Chucky324 Hello. This is the start of my Lemon Mandarin Diary.
I won 3rd place on diary of the month back in March and this the last pack from that prize.
I sent 2 packs to my friend Chuckwaggon420. Check out his diaries to see them
Since trying Orange Bud, that came out of California, back in the 80's... I've wanted a strong orange tastings strain for a while..
We'll see if this is the strain I've been looking for. The reviews sound great.
I don't like floaty seeds... So I put them in a silk tea bag and submerge them.
My soak water is Reverse Osmosis water from the water store, but that was 5.1 ph so I had to adjust it to 6.2.
2 cups of RO water with a pinch of cinnamon and 4 drops of 30% Hydro Peroxide.
The cinnamon is anti fungal and has similar properties to cloning gel. The seeds don't mind it.
The Hydrogen Peroxide helps to break down the membrane that surrounds the inside soft little seed, and helps the husk slide off easily.
It also helps clean the water of fungus and bacteria and adds extra oxygen to the water for the little seedlings.
I'll start another underground comic in a few weeks... so check back to read it.

The plants are doing good and growing well.
They are up to about 600 ppm when I water them
Did the rub test on them and was slapped in the face with a strong cat pee smell with a hint of citrus.
The smell will change as they grow, but I thought if was humorous.
Started a new underground comic for your enjoyment. It's Weirdo #13 printed in 1993.

These girls need to be topped. Should have done that last week, but I'll do that this week.
I like to put sulphur on the cut stem. It helps the plants heal up nicely.
I try to not get it on the soil, I tilt the plant, or on the leaves. It looks like white powdery mildew on the leaves.
Almost always gets me, I see it on a leaf a couple of weeks later and the first thing I think is WPM... till I remember...
I see some bottom leaves going yellow. They are asking for a bit more food.

Everyone is doing good here. They have overcome their repotting experience and are growing a bit now.
Getting those top branches spread out and under that first rung of the cage.
I'll push the smaller branches up through the middle of the plant while spreading out the upper branches.
They are getting about 3/4 strength nutrient now. Still watering it down a bit.
The seed description said these seeds produce big plants, so I'm doing what I can to keep the size down to manageable.

The next trim up will be before the end of week 2... before the resin starts to show
I'll take more sucker branches off and trim up some of those fan leaves in the middle for better air movement.
And any fan leaf that doesn't get light on the bottom comes off as well.

My wife sends me the cute or funny pics I use... The one with the hot knives brought back a memory, of a friend at 17 years old, slipped when giving himself a hash hit and burning himself on the cheek... and having to go the school like that.... all the students knew what it was and he got a lot of teasing and had the mark on his face for months... Be Careful...

Got in here and did some trimming up a few days ago.
Got rid of most of the sucker branches and bottom fanleaves that don't get light.
I also trimmed some of the top fanleaves that block the light from reaching into the middle.
The more light a bud site gets the bigger the bud...
I took a lot off so the plant will slow it's growth for a few day, while it heals... but then the resin production will take off.
You can see in the pics the smallest bit of resin starting on the top leaves.

Did a smell check of the resin and found that
Plant #1 smells of Sweet Mandarin Orange.
Plant #2 smells like a freshly washed Sweet Carrot right out of the garden.
Plant #3 smells like a average Sweet Round Orange.
I'm hoping plant #1 have big, dense, strong smoking, buds. Love that smell.

Things are going great in here. The tent has a great smell,... of sweet citrus.
Got the thermal camera out to show some not seen heat. The buds under the light are hot.
This is the last week of nutrient. I like to flush for the last 2 weeks.
So expect to see some yellowing of leaves, for the last 2 weeks.
I flush because the smoke tastes better if I do, than if I don't. It take less time to cure too, if I flush.

Then a couple of days of dark... Then harvest.
Getting some nice sweet smells now. Plant #1 smells like Mandarins.
Plant #2 smells more like Lemons now and Plant #3 smell of an orange
Should get 4 good flushes in before harvest, they need water today, which I'll do when I'm done here.

Everything is going good here. The plants have had 2 good watering's with just water, to use up that extra nutrient that is in the soil.
It's not enough food for the plants left in the soil, so they start pulling some of their sap from the fanleaves and the leaves go yellow.
The buds are sure bulking up now. They are twice as big as they were 2 weeks ago.
One more week of flowering. then a couple of days of dark and then harvest.

Hello. This is the harvest report for Lemon Mandarin by Fast Buds.
3 out of 3 seeds grew. The little seedling grew well to make good plants. I had no problems with them.
The resin started to flow around week 3 of flowering smelling like oranges and a lemon.
They started to pack on the weight after week 6, looking good.
The smoke has a bit of a kick to it - with Plant #2 being the strongest - with around 23% THC
Plant #1 tastes like a, not too sweet, sorta bland, mandarin orange, but yes I can taste it! Plant #2 Tastes like of slightly metallic lemon. Gets in the nose. Plant #3 tastes like an orange. Not a big sweet flavor but yes I can taste orange.
Yes... I would recommend this strain to a friend... It's got some strength and some decent citrus flavor and the buds are a good size.

These plants turned out good. Got lots of good sized buds. That are fairly strong and have a decent citrus flavor.
But the lower buds were mostly larf (light feathery buds) But every bud site that got good light made good sized, dense buds.
So I guess I should have trim up a bit better at week 3 of flowering for better light penetration on the lower bud sites. Oh Well... Who Knew?
450g from 3 plants is pretty good. I'm happy, but I was hoping for a bit bigger flavor... I'll keep looking.
