/// This grow features 5 big potted plants (8L) and 5x 0.2L cups as well as a Purple Haze bag seed cup (6th cup plant next to Gelato) ///
I wanted to max out the amount of strains i can get in one run.
This is also the first time I will be using these AC Infinity bootom feeding trays, so lets see how that goes; I will be watering from the top until the plants grew and the roots were able to spread to the ground.
Sadly it was a 4-Pack so the 5th plant wont be getting a feeding tray (yet).
I came up with my own plant-cup design, which allows me to have runoff and be able to pour or test the runoff water, while also being more stable than just a cup.
Im also running the photoperiod tent at 18/6 during veg and am trying out 20/4 for the automatics tent this run.

YouKnov_og Summary of the last ~2 weeks since week 0:
I kind of lost a little track with everything, as i was busy with regular life and also had a relative watch over them.
My main problems were the seedlings which were kind of showing some symptoms of some issues. I couldnt really tell what the problem was, as it couldve been under- as well as overfeeding; or the pH was wrong, or the EC; dosages; ...
I was maybe a little sloppy but it was also hard to keep track of everything.
Two of the automatics, Tangerine Dream (in the small tent/big pot) and Power Plant (small tent/plastic cup) didnt germ, or didnt come out because i may have planted them too deep (TD perhaps, but the root didnt grow beyond 2cm), or they just gave up halfway through breaking out (PP; maybe i transferred it from wet paper to medium too soon; although the coco was wet and not too wet, so it shouldve just kept going.
I have reordered TD and PP, and also ordered 2 more automatic seeds to put into the run (Diesel Automatic from Zamnesia Seeds and a mystery Anesia Seeds automatic seed (one of 15, i assume)). While this might seem a little overambitious and the tent could get crowded, i will put them into the tiny cups and if they fail and this idea turns out to be dumb and they all die, well fuck it, you live and learn but i want to do this.
So anyway after i was away from the plants for a few days, both photos and autos grew much bigger from when i last saw them, maybe 3-5 days ago at that time. Legit went from seedling stage to growing first their set of one-prong leaves, to two emerging branches, then all of a sudden they doubled in size and theres a second node growing already.
The time i was away i was a bit anxious because the little seedlings were showing these kind of unidentifiable issues. I adjusted the feeding but at the same time i had to introduce my plants to the bottom-feeding and fill the trays. All of this was kind of a hassle, given that i was stressed with other stuff around those days already.
Anyway, i layed it all into the hands of AC Infinity and Terra Aquatica as well as CANNA's nutrients. I set all the trays and plants up with the strings that sucks water up so the pot and plant can soak it up (i know with coco it seems a little wrong, as coco needs that washing and runoff. For that i still water from the top once to thrice a week, Id say. I'll adjust as it goes, but ive heard some convincing reviews and when I came back to my plants, expecting the worst, i was met with stronger, more beautiful plants and wet soil and no problems.
Purple Punch and the other plants got a real JUNGLE treatment one day, when I turned on the humidifier to bump the RH for the lil seedlings, I intentionally didnt turn on the DEhumidifier, just got the exhaust system with the charcoal filter.
Said filter is also wearing its sock, as its recommended you put it on your active charcoal filters. However, that thing was soaked and dripping (and probably restricted the outtake and didnt let much of the water through), as well as EVERYTHING else in the tent. Walls, ground, appliances, pots and PLANTS! The weak, young plants were hit by huge droplets forming on their lil 2-3cm leaves. Purple Punch got hit real hard with it getting bent down like youre doing LST but on a seedling. The Gelato#45 plant in the plastic cup also got bent pretty hard. Pink Rozay and Colombian Gold however, survived and stood their ground; standing a perfect figure, straight up with 2 leaves out the side, both having around 5-6 relatively large droplets of water, neatly arranged along each side edge. (so one leave had like 10 - 12 droplets together around the edges of ONE leave. those plants are strong, or got lucky positioning. Anyhow it looked cool). YET. YEt, naturally, the plants regained a lot of strength. Purple Punch got back up and shows for it by having a thicker main stem than her fellows already. Gelato, which showed a bit of stretching at the beginning, as it was placed too low, is also growing well.
