Germination

Dameon0803 I had to start this diary early because WTF!? I typically have a pretty quick and successful germination, but this was insane! I'm glad to see this, because prior to this, I had accidentally cooked a Gelato 41 seed from NASC. My new heating mat was just a bit stronger than I expected. (I know, I'm eating the previous words I had just said, but I don't commonly cook seeds or kill them). My method is quite simple, and worth a try. I roll a small tube of 320 sandpaper. I then place the seed inside the tube, enclosing both ends with my fingers. I give the tube 10-12 strong flicking at the wrist motions. The seed is then dropped into water that is at ideal temps. After an hour, if the seed is floating, I ensure it sinks. An hour after that, I place 2 cotton pads down and spray them 3 times. I take the seed out of the water and place it on one of the pads. I then spray the pads 2 more time, sandwich the seed, put it in a zip lock bag, spray inside once, and close until just about sealed. To ensure the success of this seed, I had placed an old heat probe I had with the seed between the cotton pads. I maintained 82-88° and had to have 2 sets of paper towels under the zip lock that were folded in half twice to seperate it from the heat my mat puts off, even at its lowest.

Dameon0803 Day 1 - Once the first leaves were truly out, around 10pm on Aug 15th, I began to introduce nutrients. Roughly every 12 hours I'm applying 20-30 ml of water with nutrients. One whole inch in 24 hours! Day 2 - Continuing to water at the same rate until I see otherwise needed. Maintaining 85°/85%. Rapid growth. Added two small ac infinity computer fans in the evening. She's dancing a little now. 7/8" in 24 hours. She'll hit her potential 150cm at this rate, no problem. Day 3 - Little vertical growth today. An 1/8".? Leaves grew a little bit. Humidity stayed in the 60s for a few hours. Hooked my humidifier up. I also turned the light down one notch since it did grow so fast vertically. Hoping today's focus was in the root zone. I enjoy living mulch, so I threw some of this blue oyster inoculated straw on top that I've been wanting to try. Day 4 - Maybe an 1/8th inch of growth.? About 1/2" of straw. Day 5 - Transplanted into new home. Soil from last grow is being reused but was transfered to a slightly smaller grassroots bag. I lost a lot of my top water with the last fabric pot, so I hope this fixes it and seemed to work well, thus far. Ollas were reinstalled. About 1/4" of build a flower was spread even. A heartfelt amount of Craft Blend and Kashi was spread amongst that and gently worked in. Cover crop was sprinkled around the edges and gently worked in. Misted with about a quart. Put the inoculated straw on top. Finished spraying in the remaining 3 quarts. Then, I covered it all with the bottom of an old fabric pot I had. I will leave this covered for probably 4ish days.? Also, I noticed lastnight my reason for s growth. VPD! 🤦‍♂️ I wish I could put that in bold as it's so simple, yet, when I'm not using my automated AI system, I can stumble these things. I wanted 0.6 vpd. The temps I was getting was around 80-85°. I was steady during at 85% humidity, because that was not my environmental challenge, temp was. I was simply giving to much humidity that would linger. I dropped it down to 75% as it naturally drifted up to around 80% before it would come back down. I started to nail that VPD. I feel like its evident in the growth. I have gladly handed it off to AI and I will continue to oversee its work. Height reset again because of transplant. Day 6 - Weird glitch on the AC Infinity app today. I wanted to set my light to turn off from 2pm - 6pm. I lost communication with the device on my mobile app. My light did turn off, but everything else was not running my night cycle because the app thought the light was on, and the device thought off. Simply, I turned off the devices wifi and ran Bluetooth. Problem solved! Day and night VPD is nearly perfect. Day 7 - Little growth today. Decided to check out under the cover. Straw was bone dry. Sprayed it down a little bit.

Dameon0803 Day 8 - Noticed some darkening on the edges of the leaves. I'm assuming this is due to over watering and rich soil. Would definitely explain why its slowed down a bit. I just wanted to ensure that the cover crop would remain properly moistened. Day 9 - Peeked under the cover again. I saw some Seedlings popping up. I had some extra soil from when I switched pots. I needed a bag to put the extra soil in. I decided to put the little bit of build a flower I had left around the mulch so I could use its bag. I worked it in a little bit and gave it a little watering. I know, not ideal with the signs I'm seeing, but I didn't want it just sitting there extremely dry. Started filling my humidifier which takes a minute because the waters filtered. Stepped away to smoke, and totally forgot. Had a good half gallon of water on the ground when I caught it and got water in the unit. Dissasembled and set it out to dry. Day 10 - Plant didnt seem to mind the lack of the humidifier for the several hours it was out of operation. Temp adjusted to around a high of 83° and an average of about 68%. Not ideal, but not the worst. After getting wet, I guess the humidifier reset itself. I messed with it for probably an hour thinking it was broken because it use to just provide humidity when turned on. Realized, because it reset, the humidity was set super low, so it just assumed it didnt need to provide any. Memories saved to a higher setting and now turns on and off with the use of the ac infinity controller. Cover was removed and the cover crop is ready to rage. This plant, I expect, will also start showing daily changes with the help of mycorrhizae being activated by all the surrounding cover crop. Vpd was changed from seedling vpd of 0.6 to the vegetative vpd of 0.8. Night vpd remains set to 0.9. Day 11 - Everything is looking great and growing healthy. Glad I don't have much to report. I truly believe her roots have sets, and these genetics are about to show their true potential. Day 12 - Another good day. Had some water build up on the bottom of the tent, so I turned the mist level down on humidifier and cleaned it up. Surprisingly it didnt cause any swings in my vpd. Messed with co2 settings. Turns on for 3 minutes every 15. Im getting up to 1,000 ppm between each for a solid 3 hours before the organic container slows down and the system stops it if it doesnt hit 800 until I choose to reset it. I need to turn this down to maybe 2 on 20 off and try to ride around like 700-800. Definitely seeing a noticeable daily change. Day 13 - Day 14 -

@Fast_Buds, thank you! Im excited to try your genetics out! First time. This was a freebie that came with the mystery 5 pack, so thank you for that! Eagerly waiting to try and guess the other 5 strains in future grows!
