Awesome setup you've got there. I'm curious to see what you conjure up.

@Stony_German, oh yeah, I know that well. I've been in it since about 2002 and I also remember the Reg Grow with NDL very well. Back then, it was all about DIY. There was nothing available. If you walk through the grow shops today, there's everything for every purpose. My first Cooltube, for example, was also homemade. Hammered reflector, then had a buddy (metalworker) build side parts with hose connections, and then ran around for weeks trying to find someone who could provide me with custom-made heat-resistant glass. Those were the days... By 2005, I actually already had my first hydro system. Aquaristics was very helpful back then. Just the excuses every time you walked through the aquaristics shops and asked about stuff. They always wanted to know what kind of tank, what kind of fish, etc.

@HydroLab-Germany, Oh man, that gives me a nostalgic feeling. And I don't even want to start about getting seeds and the paranoia that they might be delivered by the cops 😆. I did have a good mentor, R.I.P., but those three grow bibles were the only sources of information. Nowadays, you just go online, YouTube, and so much more. Growers today have no idea how hard it all was back then. Like you said, just getting the growing supplies. In 1997 when I started, you could still buy seeds in Germany, but after two years, that was over too.

@Stony_German, Joppa....I got my first seeds back then from a grow shop. It was some kind of hybrid between Northern Lights and White Widow. They were pretty cool, but my skills were terrible. I did the whole grow in 2L pots. 😕 Then I stumbled upon Hanfburg online. At that time, it was THE forum for German-speaking growers. I made connections there with people in the area. I also got cuttings from them quite often. Super convenient, because there were only regs and cuttings basically changed the game. And a mother to "select"....Ha....the plant was female, selection done. Phenotype? What's that....new nutrients? 😆

how awesome :D ! I just see you have exactly the same chiller :D ! much love goes out I’ll probably get the Guardian as well. right now I only have temp monitoring, the rest I have to do by hand.. :D

@RabbitHole, I can only recommend the Guardian. It's so incredibly comfortable with the constant monitoring. And you can even connect the whole thing to Home Assistant or another home automation system. I'm now building an automatic dosing pump that will also automatically add PH+ or PH- when the pH is too high or too low.

@HydroLab-Germany, sounds really great, I'll definitely keep an eye on you :) ! Unfortunately, I'm the kind of person who always has to do something ^^ I would love to get it for monitoring, it must be really nice to just be able to read it =)

@RabbitHole, yeah, we do it exactly like that. I can never just leave everything as it is. I always need something to develop and tinker with.