I have not mentioned Colombian Gold for another fortunate surprise: she was showing symptoms of what i believe was OVERfeeding, so i toned it down a bit (after i thought i was UNDERfeeding her), but this was right when i had to leave and couldnt watch her daily and was like "🙏 [insert deity] take the wheel". Then today i come back and to my surprise she has regained her strength and shows a healthy green color in her leaves.
I have regained some trust and optimism for this grow and am excited where it will lead.
I also upgraded my dehumidifier water catching tank by putting a pump inside which pumps water out of it. Normally you use the hose that comes with it and gravity and downward angles from the outlet, which means i had to place the DEhum higher than some bucket, inside my tent. TErrible. Pump settup: Easy. pump runs 30 min every 30 min (could be way less but i dont have that precise of a timer clock)
I do have to mention the auto tent shit thats going on tho: I know this wasnt well thought through, i just wanted to go for it and try a 2 tent setup. i have 2 60W lights from my frist grows and i put one of them inside for now. Since this was my DRYING tent from previous grows, it already had an exhaust system. I put the plants in, everythings fine, except for the humidity, which is like 40-50% in my basement and thus in the AC-less tent. I bought a cheapo humidifier but it seems to only run for a few hours before automatically shutting off and i cant change that, so imma have to buy another one so i lost money again.
anyway those plants im hopeful for and can see they are pulling through, but the low and irregular humidity mightve caused some issues, or some other factors. (Yes i have an airflow fan in BOTH tents.). Ill see where it goes, especially when theres more plants in there.
For now im very happy that my plants in fact DIDNT die and pulled through the past turbulent week.
Today i changed the water in the trays so they now got fresh nutrient solutions to feed on, i also poured some solution on top of the soil, even though it was damp/wet. I also realized i forgot to add CANNA Cannazym this entire time, since this can be added from the start it seems (it has a very sweet smell, kinda weird and heavy, very sugary).
I want to try stuff out and specifically i want to try out as many strains as i can in one go cuz my ADHD, weed addicted brain cant stand only having one strain and need to constantly have something different.
TL;DR: wasnt able to pay 100% of my attention to the lil fragile symptomatic seedlings this week and was pleasently surprised that they are in fact still growing and are strong ladies. Two auto seeds (Power Plant, Tangerine Dream) didnt sprout, so im reordering and adding strains. Grow is going well.
Anyhow thats the Week 2 update (im counting from Week 0 (sprouting and early seedling))👍👍👻

YouKnov_og The plants were growing well the past few days. the last 2 days i stopped the bottom-feeding and watered from the top. tomorrow i will clean the trays and resume with the bottom-feeding.
I also built a table for the small auto tent (out of a canvas with support beams in the middle, so i could cut a whole to fit the bigger pot) so now all the little plants have enough a secure and even ground and once i put another tray of some sort under the bigger pot, the soil levels will be roughly even.
this configuration took up the entire space tho, so i couldnt use the new humidifier anymore in that tent. That Humidifer was trash tho anyway and i was looking for a new option, even ordered cheap atomizers (which is exactly what was in the humidifier i got), but i didnt wanna wait until next monday (it was tuesday or wednesday) so today on thursday i DIYed some kind of double air duct setup for the humidifier. Im not 100% sure this work tho. since the negative pressure in the tents is what sucks in the water vapor from the nossle through either duct, the amoutn of vapor entering each tent might be fought over by whichever negative pressure is higher in either of the tents, and i think the small tent is sucking in all of the vapor.
Its hard to check, as when i open the door, the negative pressure equalizes and theres no force sucking in the vapor anymore. So imma have to check with my hygrometers' history in the app. and if this solution doesnt work, I got 3 small atomizers on the way, which are definitely plent for the tent.
I also started topping my plants when i realized that i should maybe start doing that now (they grew so fast, i kinda forgot to think about it). i could only top MR, PP and CG so far, because Pink Rozay's current upmost node is too small to cut off yet.
Im unsure how i will train them. Im also bound to one plant sitting higher than the others, due to the fact that i cant fit 4 trays side by side in my photo tent, so one has to be elevated (although maybe i can fix that somehow). I dont want the plants to get too big, but i also want nice canopies. Ive been thinking scrogging, or maybe stick to LST. but the cables are so unhandy and i kinda suck at planning. although since i topped one plant last time, i feel that I can work better with a topped plant due to the symmetry. Ill see.
