Everything growing as expected. Starting to feed with 1/4 tsp miracle grow tomato food granules per gallon. Adjusting pH after adding nutes. No problems. Will keep them inside for another week then will move to outdoor pots, carefully peeling away the peat pot as I place it into the new soil.

Moved these babies outside on day 16. They’re in large pots on the patio. Despite several days of clouds and rain they’ve really shot upward. I’m supplementing rainwater with pH balanced miracle gro tomato food during veg.

These guys have the first hints of flowers now. One is quite a bit larger than the other. They sit about 6’ apart on my deck. They’re not covered. So they get natural rainfall which I supplement with nute solution when they feel dry or every 5 days at a min. Both were topped, to create branching but one took off and the other has not. If these guys were photoperiod, I’d not have switched them to flower quite yet, but I am interested to see how these autoflowering varieties produce in a patio grow.

Still in the stretch, We see lots of baby colas developing at the joints. One of the plants is getting some LST and one is left to grow a natural shape. The LST plant is in a smaller pot but is is larger. They are about 10’ apart on a patio/deck stealth grow.

Finally a sunny day in the midst of our insanely wet spring. Rain, rain and more rain, and rain in the forecast. The Japanese beetles have shown up, so I’ve made giant canna-condoms to keep the girls safe from the insatiable munchers. The girls look good, one is much smaller than the other, I call her Minnie.

I’m about to go buy a big box fan and pull these kids under the edge of the covered porch. So I can be sure they get good airflow and don’t start to grow mold in this insanely wet weather. Photos are minimal again this werk due to rain ☔️ and more rain. Pistols are starting to turn & Trichomes are starting to be visible to the naked eye when the light is just right (because they are still clear otherwise). Nature is flushing them aggressively, I’ll give them some nutes this afternoon. Japanese beetles are everywhere and I had made them little net condoms to keep the beetles from eating them, but had to remove those to allow maximum airflow due to our weather.

I’ve been running a fan across the girls all week to try and keep the buds from developing mold despite the wet weather we had for a couple of weeks. Fast Buds!! Amazing fast development this week. Pistols on the top most buds are about 50% mature, Trichomes are getting milky and a few are starting to develop amber hues that are visible under the microscope but not really with a magnifying glass yet. It’s not going to be long now. I’m flushing and watching the top most buds to decide if I need to remove them a few days before the rest. Right now it is looking like it will be a 2 stage harvest. The miniature plant has the most ripe bids on the top. Interestingly, the larger plant shows less differential between upper and lower buds.

Looking good, just waiting to see some amber trichomes. We’ve gotten so much rain. I have them under the roof over the deck with a fan running across them to keep them dry, but am worried there is not enough light with these stormy days. Fast Buds says these should be ready 63-70d from seed.

Just seeing a tinge of amber through the magnifying glass. I’ll give them another day or two before I cut them.

Harvesting on day 72 of flower. It’s interesting the variance on a single plant, from branch to branch how some have all white trichomes and others have a good amount of amber trichomes. Looking for some good anti-anxiety, sleeping medicine, so I don’t mind the more amber.

Happy Harvest Day!

Produced less than would be expected given optimal conditions. What I gave it was much, much less than optimal conditions Patio grow, the plant itself was super easy grow even in a miserably wet spring and summer. The one plant that I pinched back to encourage branching produced extremely well. The other plant that I left to grow a natural christmas tree shape was a poor producer. There were only 8 bud clusters on that one. Overall, for a stealth patio grow, Gorilla Glue Auto is a winner in my book. I’ll definitely grow it again. The odor around my patio wasn’t way strong. Mother nature threw everything at it; Japanese beetles, insane humidity, heat, stormy WET weather, and very little sunlight the last 3 weeks, but the GG girls prevailed. Next time, I’m growing her in the tent though!! Not shabby for a first patio grow with 3 weeks of miserable wet and dark weather wrapping up the grow. Didn’t use any special cannabis products to optimize the grow. Went with basic off the shelf gardening supplies available most everywhere. This one is for all the newbies like me out there. Get a great disease resistant strain, and even under the worst of conditions, you may still come out with a couple of ounces 😎 of good medicine. You never know until you try!!

Fast and SIMPLE patio grow, perfect for an impatient grower. 72 days from seed to harvest. Could have taken some of the branches at 68-70d. Responded well to pinching back growth to encourage branching. Tested yield by leaving one plant natural and pinching back the other. Pinching back produced way more bud and the plant didn’t seem to mind. The smaller plant only produced 8 bud clusters and those were fairly airy, but showed amber hues a little sooner. Maybe she got less light than the bigger plant. They were both LOW on sunlight. The last 3 weeks of the grow were non-stop rain and storms, very little sunlight. So the girls didn’t stack ‘em up like I wanted. Gotta have light to make bud!! Vegetative growth the first 8 weeks was phenomenal. It wasn’t until the rains set in that progress slowed to a crawl. They were a few feet apart and both facing the equator with daylight to dark exposure. The sun itself wouldn’t cooperate though. Both plants were fed and watered the same. Soil was the same etc.... Only used commonly available garden center nutes. Wanted to demonstrate that a person could take the leap with their first patio grow without having to invest in a lot of special grow stuff. You can! but you at least need decent sunlight. I didn’t weigh the fresh harvest very accurately. I took whole stems to hang them by, and my good scale isn’t that big. I used a bathroom scale and weighed myself holding an empty box and the box again with the harvested plant difference was about 3 lbs. Once I trimmed off the fan leaves and cut it off the roots and trunk it was under a pound. I won’t trim them super tight because very little of it will be smoked, most will be used to make infusions, but I’ll remove as much stem as possible. Curing and storing in C-vault with 62% Boveda packs.

@CoastGrower, good luck!! 🌱 We’ve got clay soil here with very poor drainage, so even my veggies are growing in giant pots.

Hope the rain isn’t going to ruin your bud! Rain here as well 7 days in a row but I made a little shelter, you can see it in my diary. Good luck 👍

@Fast_Buds, thanks! The plants were easy to grow, no issues there. My yields are likely to be below minimums expected, because we had so much rain and darkness those last 3 weeks of the grow. So, they just didn’t stack up like I had hoped. I was able to keep ‘em out of the rain, with a fan running across them to help prevent any issues with high humidity, but it being an outdoor grow, I needed the sun 🌞 to cooperate too. WHEN it’s out, the sun bakes the deck where I grew them. I’m still pleased, considering the adverse weather conditions.
