destroytek Flowering Week 3 – When Humidity Hits and Whiteflies Show Up
This week was defined by two major challenges: high humidity levels and the appearance of whiteflies. Relative humidity spiked to over 80 % at night, which can be risky during the flowering stage. Additionally, the first signs of a whitefly infestation were observed.
Both issues were addressed promptly: Neem oil was applied immediately (250 ml spray solution), and no further spread has been seen. Several steps were taken to reduce and stabilize the humidity: the grow tent was repositioned slightly away from the corner to improve airflow, and both a second circulation fan (Cloudray S6 Pro) and an AC Infinity heater were installed. The exhaust duct was also rerouted to the window. These measures made it much easier to maintain stable temperature, humidity, and VPD values.
Apart from that, the week went smoothly. The plants are developing well, stretch is in full swing, and the SCROG net is filling out nicely. The net is currently positioned 37 cm above the top of the pots.
In preparation for the upcoming flowering stages, a significant defoliation was carried out during the week: more than 50 % of the lower foliage has been removed. There are now barely any leaves below the SCROG net to allow better airflow and light penetration.
Feeding followed the official HESI soil schedule, including PowerZyme. Watering occurred three times this week, with 9 L of nutrient solution per session (for 3 plants in 11 L plastic pots). Phosphor Plus will be added starting next week.
The fourth week of flowering is about to begin, and despite the earlier challenges, the plants are looking healthy and strong.
