FastBuds Green Crack Auto.
- 27x27x63in MarsHydro tent
- dimmable 240watt Miejiu 'HLG qb260' led clone with additional 660nm diodes
- AC-Infinity Cloudline T6 exhaust fan
- VivoSun 6" carbon filter
- 10 gallon tote DWC with two airstones and six 3" netcups (2 spots planted)
My first autoflower variety, and hopefully finishing with my first harvest. Unfortunately, my previous bagseed grow ended in a hermaphrodite that got killed early in week 4 of flower. I did learn an awful lot about training and nurturing a photo period plant in a DWC setup though. I've since upgraded a few parts of my setup and have a new design for a 10 gallon container to be shared between 2 plants.
The Green Crack seedling poked her head out on day 3 and started to reach for the light by day 4. I sewed the seed directly into a rapid rooter, which was placed in a Mason jar DWC setup for germination and early veg. It's just got plain tap water with pH set to around 5.7.
I'm still finishing up the final 10gal tote, but this plant will share with a Cookie Monster Auto from Garden of Green. I plan to run Greenleaf Nutrients Mega Crop as my one-part plant food, probably still adding Botanicare Hydroguard just for the beneficial bacteria.
It looks like she'll be okay. After a really bad fight with a white/clear slime all over my airstones and roots last week. I really thought she was a goner, but it looks like she'll pull through.
Had a bit of a nitrogen toxicity scare this week. I reset the reservoir to about half the strength and she seems to be turning back around. This run is not quite as hungry as my last, it seems. At least I hope to finally make it to harvest this time! So far, it's been pretty stressful, lol.
This week, I discovered that my local tap water's PH has changed. It used to be pretty stable around 7, but for the last couple weeks it has been nearer 8.5! I found out just a little bit too late. Roots have died off, leaves shriveled in response. It was very close to the end for these plants. However, I finally got a grasp on it once again. While stable, I'm not entirely sure she'll fully recover this time. Fingers crossed!
Plants were begging for more phosphorous this week, so increased the bloom nutes. Don't think they'll get much bigger, but they are flowering okay. They'll be some super cute tiny harvests. Can't wait.
This week starts off strong for the little gal. She's had a rough go of it, but seems to be happy and healthy again. She's even started to stretch a bit more. And I thought she was done getting any bigger. A little bit of lst has helped open her up. Hope to pull some sweet teeny tiny buds off this girl soon.
This week has been dealing with heat stress. I had to hook my carbon filter back up to my exhaust for the flowering autos. I forgot to turn it up higher to account for the restricted airflow. All sorted now, but the damage is done. I'm sure we can recover though.
The Green Crack seems to be a bit more robust than the Tutankamon, but still took some damage. Also, she's been moved back to her own 2-gallon bucket. The shared lid was getting kinda crowded. Now we wait, and try not to screw up anymore!
My white 2-gallon buckets were a horrible mistake, lol. Algae is slowly taking over my roots. I'm too lazy at this point to fight it, so I'm hoping they just finish up soon. 🤞🏼
This thing smells delicious! All I get is fresh, ripe mangoes. Like I'm standing at a tree and just picked a fruit. It blows my mind. I can't wait to taste it. Alas, she's still slowly getting there. Hairs are finally starting to turn, and most trichs look cloudy to me. I'll give it another week at least, but I check thoroughly every day 😋
She's really close. I'm planning to cut her by this weekend, to hopefully have some dry by the 4th of July! I have my MyHerbsNow dryer ready and waiting. And I need the room in the tent. So I'll wait as long as I can, but she'll be down soon.
This is some of the most tasty weed I've ever tried! I don't even really like mango flavor. But this stuff is sweet, and delicious! The effect is what I describe as 'comfy'. It just puts me into an immediate good mood, making it hard to wipe the smile from my face. All around, I am more than pleased with my first ever harvest! So glad I went with Green Crack Auto!
Well, for my very first harvest, I'm very pleased. Not quite the yield I was hoping for, but I learned a lot and still got rewarded for my efforts in the end. Overall, my biggest mistake was just changing too many things at once for this grow. I tried a shared dwc tote. That had a whole host of extra problems that I hadn't entirely considered. Had a fight with slime blooms after a strange and unexpected reaction between ph-down and a plant food. Lots of strange, new problems; and they all had a negative effect on the harvest. All that said, I am super pumped for my next grow. I have two more Green Crack seedlings already 13 days old and looking bigger and better than this grow already! Thanks FastBuds for a great grow!
@Likearasta, sorry for the delayed response. I didn't have to set anything for the dryer, just hit 'on' and wait. As for vaping, I mostly use Dynavaps. They help keep my intake low and still get me baked. I love em, own like 5 of em, lol. Hope that helps!
@Likearasta, I mostly use my Dynavaps to vape, but also have a Firefly2, Crafty, and an Argo. Each has their uses/pros/cons but still mostly use my vapcaps.
As for the dryer, I didn't do anything except put my buds in and turn it on. Left it on my bathroom counter for the 3-4 days of drying. Smells quite strongly, but I didn't have anywhere else convenient to put it. Still learning, but very happy so far.
@@ExcessDope, Thanks for the reply. I’m gonna mostly smoke mine but what do you vape out of? I used to have a volcano but smoking works better for me medicinally speaking. Did you have to set a certain humidity as well? It’s humid where I’m at most of the year.
@Puffer_Bill, Thanks! Yes, I did figure it out. It turns out, the citric acid that is in the GHE PH Down that I was using, was reacting with something in the Greenleaf Nutrients MegaCrop that I was trying. Something about those caused a near instant bloom of that crazy, oxygen-loving slime! I couldn't believe it! As soon as I switched back to GHE Flora Trio, the slime hasn't returned. I did treat the roots with a peroxide bath though to sterilize them after a rough and thorough rinse. Hence the somewhat stunted appearance. I'm just glad to have a stable and healthy environment again. Thanks for asking! I meant to write that in my comment.
I already have 2 more Green Crack Auto seedlings growing! Both at 10 days old atm, and doing great. I've even dedicated one to a friendly instagram #autosolocupchallenge! So, it will live out it's days in the solo cup it sprouted in. The other has been moved into a 2-gallon felt pot of M3 soil. Doing great, and fully expect much, much better results this grow! Thanks for the great genetics FastBuds! I'll better represent your work as I continue to grow as a grower! 😁
