HillNSage Time for my first autoflowers! This grow is a bit of a leftover project: I got two seeds from a friend and one as a free sample at Mary Jane Berlin. So I did not choose any of the strains myself, but it felt like a waste not to give them a chance. Here we go; Fresh Candy, Green Crack and G14! I started germination with the paper towel method. I used my growlight for warmth hehe. My paper towels were no good: the inside, where the seeds were, completely dried out while the outside was still wet. I re-moistened them and the Green Crack popped, but the other two showed no movement at all. I made the towels wetter first, but put both seeds into glasses of tapwater in the end. That worked, cause they both popped the next day! 100% germination 😀

HillNSage Green Crack came up two days after planting. Fresh Candy and G14 followed the next day, though G14 only just broke the surface. I removed the domes and set the humidifier to 70%. Over the weekend the humidifier ran empty while I was away, so humidity dropped to 30%, which I didn’t think possible here. Two days later (probably one day late) I moved them into their final 11L fabric pots. I started them on 24 hours of light, but switched to 20/4 now. Just testing if the temperature stays high enough during the dark period, otherwise I'll switch back to 24/0.

HillNSage It was NOT warm enough without the light on. At one point it was only 13 degrees in the tent, which is obviously way too cold. I was not home at the moment, so only thing I could do was swich back to 24 hours light and turn it up to 50%. When I got home the next day, I changed my exhaust so it vents inside my lungroom. That way I can just keep everything closed while it's freezing outside. This works really well. It is now 25 degrees during the day and 19 during the night (I swiched back to 20/4 again haha). Did one watering this week, with the recommended amounts of nutrients. Just gave a bit too much water, as the pots aren't drying out quickly enough I think. We'll see. I kinda forgot to take any pictures. These are from the beginning of the week, but they're bigger now!

HillNSage In the end it took 9 days before I could water again, so this time I gave a bit less. I also started some light LST. At first only on the Fresh Candy since it was growing the fastest (compared to 2 fastbuds haha), but eventually I did all three because they all look really healthy now. I'm removing new fan leaves so the side branches underneath can develop properly. It seems to be working well so far, but we'll see how it turns out!

HillNSage I watered twice this week: once with a small amount of plain water (I was going away and they needed it) and once with base-nutrients only. All three plants have grown steadily, gaining 4, 5 and 6 cm over the past week. Fresh Candy is looking the healthiest of with nothing notable to complain about. G14 is showing a lighter, yellowish color. Green Crack remains small and bushy, but fine other than that. Throughout the week I removed the newest fan leaves to give the lower branches more light exposure and applied LST to encourage the side branches to grow outward. From now I'll try and leave them to grow on their own, only some light leaf-tucking when needed. Especially the Green Crack won’t get any extra stress going forward.
