I dialed the nutes back to about 700 ppm and the girls seem to be happy. We now have a horse race for best pheno, as Tangie #4 is being challenged by the up-and-coming Tangie #1. T#4 still has the strongest and most tangerine-peel odor, but T#1 is just laying on the resin. I'm thinking 3-4 weeks left for most of these plants, except maybe #3 will go 11-12 weeks.
@ElevatedThinking, Thanks, dude! I'm loving this grow, and am really impressed with this strain, with two out of four girls looking particularly nice. Psyched I got all girls and still have 8 seeds left in my pack of Crockett's Tangie!
Tangie is performing well for you, OC, Looks like you are in line for a spectacular result. Congrats.
Very tempted to make this strain my next grow based on your commentary. I can almost smell those beautiful buds from here. ;-)
OCS, Bud.
1.5l of nutes per day is a lot of feed. You will kill you lovely Tangie if you keep with this frequency.
Have you checked the ppm of your run off? I am curious to know what this is.
In my garden, I would be feeding once a week at most, more likely once every 2 weeks, and watering (supplements <200ppm-300ppm) as needed between. F, W, W, F, W,W.
Interested to hear your thoughts.
cheers.
@OldCoolSativa,
As you have noted, watering to run off protects you from salt build up and by checking ppm you will know immediately if you have been over nuting,
I have over nuted for all of my grows so far so unfortunately consider myself an bit of an expert on the subject. ha ha.
Currently my Laura Bush is drinking about 1/2 gal per day for a 3x3 area, and she eats about 60 ppm per day. Over 5 days, she'll need about 300 ppm.
Anyway, your girls are looking great and wish I could taking a good whiff off their trademark Tangie aroma. Looking forward to your future posts and following your girls through harvest.
@Mr_Positivo, I think your comments would apply if I were growing in soil but I believe I'm OK with this feed schedule because I'm growing in coco hempy buckets, a passive hydroponic method. Everything I've read about growing in hempy buckets says to water/feed using a drain-to-waste feed schedule and give them enough to get at least 10% runoff. I haven't checked the pH or conductivity of the runoff but I will next time I drain the reservoir. The 850 ppm I'm currently running is measured, and includes the CaMg I'm using at 4ml/gal I'm using. I've also read that you should water/feed every 2-3 days when the plants are small and up that to daily when the plants get big and drink a lot. It's worked well so far, with only a little brown at the very tips of the leaves.
I may dial this back to 700-800 ppm.
@OldCoolSativa, sounds awsome! I don't know to much about it, but if you have Instagram and type crockettshaze as a tag, a few posts come up of buds in late flower! You can message the user that posted the photo and ask for more info etc, that is what I would do!
@BreakingBud, Thanks man. One of these plants already has an incredible smell that is exactly like fresh tangerines! I'm pumped for this smoke! I'd love to try Crockett's Haze but it's expensive and I haven't been able to find a single grow log online. You know anything about it?
Thanks for the reference, OCS, That is quite a thread and very interesting. Not sure what strain my next run should be but this article points to many possibilities.
@OldCoolSativa, that was quite an adventure also, thanks again. I forget how well some growers grow weed. dr pentathol, mack 10, hydroheinz. beautiful stuff and a great conversation about chasing the orange. I am hooked.
As an alternative to Catnip Seeds, I might look into what TGA have to offer. They were the beneficiaries of some good genetics from what I was reading, but i am a newbie so I may be off base.

This strain is legendary and Crockett farms are the guys who put Tangie on the map, if I am not mistaken.
Going to follow your grow with interest. Happy growing, OCS.
@Mr_Positivo, hey, man, thanks for your note. Tangie is indeed legendary. I'm not sure I buy into it's claimed pedigree of CaliO x Skunk. There's an interesting thread on IC Mag about Crockett's vs DNA's Tangie that's worth a read.
