the ones we’ll highlight more in the coming updates. 🔎 Pheno notes so far: PG 34 – balanced structure, well-developed branching, consistent stacking. PG 52 – dense flower set, compact top formation. Pink Gelato stands out for its sweet candy-like fruit aroma, paired with symmetry and early bud quality.

greenkeepers 🌱 Week 5 of Flowering General Notes: We’ve now entered Week 5 of flowering (Day 29–35). The stretch has slowed down, and the plants are fully focused on flower production. The canopy is diverse and stimulating, with healthy tops stacking well. This week we continued with a round of defoliation to improve airflow and light penetration. The plants no longer grow much in height, but instead direct all their energy into flower development. Bud structures are becoming more defined, and it’s now possible to clearly distinguish the morphology of each strain. A major highlight: aromas have intensified noticeably. The room now carries a strong, evident fragrance, and differences are clear not only between strains, but also between phenotypes of the same strain. Each plant is showing its own terpene expression, adding diversity and character to the room. On the nutrition side, we’re running Advanced Nutrients Cultivation Series with the updated balance from last week: Base: 7.5 g / 10 L Bloom: 15 g / 10 L Plus all other micronutrients and additives (Bud Candy, Big Bud, Bud Factor X, Voodoo Juice) to keep the mix complete and balanced. Runoff EC is steady at ~2.0–2.2 with pH at 5.8–6.0. Environment remains controlled with ~55% RH, strong airflow from oscillating fans, and dehumidification during lights-off. The plants are reacting well, showing no stress or deficiencies. Pink Gelato: Pink Gelato is starting to shine as one of the most aromatic plants in the room. Its phenotypes show clear variation — some stacking tight, dense colas, while others express more open structures with sweeter, pronounced aromas. Resin spread is consistent across the line, and a candy-like fragrance is already filling the canopy. This diversity makes Pink Gelato especially promising both for visual appeal and terpene richness.

greenkeepers 🌱 Week 9 of the Grow (Flower Week 6) General Notes: We’re now deep into Flower Week 6 (Days 57–63). The stretch has completely ended, and the plants are dedicating all of their energy to flower development. Buds are swelling up, stacking nicely, and trichome coverage is visibly increasing. The room carries a strong, complex aroma that gets more intense each day. Training / Defoliation: Some defoliation was done this week, mainly to remove a few lower leaves so the under-canopy lights can penetrate deeper into the lower branches. The canopy is stable and doesn’t require much structural adjustment anymore. Nutrients: Feeding remained consistent with the established flowering mix, keeping EC and pH in the target range. The plants are responding well, showing no major deficiencies or excess signs. Environment: Conditions were kept steady with optimal VPD, good airflow, and balanced humidity. Lights are delivering strong PPFD levels across the canopy, ensuring even development for all phenos. Highlights – Pheno Notes: Pheno 34: Chunky, not as tall as the plants around it but with plenty of buds. Shows a sharp, pungent nose that already stands out. Pheno 35: More open structure with elongated, almost pointy buds. Still waiting to see if it bulks up and gives a surprise. The smell is very pleasant, with sweet undertones in the aroma. Pheno 52: Similar to 34, this pheno had a smaller stretch, keeping most branches at the same level, while others developed taller main colas. It was one of the first to catch my attention, but lately it seems to be losing the fight. Maybe it’ll surprise us in the coming weeks — time will tell! Pheno 63: Strongest aroma of the four — fruity with a very sweet back note. So far this is the terpiest pheno in the group, and its structure is outstanding compared to the other PGs. It’s a clear candidate for a winner in this hunt, though nothing is set in stone. We’ll wait for the final decision once the Purpl Pro results and testing are done. The garden is in full swing, and each pheno is starting to show its unique character more clearly. Excited to see how they finish in the coming weeks — can’t wait for the fade and final ripening! 🌸✨

greenkeepers his week is more of a photo diary than a long write-up. The plants are beautifully bulking – healthy leaves, healthy buds, and each cultivar showing its own expression. Some are stacking thick and compact, while others remain more fluffy and open. We are already looking at a pre-selection prior to harvest. Some phenos shine with exceptional terpene profiles but less ideal bud structure, while others strike a more balanced combination. They are really starting to define their traits, and it’s a pleasure to watch them set up their characteristics day by day. Pink Gelato is stacking beautifully this week. The cultivar shows strong vigor, with phenos expressing different but equally interesting traits. Some are producing long, fluffy towers with a very open structure, while others are leaning into denser colas with heavy resin coverage. PG34 – Vigorous and tall, with an elongated cola structure and strong stacking. Early signs of good production. PG52 – Balanced expression with healthy density, combining good resin coverage and a manageable structure. PG63 – One of the standouts so far, forming thick and compact buds with a very promising resin profile. PG64 – A slightly looser formation but with a captivating aroma already starting to come through. Could be a terpene winner. PG84 – Early resin machine, with intense trichome coverage even at this stage. Likely to shine in potency and bag appeal. Pre-selection notes: Pink Gelato will be one of the trickiest cultivars to narrow down, as the contrast between yield-heavy and terpene-heavy phenos is quite marked. At this point, PG63 and PG84 look like the strongest contenders, but final judgment will only come after harvest, when terpene profile and effect are fully evaluated.
