Dominostrees Hello to all those who want to follow my grow this year. My diary starts on May 1st, I started about 2 weeks earlier. The plan was to start the plants indoors and then transplant them outside when it gets warmer. And to get ahead of things - I'm using Rqs because I didn't know any better at the beginning. But I'm very satisfied with the service so far, I've been at it for a few years now. That's all for now. I wish everyone who grows a successful year. #

Dominostrees Veg week 2 went well, no abnormalities.

Dominostrees Week 3 went well, today is May 13th. A little bit about my habits. Today we start with water. I use rainwater as well as stale tap water (because of chlorine) in different ratios, depending on how much there is. I adjust the pH value almost exclusively with the addition of a few additives from the Biobizz range. For example, Acti-Vera, Fish Mix, and CalMag, which already do a good job of lowering the pH. If I don't administer anything like that, I have to resort to citric acid. But that works too. I haven't measured the pH value for 2 years now, it works by feel at this point.

Dominostrees Week 4 also went well, the girls are slowly growing out of themselves. I've also started bending the shoots outward a bit with wire. Otherwise, I haven't changed much. A little about my setup: The lamp is a Sanlight 4-100 in a 100x100 tent. For exhaust, I have a PrimaKlima PK125EC, which sends the air directly into the chimney. I draw fresh air from our backyard with the corresponding intake system. I also have a circulation fan and the hygrometer you see - that's it. See you next week.

Dominostrees It's time, Veg week 7 is over and the plants have found their way out into the big world at the end now. Now it's time to wait. We of course prepared the spot beforehand. We incorporated 50 liters of biobizz-Allmix into the soil per plant and turned it over, a few months in advance, of course. The insecticide I rely on is neem oil. Dominostrees The "acclimatization week" after the transplant went as expected, very calm; the girls just need some time to get used to it. Next week will be better. 17.06.

Dominostrees The growth and stable weather are attracting some insects now.. Among them are whiteflies again, just like every year here, so Neem oil has been used. Just add 5ml/L of water and spray it on. It really keeps the pests away.👍🏻

Dominostrees The weather this week has been damn good, and you can slowly see it on the plants. For the distribution: On the left is the Watermelon In the middle is the Speedy And on the right is the Northern Lights. Watering is done every 2 days with 15L per plant. Since the soil was kept moist by us in the spring, that’s still enough now. However, the humidity is very low, around 35% during the day with a light breeze, full sun, and temperatures reaching 27 degrees this week; let's see how that develops. A bit more about the soil: we dug 3 holes about 3 months before planting, roughly 100L, and mixed them with Biobizz Allmix and the existing soil from the bed, which is very rich in humus. The soil in the meadow is more clayey and stony; let's see how the two handle that. Until next week. 30.06.2

Dominostrees And there goes another week.. The girls are developing splendidly, it was also time to properly remove some leaves and shoots for the first time, otherwise they would completely grow together. With the Watermelon, we were slowly getting worried that something might snap, but we still needed to get some materials. Why I mention this - you'll see later. 07.07.25

Dominostrees Well, by week 12 it happened, on July 11th, the Watermelon split catastrophically in the middle during a storm. All the branches, except for one, had broken off. With a lot of help and sweat shed despite the pouring rain, we managed to get the plant upright again in a short time (see pictures). And lo and behold, after just 3 days, as of July 14th, it's already growing again, today we're at 1.86m with the top branch, 5cm more than on the 12th... Let's hope it keeps going like this. See you next week. The other two survived without any damage.

Dominostrees Week 13 went very well despite the very bad weather and the neck injury from a week earlier. All the plants are gaining biomass and height. Aside from a few small bite holes from insects, I suspect mostly whiteflies, on just a few leaves and maybe one yellow leaf hanging somewhere in the middle of these bushes, the plants are doing great. In the meantime, 2 autos have also joined in, but I won't go into detail about them here.

