MyDankDog Terpyz Mutant Genetics - Cheesus Christ S1: After 48 hours in spring water, the seed had germinated, with about 1 cm tap-root. I potted the cracked bean in a 16-ounce BudCup with ProMix Organic seed starter mix. 96 hours, the germinated bean had started to open its cotyledons above the potting mix. At 120 hours, the seedling is stretching, has the first set of true leaves appearing and is looking healthy. At 144 hours, the first set of true leaves are growing nicely. One Week (168 hours) Looking nice! 9 days, second set of true leaves are growing. 11 days old, trues leaves are broadening and the second set of trues leaves are growing nicely. 12 days old, feeding with 20ml spring water daily (no nutrients) in a 16oz cup of ProMix Organic seed starter. 13 days old, second set of true leaves growing nicely. Two weeks since cracking, looking nice.

MyDankDog Three weeks above ground and her leaves are looking yellowish overall, and between the leaf veins of newer leaves. The roots are starting to look root bound, so she's been in the 16oz up for too long. I re-potted her in a 3 gal fabric pot, in 70%coco mixed with 30% perlite. I sprinkled mycorrhizal inoculant in her new transplant hole and directly onto her roots. I also snipped her lower true leaves. She'll start to look healthier in a few days as her roots expand into her new home. A few days later she's starting to look darker.

MyDankDog Heading off to MJBizCon, I was dealing with CalMag deficiency, PPMs still medium/low at 500. pH 5.9-6. So I was worried to see how she looked when I got back after 5 days.

Week 20. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

My stack generally looks like this. pH Perfect Micro + Grow + Bloom (custom mixed, I kept Grow through the grow, and added Bloom in flower) Big Bud (added in actual flowering for PK boost) Bud Candy (run consistently or sometimes skipped) CalMag as needed (should be more routine in coco baseline every feed) Mycorrhizae in early stages Water only when the pot feels light, pH 5.9-6.1, PPM capped at below 1200. I also used Revive for CalMag deficiencies, and Overdrive about 2-3 week of late flower. Overall the plant was a bit sensitive to pH swings. She's very good looking, the structure is similar to a rose. I've see other Cheesus Christ S1 grows were the traits were much different, larger buds and colas. No real cheese smell during grow. More sweaty and meat pastry. When cutting, it smelled more like ginger, stingy in the nostrils and marmite on the hands. During curing it smells mild cheesy sweat, and very food like, really reminds me of marmite. My general approach is to play it safe, Coco 70% + perlite 30% is mostly inert (especially if it's buffered coco), so it has very little natural biology compared to soil. Adding mycorrhizae (and the bacteria that often come with it) early helps the roots colonize faster, improves nutrient and water uptake, and builds a stronger root system overall. This directly supports my "play it safe" philosophy, healthier roots mean the plant can make better use of moderate PPM feeds (below 1200), custom ratios, and additives like Bud Candy without as much stress. CalMag: Coco is notorious for binding calcium and magnesium. Even if i'm adding it "as needed," I try to make it more consistent and aim for a baseline of 100-150 ppm CalMag (or 1-2 ml/L depending on your brand) in every feed, especially if using RO or distilled low-mineral water. Add it after Micro but before Grow/Bloom in your mixing order. pH target: 5.9-6.1 is good, in 70/30 coco/perlite I let it drift a bit between waterings. Phosphorus and potassium (what Big Bud boosts) become more available in this slightly lower range. Watering style: Because of the high perlite content, the mix dries out faster than straight coco. I wait until the pot feels light. You may need to water more frequently in peak veg/early flower than in soil, but always with runoff (10-20%) to prevent salt buildup. PPM in this medium: Staying below 1200 is very safe and smart. (my opinion) In 70/30 coco/perlite, most people can comfortably run: Veg: 600-950 PPM Early flower: 900-1100 PPM Mid flower (with Big Bud): 1000-1200 PPM

I think I could have waited another week to chop. I just got a new rosin press so I wanted to try and get an earlier harvest to experiment with.
