Mr_Brightside Diary Introduction – Purple Haze (Zamnesia Seeds)
After a long search for the right strain to match both my curiosity and passion, I finally decided to run Purple Haze by Zamnesia Seeds. This strain is legendary – known for its uplifting high, vibrant colors, and that unmistakable Haze character. My goal with this grow is not only to bring these ladies to full potential but also to enjoy every single stage of their development.
For this run I’m also staying true to my favorite nutrient line: BioBizz. Their organic approach and reliable products have always given my plants a healthy, natural expression – and it just feels good to grow in harmony with the soil.
Growing, for me, isn’t just about yield or potency. It’s about creating a bond with the plants – checking on them first thing in the morning, noticing their small changes, and feeling the excitement build up as the weeks go by. This diary will be my way of sharing that journey, step by step, with anyone who wants to follow along.
I should also mention that I’ve been a big fan of Zamnesia genetics for years. Most of my grows have started with their seeds, and they’ve never let me down – always reliable, always full of character. That’s one of the reasons why I enjoy documenting my grows now: to share the potential of these genetics with others and to show how much fun it is to work with them.
And of course, I’m not alone on this journey. Meet my loyal sidekick Mr_Barkside – professional pest-guard, part-time sunbather, and full-time vibe manager. He keeps watch over the grow, stretches his belly in the “sunlight” from the Spider Farmer, and makes sure I never take things too seriously. Together, we’re ready to see what this Purple Haze run will bring.
This diary will be my way of sharing that journey, step by step, with anyone who wants to follow along.
🌱 Day 1 – Germination Begins
Today marks the beginning of the adventure. I placed 14 Purple Haze seeds between damp paper towels, set carefully on a plate, and put them on a heating mat to keep the temperature nice and cozy.
There’s something magical about this stage – so much potential hidden in these tiny shells. I can’t help but feel a mix of patience and excitement. Will they all pop? How strong will they start? Right now, it’s just about waiting and trusting the process.
For the next couple of days, my focus will be on keeping the environment stable – moist but not soaked, warm but not hot. It feels a bit like taking care of fragile little gems. I’m already imagining the moment when those first white taproots show up. That’s when the real journey begins.
🌱 Day 2 – First Signs of Life
Only one day in, and most of the Purple Haze seeds have already cracked open – their tiny taproots pushing out with impressive speed. It’s always fascinating how quickly life responds once the right conditions are met.
Seeing those little white roots gives me a rush of excitement. Each one feels like a promise – a future plant, a future story. I gently checked the paper towels to make sure everything stayed evenly moist, careful not to disturb their delicate roots.
Patience is still the hardest part here. I’m resisting the urge to peek too often, but I can’t help myself – every glance feels like opening a present. If they keep this pace, I’ll be moving them into their first medium very soon. The adventure is truly underway.

Mr_Brightside 🌱 Day 3 – Into the Tent
Eleven out of fourteen Purple Haze seeds have officially germinated and found their way into BioBizz Light Mix. They are now settling in under the Spider Farmer SF1000 inside a 1x1m tent. It feels like the real beginning of the run – from paper towels to soil, the transition is always special.
For now, the seedlings are sharing space with Phteve, my wife’s plant, though he’ll be moving out soon to give the Purple Haze ladies their well-deserved room. With RootJuice in the mix and a careful eye on soil moisture, everything looks smooth so far.
As always, Mr_Barkside kept watch during the whole move. Judging by his relaxed position, I’d say he already feels like the tent is his personal sun lounge.
🌱 Day 4 – Another One Joins (and the Timelapse Begins)
One more seed decided to wake up today – making it twelve out of fourteen germinated! It went straight into Light Mix, joining the others in the tent. Most of the seedlings are already lifting their heads through the soil, looking fresh and full of energy.
To make things even more exciting, I set up a GoPro inside the tent to capture a timelapse of the seedlings’ first days above ground. It’s always fascinating to watch how much they move and grow in such a short time, and this way I’ll have the whole story recorded.
I’m carefully adjusting the SF1000’s height and dimmer to make sure they don’t stretch too much. The balance between light intensity and distance is crucial at this stage – I want strong, compact seedlings, not spindly stems.
Meanwhile, Mr_Barkside chose his usual role: lying belly-up in front of the tent, “photosynthesizing” right along with the plants. He might not grow leaves, but he sure enjoys the light.
🌱 Day 5 – Tiny Green Soldiers
By day five, every Purple Haze seedling had made it above the surface. Twelve little heads now stretch toward the SF2000 Pro, looking lively and ready for the journey ahead.
As I checked the tent, Mr_Barkside sat proudly beside me, giving me that look as if to say: “Told you they’d all make it. Now… where’s my Zamnesia hoodie?”
I had to explain to him again that Zamnesia doesn’t make clothes for dogs. He sighed dramatically and turned away. Still, it’s clear: this dog loves merch more than treats.
🌱 Day 6 – Settling In
The first true leaves are opening, a deep, healthy green. BioBizz Light Mix seems to be the perfect start, no signs of stress. The tent feels balanced, humidity steady, temperature on point.
Meanwhile, Mr_Barkside rolled over belly-up in front of the tent, eyes half closed. I swear I heard him say: “This is what I call quality control. Sunbathing and chill vibes.”
🌱 Day 7 – One Week Old
One week in, and the seedlings are showing their first personalities. Some are compact, some are a little taller, but all look strong. Growth is steady and promising.
Mr_Barkside did his weekly “inspection” – sniffed the tent, sat back, and gave me that approving nod. In my head: “All clear. Good work. Now fetch me a snack.”