Dominostrees It's July 28th, and the plants are doing great, despite the incessantly gloomy, cool, windy, and rainy days here in the country. We've stopped watering since it's been raining here more than it has in years. But let's not complain.. the weather report finally predicts good weather next week, after 4 weeks of "autumn." I suspect that's when the real growth will start, at least that's how it has been in the past years. One picture shows the feeding spots from the pests. As I said, I think it's the whitefly; you can constantly see them buzzing around. Neem oil works great for us against that. 😁 There are only a very few leaves that have been nibbled on. We're doing our best... As of July 28th.

Dominostrees It's August 5th, and the girls are doing really well despite the lousy weather of the past few weeks. They were heavily defoliated by us once, and since then, the northern lights has been growing like an "eel," as we like to say around here. You can't really tell that we defoliated them, I know. But believe me, there was a whole lot of foliage, and it was definitely time for it. Unfortunately, I don't have any more pictures of that. 😬 As for the heights: the northern lights has now also broken the 2-meter mark and stands at exactly 2.00m. The Speedy Chile in the middle is a bit shorter at 1.91m. The Watermelon on the left is the tallest at 2.10m and by far the most extensive plant, as the photos should show. However, it seems to have either climatic or nutrient uptake issues, I would say. The fan leaves on one of the two main stems are all turning slightly yellow/orange between the leaf veins and feel a bit harder. Additionally, they are curling slightly towards the center of the leaf, which to me indicates too much water over the past few weeks... we'll see. Hopefully, these aren't aftereffects of the "whiplash." See you next week!

Dominostrees It's August 12, 2025, and the weather is definitely getting better; it's getting close to 30°C again, which will surely do the plants good. They've grown quite well this week, as usual. Let's see when the flowering starts...

Dominostrees It's August 19, 2025, and a lot has happened this week.. The weather has finally gotten better (not for next week though).

Dominostrees Sooo, first of all, a warm welcome to the flowering phase 2025, also from me. I had a torn ligament, which is why I haven't been in touch for a while. Well, here we are again. 👋🏽 Today is August 26, 2025, and the girls are doing very well, except for the Watermelon. The growth has now massively increased for all three, which, combined with the forming buds, marks the beginning of the flowering time. Now to the problem child: As you can see in the photos, I sealed the hole in the stem with tree resin. Before that, I cleaned it as best as I could, which turned out to be nearly impossible with such a deep hole. Whether this will work, I don't know. You can also see in the last photo that the largest shoot of the Watermelon (on the left) is really drooping its leaves. Unfortunately, this happened 3 days after I applied the stuff. We only had 6 °C at night, which could be a reason, but I don't know... We'll have to see what happens. The others, however, are doing much better, I must say. Especially the northern lights on the far right is really making progress, we're now at a height of 2.35m! The speedy chile is still lagging a bit at 2.30m xD, while the Watermelon is still the undisputed leader at 2.45m (by the way, the maximum diameter is 3.50m). In the photo with the plate, you can see a size comparison of the stems. 😉 See you next week! Oh, and the last picture is one of our 3 Automatics, don't be surprised. Dominostrees It's September 1, 2025. The weather has surprisingly improved.. The girls are growing lush again.. just great! Now for the details.: While the Watermelon and Speedy can't start flowering fast enough, the Northern Lights, due to its genetics, shows no signs of wanting to form buds yet. It's stretching, but that's about it. Last week, we continued to give 40L per plant every 2-3 days, with 1ml/L of Bloom and Grow accordingly. It rained in between, hence the 3 days. We're currently stagnating at a height of 2.45m, but the lower shoots are making an effort to reach this height, let's see what happens. Our problem child with its broken stem is doing surprisingly well, even though the damaged area is becoming more concerning externally.. Today, we'll be adding wind protection again, as we're slowly heading into storm season. I don't want to pick them up off the ground. Well then, that should be it for the week, let's keep hoping for good weather and these indestructible plants. 🤫