Oh right and I added the new seeds i ordered as well as the replacements for Power Plant and Tangerine Dream. The new auto seeds are Diesel Automatic from Zamnesia Seeds (I've had this in my first grow, it was my very first home grown plant i smoked and it was the most delicious thing ever (tasted like straight lemon candy in my vape) Also my friend has been wanting this one again since i first grew it. I know the plant will be tiny but its something) as well as a mystery seed from Anesia Seeds which turned out to be Violet Face. I also got another free mystery RQS F1 Hybrid seed, but it was MilkyWay AGAIN lmao
The seeds sprouted, only Tangerine Dream is taking tis time and isnt fully peaking out yet. I need a tray for that pot so i can water the coco until runoff and wet the whole thing so the plant can penetrate everywhere with her roots.
Thats everything for this week. Gonna be a lot more working on the plants now with all that LST. Im not sure how much Ill train the small plants yet. Ill see.
Until next week
/// EDIT 04/10/25 ///
the dual humidifier thing wasnt working at all. I realized when i thought about it again in the evening that day. Well whatever i just wanted to try.
I put the humidifier back into the big tent and the now semi connected tube, which was taped to the lid of the humidifier as a Y split gate before. The two tents are now kind of connected with some additional air intake halfway through. I also dont have a lid for the humidifier right now lol (doesnt matter that much).
The water atomizers i ordered arrived today so i got to trying them out, had to tape a button down, but in the end i probably wont even use them now. You see, the duct connecting the tents serves the smaller tent well. The smaller tent has a higher negative pressure, i assume, thus it might be removing some moist air from the big tent alongside regular air. Because when i checked the hygrometer's history, it sat at a comfortable ~50% Rh at around 20°. I checked a VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) chart and those values check out to be around what is idea lfor the current stage im in.
Ill see how it goes.. I got the lil humidifiers ready to go now, but i also dont have a DEhumidifier for the small tent, so i need to juggle and balance the values a lil and see how it goes. There might be a new tent on the way too. An all-in-one set which has everything i need and way better components than what i got for the small tent now. Might be cheap ware but what i got for the small tent rn is not better lmao
What else.. I performed some artistic LST on the small auto plants (Apple Fritter, MilkyWay, Strawberry Cola). The plastic cups dont allow for an easy attachment of rubber wire to the pot. i dont want to stake the plant either, since the pot size is soo small.
I ended up going around the cups circumference once, then hooking the end to the rest. Then next step is to set some kind of resistance near the bottom of the stem, so when u bend the top part down, the rest of the plant doesnt bend with, and you get a nice curve along a 90° angle.
It was some work to get the wire right, a mix between sowing and art. I was careful as to not damage the plants but some parts required applying strength, although the cup held and i didnt damage any plant (except a tiny tear in 2 leaves).
Back in the photo tent, the Gelato#45 plant (small cup) isnt doing too well. Seems like i overwatered it, as all the leaves are looking very sad and bent down from the branch. Idk what to do except let it dry out a bit. I hope thats the problem and nothing else. I didnt treat it differently to the other cup plants.
Pink Rozay in the big pot seems to have some nutrient burn.. On the lower leaves theres some crispy edges, brown/greyish color. Has been developing for the past few days. Not sure what component is wrong but I'll look into it. The other plants I topped are recovering well. I topped Pink Rozay too today, despite some nutrient problems. Im certain it can pull through.
Im not sure how big i can let the plants get yet. Theres 4 big ones in the big tent and theyre rather close-by. One is also perma-elevated. So i hope theres one plant that stays low enough (Purple Punch might be contender...) so I can put it up there.
I still have one ScrOG net, i might put that to use.
I also plan on DIYing all of the bottom feeding containers. Like PLEASE it can't be that hard to find a deep base tray and a flat dish to put on top, drill some holes, ...
Thats basically it, just a glorified plant base with runoff catcher. Just that i then put some wick in there and let it suck everything up for the plant to then suck in.
I haven't had the chance to go to the gardening store, but I might do it on monday.
My biggest issue is the HUGE size of the AC Infinity trays. theyre like 45 cms in diameter. that doesnt fit in to my 60x120cm (with like 30cm being occupied by appliances so really 60x90cm). My pots are freaking 20cm(!!!!) in diameter, they look tiny on the huge ass trays. they take up too much space. i need trays that are like 25-30cm MAX. So theres gotta be something i can DIY.
