Germination
1mo ago
Hawii_ReLoaded Hi Guys and welcome 🤘😊 Finally the time has come to start another grow. I‘m pretty excited for this SQ1 and RHS cultivars :) The seeds germinated within 48 hours in a glass of water and were successfully planted into the seedling pots. Germination was done in an thermo box with an heating mat set at approx. 22-23 degrees C. Kept a little spacer in between that the seeds don’t have a direct contact to the heating mat. Other third seed is Last Dance by Wizard Trees which will be shown in a separate grow diary 😉 The next update will hopefully include the sprouted seedlings and a summary of the self mixed Living Soil which will be used on this run. More details will follow shortly 😁✌️ Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned💚🌱

Hawii_ReLoaded Hey Growmies 🤘 Week 1 - Day 1-7 🌱 All seedlings successfully sprouted. Will start counting the days on this diary once they have broken through the soil surface. Took another 48 hours after transplant until all of them got visible. Used a humidity dome for the first two days. Seedling pot: 70% BioBizz Light Mix 20% Wormcastings 5% Compost 5% Perlite Added to the total soil volume of 4.5 liters Basalt, Gypsum and Kelp meal (1-TL/Tsp each). The kelp should support with the root development as there are a lot of growth hormones contained. Watered in with 5% of total soil volume with filtered tap water. No PH adjustment. Prepared pots were sitting for some days before the sprouted seeds were transplanted. Sprinkled Rootwise Complete around each seed during the transplant. Apple Jacked developing pretty fast and looks healthy. This genetic already looks quite promising in this early stage. Cherry Ocean is a little behind, but she will definitely catch up. Overall I’m watering in small doses that the roots actively searching for moisture and without the risk of overwatering the medium. Current Conditions: PPFD: 280-300 (SANlight Stixx @40%) VPD: 0.6-0.7 (Offset 0 degrees C) Not much to report about the first few days. The next update will include a detailed report on the mixed living soil which is already maturing since 10 days. However want to take the time and describe the procedure to everyone who is interested in this soil mixing process :) Stay tuned on the next update and keep on growing 🤘

Hawii_ReLoaded Hey Guys and welcome 😁✌️ 📆 Week 2 - Day 14 The little ladies were growing fast over the last week. They’re looking healthy and feeling happy in their environment. Apple Jacked is the most vigorous in the tent and the growth rate is phenomenal. As you can see on the pictures Cherry Ocean has a leaf mutation. The previous experience showed that such kind of mutation shouldn’t be an issue and settle down with the next developing leaves. However this will be a reason why I will pop next time at least another bean to choose from the most vigorous pheno types. Specifically on such type of new crosses which haven’t been tested before. Was working on some modifications in my grow area over the last days. So everything is ready that the girls can move to their final containers within the next days. Current conditions: VPD: 0.8-0.9 (0 degrees C Offset) Light intensity: 300 PPFD They got their weekly amendments: Rootwise complete, Rootwise enzyme, coconut water powder, Aloe vera, FPE Horsetail, BAS wetting agent Living Soil: As promised from early start of this diary will provide a summary of the mixed living soil. At first would like to point out that my target was this time to create a recipe which isn’t that heavy on nitrogen. Many classic LS recipes are using ingredients which are containing a lot of N. That’s why wanted to try out something different. Also the amount of aeration was almost doubled compared to last run. That will support stronger root growth and a healthier soil. Wanted to share my thoughts with the community. All ingredients are strictly organic. Most by Almicanna Spain. Nutrient amendments: Kelp, Crustacean meal, Neem, Insect frass, Malted Barley, Bat Guano, Soft Rock Phosphat, Fish meal, Camelina meal, Soy meal, FHM, Bokashi, Craft Blend (BAS) Minerals: Basalt, Gypsum, Oyster Shell, Alga lime, Azomite, Greensand, Java Lava, Leonardita Base Mix: Peat moss 34%, Worm castings 20%, Compost 5%, Biochar 6% Aeration: Pumice+Rice husks 35% The minerals was first mixed into the base mix, second nutrients and last aeration. My idea is to have a high diversity of the single ingredients, that there is no single ingredient dominating the soil mix. At the end the mix was watered in with 5% (total soil volume) filtered tap water and tilled every few days. The mix heated up after a few days, but as there are no bone, blood or feather meal included it came back to a normal temperature level after a few days. Personally I avoid these three ingredients, as I don’t want to stress the soil biology with substances which may still be contained from animal breeding. These ingredients are allowed for organic farming but in most cases they are not organic. It’s cheap and a very popular product in many organic fertilizers which are available on the market. Don’t want to point out it‘s a bad practice, but it’s just my personal preference. At the end everyone needs to decide for themselves what is the right path to move forward :) That was just my thoughts on this topic and could go on now forever, but don’t want to bore you guys with it. If you were reading all the way down here, really appreciate you were taking the time 💚 this means a lot to me!!