Dominostrees A wonderful good morning/afternoon/evening to everyone reading along. Today is 09.09.2025 and the plants are developing splendidly. The weather this week has been unbelievably good, which the girls clearly appreciate. Next week also looks quite good for us here. (We are located north of the low mountain ranges in Germany, which means that during southwest weather conditions, we are in the lee of these mountains and don’t get much precipitation, let alone clouds.) About the girls: Watermelon Kush (overview picture on the left): She is currently the furthest along in flowering, which actually makes us very happy because we did NOT expect that. With a stated flowering time of 7-8 weeks, she should be ready for harvest by early October. 😍 Regarding her main stem issue: As you know from the past weeks, her main stem has cost us a lot of nerves since it has been a matter of debate for 2 months. In the meantime, the plant has actually recovered from it. Instead of a single main stem, she has now decoupled her main shoots from each other and allowed them to branch within the former main stem, which I haven’t seen before (see photo). In my estimation, she has made it. 💪🏼 However, I have a slight concern, since this seed is an American seed, that one of the shoots might be hplvd infected, as the leaves are turning yellow, are very easy to detach, and the buds look a bit deformed... we’ll see. The tools will definitely be disinfected from now on. I’ll have a photo next week if the suspicion is confirmed. We also did some heavy defoliation today, as she will now transition from stretching to full bloom. First, for more light exposure on the buds, and second, due to the risk of excess weight from precipitation, which could lead to leverage effects that would split the plant again. Hopefully, we’ve brought that risk down to nearly zero. 😬 Speedy Chile (overview picture of the middle plant): She is also making quick strides towards her life dawn, but in my opinion, she is about 3/4 days behind the Watermelon. Nevertheless, I am satisfied with her. With a stated flowering time of 7-8 weeks, she should also be ready by early October. She was also heavily defoliated today, as her transition from stretching to full bloom is expected to happen this week, mainly due to the previously insufficient light exposure on the lower-lying buds. About the Northern Lights (overview picture of the plant on the right): She has, to our surprise, become the most powerful of the 3 plants. The downside is that she is now lagging about 2 weeks behind in flowering, which will definitely be critical with a stated flowering time of 8-9 weeks. The harvest time would then be in the last quarter of October, which I think is too late. We’ll see what happens. Otherwise, she is developing splendidly, as you might guess from the photos. She will be defoliated next week. So, that should be it for this week. Dominostrees A wonderful good Tuesday to everyone. 👋🏽 Today is September 16, 2025. I'll keep it short, it's gotten late today. The last few days, as expected, we had quite a heavy storm here with gusts of around 70 km/h, and the girls were swaying back and forth quite threateningly. We were already aware that there would be collateral damage, and that has indeed happened. The Watermelon lost one of its smaller shoots on the main stem, but it was immediately secured again. The Northern Light thought it would want to rip up the entire ground beneath it, but fortunately, we were able to prevent that with further securing. All three are standing strong after the stormy days! The pictures in the dark were taken after the storm. We have since harvested the Automatics, as we found 3 small rotting spots due to the weather. The loss amounts to less than 3g, and the trichomes are about 20% amber, so everything went well. 👍🏽 Now it's supposed to be really summery for another 3-4 days before full autumn hits here for 2 weeks.. let's see what the girls will say about that. I hope for a golden October with sunshine and little rain afterward. We can only hope. 🙏 See you next week!

