Hello and thanks for checking out my journal. I'll be growing out 4 extra clones that I did not expect make it, I let them dry out to the brink of death on accident, so I'll be using them in a little test.
I will be testing a new organic fertilizer since am seeing the same deficiencies once in flower with Jobes organic dry fertilizers. I'll be choosing a new blend with less nitrogen and more phosphorus. I will be using Dr Earth's all purpose (444) and flower girl (394) and either Espoma products or Down to Earth products.
Each clone will be potted in to a one gallon felt pot with amended Sunshine mix #4. Every 3 weeks each will relieve a top dressing until week 5ish of flower
My overall goal is to use readily available products to grow great organic cannabis. I want to keep it simple, reduce my time in the garden and be able to teach my friends and family. I don't want to intimate them with the need for expensive and specialized fertilizers and equipment when I don't believe they are needed for the home grower.
Check back for weekly updates and to see what fertilizers I end up with. Check out my Instagram, its updated daily
This week has shown great growth from all the clones. Lavender CL#2 was just a stick last week and now its pushing out new growth every day. I'll be transplanting the clones to 2 gallon felt pots as soon as they need to be watered each day. Hopefully before next weeks update.
Unfortunately the Lavender clones are not as similar enough size to do a great side by side comparison. I will focus on the Quick Critical+ clones since they are nearly identical with small updates on the Lavenders.
I will be comparing Down To Earth organic fertilizers, specifically "Vegitable Garden (4.4.4)" and "Rose and Flower mix (4.8.4)", to Dr. Earth organic Fertilizers, specifically "All Purpose (4.4.4)" and "Flower Girl" (3.9.4). Both contain a better blend of organic amendments than I found in Jobe's organic
I also have changed my light schedule from 18/6 to 20/4. I have a few autos going in the same tent and I wanted to try what their breeder recommended. I'm not expecting much of a difference to be honest.
Have a great week 😁
*The fertilizer section doesn't allow me to add what I'm using properly so check the comments for more info
Hi all,
All the ladies were transplanted about 5 days ago and all have put on a great deal of growth. Especially the Lavender potted with Dr. Earth organic ap fertilizer, she almost has caught up to her sister. So far there is no real difference between the quick critical clones.
The clones were planted into sunshine #4 soilless mix with 1tbsp/gal of lime and about 10% perlite added.
Half the mix was fertilized with 1/4c per gallon of Dr. Earth all purpose 444 and the other half with 1/4c per gallon of Down to Earth Vegetable Garden 444. There fertilizers we're we'll incorporated into the mix before potting
I also topped the QC+ clones but I'll be letting the lavender grow naturally.
It's been a couple of weeks since my last update. Both the QC+ and the Lav have flourished since being repotted but there is no evident difference between the Down to Earth and Dr. Earth plants yet.
About a week ago I took clones, defoliated, and trained with Qp+ plants. The clones went to a friend for the outdoor season.
All of the plants have been topdressed with their respective products, I used about 2.5 tablespoons per gallon of media. I also added about a cup of worm castings to each plant as well. The worm castings and fertilizers we're we'll mixed on the surface and watered in.
About a week ago I put both LAVs into flower and I have just moved both QC+s under 12/12 as well.
Not many pictures for this update, it's been a busy couple weeks at the wyzl household. Hopefully I'll have a lot more on the next update
The stretch has started. Both the Quick Critical+ and Lavenders have both nearly doubled in size and started to bud.
This week they only received tap water ph'd to 6.5, about 3L every 3-4 days. Next week they'll all receive their next top dressing of flowering/bloom amendments.
The QC+ both look very similar to each other and both seem healthy. The Dr. Earth plant does seem slightly larger and has longer internode spacing.
The Lavenders look similar as well. In person they look nearly identical, except for some brown spotting on largest leaves of the Dr. Earth plant. I'll keep an eye on the spotting, especially following the next topdressing
Best of luck with the grow my friend and thank you for choosing our genetics for this adventure on the grow diary platform 👍
You look to be off to a nice start with our Quick Critical 👌
Let's see what you can do with this "Quick" flowering lady 👍
All the best ✌️