Hawii_ReLoaded Hey Growmies 🌱 📆 Week 3 - Day 21 It’s time to start with the Sunday updates again. The little girls got transplanted on day 16 into their final home the 75 liter (20gal) Grassroots living soil pots. The roots were looking very healthy and almost filled mainly the small pots. After transplanting my target was to establish a healthy and high fertilized mulch layer to attract the feeder roots coming to the top surface. The last pictures will show more details how this mulch layer was created. Blumat automatic dripping system was also installed and needs now to be adjusted to the new soil type. Set the hanging drip and -1 arrow back. The plants are growing fast and looking healthy. There will be a explosive growth once they have established a strong root system in the new container. Current conditions: VPD: 0.9 (-1 degrees C offset) Lights intensity: 270-340 PPFD Blumat digital moisture meter: 60-80 mbar Mulch layer in BuildASoil way: 1. Layer: 1/4 cup (60ml) BAS Craft Blend 2. Layer: 2-3 tablespoons Malted Barley 3. Layer: 2-3 tablespoons Bokashi Everything slightly mixed into the surface of the soil. Just ensure these nutrients are not directly on the main stem, to avoid any microbial activity in this area. Last - Top dress: Next step was a compost top dress with a mix of worm castings, premium compost, kelp, neem meal, crustacean meal, mustard seed meal, biochar, basalt and gypsum. Last but not least sprinkled a mix of different cover crops seeds around the outer part of the container and covered them with some more castings and IMO4. At the end everything was covered with organic straw and watered in some SF-nematodes for preventive pest control. That was basically everything what I wanted to cover for today’s update. Stay tuned and thanks a lot for stopping by 🙏🌱

Hawii_ReLoaded Hey Growmies and welcome 🌱🍀 📆 Week 4 - Day 28 Current conditions: VPD: 0.9-1.0 (-1 degrees C Offset temperature) Light intensity: 350-420 PPFD There was quite some development within the last week. Plants looking healthy, but it appears the soil is a bit too hot for this genetics, as there is small tip burn visible on some leaves. Too much dry back could have been also be a reason for this. However this will not create any issues, as they will be in high demand for nutrients over the next weeks. Apple Jacked was topped mid of the week. Cherry Ocean will be topped by tomorrow. It’s beneficial to let the plants first get strong before starting with topping or LST to avoid a stop in the growth rate. The upper first side branches should also be in a stage where it can supply itself. Means small well developed leaves. Apple Jacked is still the most vigorous in the tent, but Cherry Ocean is slowly catching up. Will start with some more LST and get the side branches in position and bushy before starting the flowering cycle. Trying to keep the height as low as possible to have enough space for the stretch. Planning to reduce the light duration by next week first to 17 hours and after to 16 hours before switching to 12/12. This should help the plant for a smooth hormone change to produce flowers. Light intensity will be increased to approx. 550 PPFD. Other than this everything else is on cruise control and we’re sailing into the last 1-2 weeks of veg. They got their weekly soil drench with FPEs, Aloe, Coconut water, Rootwise Enzymes, Rootwise Complete and wetting agent. Thank you for reading and see ya next week 🤘💚

Hawii_ReLoaded Hi Guys 🤘🌱 📆 Week 5 - day 35 Belated update. Took some pictures on the weekend, but unfortunately had no time to update the diary. But here we go :) Current conditions: VPD: 0.9-1.0 (-1 degrees C Offset) PPFD: 510 DLI: 30 This week continued with LST to spread the branches wide out to get a even canopy. Used some LST clips and bended down the side branches. Apple Jacked is dominating the tent and it’s hard for Cherry Ocean to catch up. However the next weeks will be interesting to get both on the same level. Probably will use one or two trellis nets, but let’s see how they will perform during stretch. Defoliation was done yesterday, already in week 6. Heavy defoliation and lollipopping will be done in the third week of flower. For preventive pest control used per plant three different species of predator mites. Additionally sprinkled some Hypoaspis mites on the soil surface. There is a few fungus gnats flying around, but their population is luckily very low. Specially with such a high content of compost in the soil it’s very important to reduce their population early on to avoid an explosive growth. Slowly reduced the light duration from 17 to 16 hours and they are getting now since almost a week 16 hours of light per day. Planning to flip to 12/12 tomorrow or the day after. Quite excited what comes up over the next weeks 😊 Want to give you some background details about the two cultivars: Apple Jacked (Square One Genetics): Apple Fritter x BAG Terpene Profile: Apple, Sweet, Gas, Hint of Spice Flowering time: 65-68 days Reasoning: Apple terpenes can be uplifting yet calming. The sweet and spice notes add depth, potentially easing tension without sedation. It's like a crisp autumn apple-refreshing and grounding for the spirit. This terp profile was the reason why I choose this cultivar. I’m getting a very nice stem rub with hints of green apples and spice. Cherry Ocean (Robin Hood Seeds): Tropicana Cherry x Ocean Fruit Terpene Profil: A merry mix of sweet cherry and tropical fruit notes, backed by that signature Ocean Fruit gas Flowering time: 63-65 days Reasoning: Perfect for those who enjoy fruity complexity with a gassy finish Also getting a very interesting stem rub from her. Would not describe it as fruity, but a mix between spice, kushy and piney. Hope the fruity Ocean Fruit part will be more dominant during flower. The automatic watering system works perfectly. Will give them a few days after flip a bit more dry back to trigger flower. Currently the reading on the Blumat moisture sensor is between 50-90 mBar. During watering the sensor is approx. at 35 mbar, but will settle after a few hours over 50 mbar again. That’s pretty much all for week 5 and hope did not bore you too much with this details 😊 Peace and stay tuned on the next update ✌️ keep on growing 🌱🌱