Thats all today

YouKnov_og :
Another week another another problem. The grow light in my big tent (photo plants) has been on a 24h lights on schedule since- idk, could be since the beginning. Reason for all this being POOR PRODUCT DESIGN!!! The timer clock i was using has a switch which lets me use either the set timings for 'on' and 'off', or a continuous 'on'-setting. You can take a wild guess as to which setting does what from the pics of the timer.. (spoiler: whatever is being COVERED by the switch is what the setting is. Now. I know this isnt too crazy and does make sense, but being so accustomed to having visual indicators of a current setting, i mustve been tricked by the "displayed"/visible symbol.
And i wonder why my plants are growing so fast since the beginning and are now getting these HUGE fan leaves, literally shielding the little branches from the blaring sun. I literally TURNED UP the LIGHT INTENSITY because i was like "hmm thats not strong enough". I even looked at the hygrometer like "hmm why isnt the temp going down at night?? Must be the dehumidifier heating up the air to 23°C at night, when my small tent is seeing a 22° to 18° drop at night, synchronous to the 20/4 light schedule.
Anyway, happens i thought. Im gonna slowly decrease the light schedule from the past 24/0 to 22/2, 20/4, 18/6 over a few days each.
I dont know what happened or went through my mind, must've been hella high or sum, but after switching to the timer-setting on the timer clock, i added an hour to the setting already in the timer? So i didnt even reset the 18/6 schedule that was already programmed (but bypassed by the wrong setting), but also added another hour to the night, so made it 17/7 for like 2 days. Its hard to explain how i even added more 'off' time, its an old timer clock with pins i push down or pull up, turning off the power when the internal clock is at that stage.
Anyway i just put the setting to 18/6 now and will just leave it there and let the plants recover.
Speaking of recover: The Purple Punch plant is getting hit by some problems on the big fan leaves. theyre crispy, edges turned up and the parts between the veins have yellow spots. This all hints to nutrient lockout, calmag deficiency and pH instability. So im gonna work on that and also flush from top, so no bottom feeding.
The other plants are healthy. Mostly... I was training the plants and accidentally snapped the upmost branches when trying to bend them. so i acted quick and used some tree balm to mend the wound and let it recover. I used this before, it always works, the plant looks healthier already after a day.
The first automatics that sprouted (Apple Fritter, MilkyWay and Strawberry Cola) are also starting to flower now (after around 30 days (~4-5 weeks after sprouting)). Ive been training them and and I'm excited.
Im also gonna do something else: I'll repot some of the cup plants into 1 litre fabric pots with a bottom feeding system. I know its late for the flowering plants, but im afraid i wont be able to keep up with feeding them. The Gelato #45 photo plant which is also in a plastic cup has been drooping for the past week, so i wanna repot her too.
In a few days or a week, i will most likely then also transplant the new autos into 1 litre pots.
Im not sure yet how long I'll let the photos grow still. I always struggle with figuring out how far to train them (how wide) and how tall to let the colas grow. whats too tall where the top buds get all the light and energy and whats too small?
Since the plants stretch heavily at the start of flower, i might go about two thirds into width while in veg and then the remaining third with the first part of stretch in flower and the rest goes upward... That might be best
Thats pretty much all for this week. I did a lot of LST on the plants and tried fixing problems.
/// EDIT 11/10/2025 ///
Today i did the first kind of defoliating on the plants (primarily the big photo plants): The second set of big fan leaves were covering everything below the top branches. I was sure the plants can get through losing a pair of huge energy generators, but the plant couldnt grow much like this. TBH i maybe shouldve done this earlier, although with the 24h light, leaving these protective leaves there was probably a life saver.
i also did further LSTing and i think i did a pretty good job. I also LOVE topping. I've done it for the first time last grow with a Blue Dream AUTO plant (it went really well, didnt get stunted or anything (not that i could tell at least) but since photo plants easily get through topping, a one time top at that...) and i loved the easy LSTing with a topped plant, since its so symmetric. You can really plan out the shape of the plant and the bud sites. I understand it all now.
I love this hobby and I'm having so many ideas fro how i can use my grow space- I could do 2 big big plants in the 60x120cm tent and and 4 plant setup in a future 80x80cm tent (ill get one for drying (or rather ill change to the bigger tent and dry the plants in my 60x60cm). This is so exciting!