Mr_Brightside 🌱 Day 8 – Reaching Higher
The seedlings stretched a bit today, so I lowered the SF2000 Pro to keep them compact. They’re vigorous and full of energy, even if a little taller than I’d like.
From his sunbathing spot, Mr_Barkside smirked at me (yes, dogs can smirk): “Told you they’d stretch. Should’ve listened to me.”
He’s enjoying this way too much.
🌱 Day 9 – Little Personalities
By now, each plant is clearly doing its own thing. Some race upward, others stay bushy. All healthy, all green.
Mr_Barkside stuck close today, though his “contribution” was questionable. Let’s just say the tent got an unexpected wave of dog farts. His excuse (in my head): “Organic CO₂ boost. You should thank me.”
Not exactly the kind of supplement I had in mind.
🌱 Day 10 – Strong Foundations
Ten days in, the seedlings are rooted and confident. Leaves are broad, stems are strong, and the foundation for the grow feels set. The Purple Haze ladies are definitely on their way.
Mr_Barkside sat beside me, unusually calm, watching the plants like a philosopher in deep thought. Then he gave me this look that clearly said: “Growing strong… but imagine how much stronger they’d be if I had some cool merch to wear while supervising.”
He’s not wrong – everything feels better with style. For now, his imaginary Zamnesia hoodie remains a dream, but it doesn’t stop him from being the most loyal (and best-dressed in his mind) grow partner around.
🌱 Day 11 – Roots on the Move
The first roots started peeking out from the bottom of the pots. That’s always a good sign – proof the plants are spreading their foundation below the surface. For now, they’ll stay in their pots a little longer until everything is nicely colonized.
Mr_Barkside tilted his head while I checked the roots, as if to say: “They’re growing paws, just like me. Give them a few more days.”
🌱 Day 12 – Building Momentum
Each plant showed progress – leaves spreading wider, stems getting firmer. The color deepened into a rich green, a clear sign they’re comfortable.
Mr_Barkside sat in front of the tent like a wise coach, calm and observant: “Patience, human. They’re doing fine.”
🌱 Day 13 – Filling Out
The difference from a few days ago was noticeable. Some plants stretched a little taller, others stayed compact, but the overall group looked strong. The tent feels fuller, more alive.
Mr_Barkside took his “inspection round” very seriously today, sniffing every corner of the tent before giving me the approving nod.
🌱 Day 14 – Young Plants, Not Seedlings
By now, they no longer look like fragile seedlings. Broader fan leaves, thicker stems, and the first signs of branching make them look like proper young Purple Haze plants. The GoPro timelapse is capturing every little movement.
Mr_Barkside sat like a foreman in front of the tent, giving me the vibe: “Symmetry’s good. Keep it up.”

Mr_Brightside 🌱 Day 15 – Entering Week 3
Week three begins, and the plants look settled and strong. The canopy is evening out, roots are active, and the leaves are reaching wide under the SF2000 Pro.
Mr_Barkside strolled around the tent and flopped down with a sigh: “They’re ready for more space soon. Don’t keep them waiting.”
🌱 Day 16 – Strong and Confident
Compared to just two days ago, the progress is clear. Leaves are broader, the stems are firm, and the overall impression is one of strength. They’re building momentum for the next stage.
Mr_Barkside sat front row, tail slowly wagging, like he was quietly proud of the team: “They’re finding their stride. Not bad, not bad at all.”
🌱 Day 17 – Growing into Rhythm
The plants have settled into a steady rhythm. Growth is even, the canopy balanced. A few taller girls are showing more side branching, promising a bushy structure later on.
Mr_Barkside circled once, then sprawled out belly-up, announcing: “Inspection passed. Time for sunbathing.”
🌱 Day 18 – A Full Tent
Today the difference hits the eye: the tent looks fuller, greener, more alive than ever. Roots press harder against the pots, a clear signal that transplant is coming soon.
Mr_Barkside gave me that sideways glance only he can: “Bigger pots, bigger plants. Don’t drag it out, rookie.” Then he rolled over as if his work here was done.
🌱 Day 19 – A small Sea of Green
The Purple Haze girls are filling the tent with energy. Leaves are overlapping now, the canopy looks lush and vibrant, and the difference from just a few days ago is striking. Roots are pressing strongly at the bottom of the pots – they’re clearly ready for more space.
Only problem: I forgot to order more soil. So the transplant has to wait a little bit longer until the BioBizz delivery arrives. The girls don’t seem to mind yet, but I know they’re eager to stretch their legs.
Mr_Barkside gave me that classic side-eye: “You had one job, human. Order the dirt.” I guess he’s right – landlord duties mean keeping the apartments ready on time.