Dominostrees Today is 09/29/2025. I apologize for a week without an update; I just couldn't find the time. But now: About the Watermelon OG: It looks like it's ready to kick off the last 2 weeks of its life. The fan leaves are turning yellow/purple, and the buds are growing in large numbers and beautifully compact, despite the cool temperatures. The smell is breathtaking, and the damage on the main stem has healed well. We also did a heavy defoliation again, which should hopefully be finished today. About the Speedy Chile: It's also nearing its end. The buds are a bit thicker and denser than the Watermelon, but it has grown much more compact, with quite short internode distances. It shows fewer signs of autumn, which suggests that it is handling the now very cool nighttime and daytime temperatures better. About the Northern Lights: It is by far the most powerful of these 3 plants, but as mentioned, it only started flowering 2 weeks after the others. If the weather holds up reasonably well, it will be by far the heaviest of them all. If not, we have to hope that we can at least save part of it. The harvest date according to the breeder would be 10/28, which can be extremely critical here with the weather. But this is a risk you take every year. Sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn't. The other two should be ready in about 2 weeks; the weather should hold up until then. Pictures will come this afternoon. Until then!

Dominostrees Today is October 27, 2025. A lot has happened in the last few weeks. The Speedy Chile and the Watermelon were harvested on October 14, and I'll share the results later; I'm still in the process of trimming everything. In summary, I can say that the weather this year in autumn has played against us. We had just 30% of the sunshine we were supposed to get in October, and it was too cool and too wet as well. Nevertheless, there was quite a bit on both girls, estimated at about 600 grams per plant. We had to harvest 2 weeks early because mold was starting to take over. The Northern Lights is still standing, not finished and dying. Let's see if we can save anything from it. I'll provide one more update with the results and the final report; after that, my grow for 2025 will be over!

Dominostrees Now for the season wrap-up this year, my results: The Watermelon Kush from Royal Queen Seeds really made strides outdoors and delivered by far the highest yield, 650g dry for use. We had quite a bit more, but about 300g ultimately fell victim to mold. The quality of the buds is at best on par with the upper third of the plant compared to previous years, and the terpene development has noticeably suffered from the cool and dreary weather here. Everything below that third was mostly processed into hash. In the end, there were another 35g of hash from the Watermelon alone out of about 200g of flower material. In conclusion, the Watermelon is a very robust and sturdy strain. It's great for beginners and even survives when the main stem is pulverized and then infested by pill bugs. However, it definitely does not withstand stormy weather without support. All in all, a successful year. I hope you’re all doing similarly. See you next year then.

Dominostrees The second beast in the lineup was the Speedy Chile. This strain leaves me with mixed feelings this year. On one hand, this phenotype came out noticeably stockier than its colleagues from previous years, which wasn’t bad, but it also went into flowering 2 weeks later than usual this year. Two years ago, this strain was already ready for harvest by September 29th, which raises my eyebrows in connection with reports from other growers, as I suspect that this strain simply no longer possesses its original characteristics, but that’s just a guess. I have always been very satisfied with the strain, and I will give it another try next year. In the end, the quality suffered a bit more due to the early harvest timing compared to the Watermelon, but overall it’s still not bad. I would call this an above-average good German hedge, it really packs a punch. I ended up with 580g of dry Speedy Chile, about 400g of which went into jars and the rest was processed into hash, which also weighed a proud 32g in the end. The drying rack was completely filled with it. (see photo.)

Dominostrees I don't have much to say about this plant.. Unfortunately, I have no clue how much was really there in the end. We tried to save what we could, but it just kept raining at the end, which made the whole situation very moldy. We're left with 200g dry without mold, the rest, estimated at 2.5kg wet, has been completely destroyed by mold. It was by far the largest and most productive plant this year, just without any benefit for us since we had to destroy most of it. If I had to guess, I would say there was at least 900g of dry mass attached. If anyone is wondering what we did with all the weed, and as an idea for potential imitators, take the excess, chill with a few people in a garage, and burn the stuff in the middle of the room throughout the evening.. It's fun and somewhat legal. I'll spare you the mold pictures of the Northern Lights, it hurts my soul just thinking about it. Instead, I'll show you the hash I made this year, which is a total of 70g pressed in the small jar, as well as a small collection from this year. The last picture shows the Northern Lights again, how it looked 1 week before harvest. In that sense, see you next year Growmunity.
