Germination

Weedowmaker 18/11 Started germinating 5 Girl Scout Cookies seeds from Barney's Farm to grow 4 plants in 11L pots in a 80x80x180 box. Hydrated 4 blocks of compressed coconut fiber with tap water (well) with a stabilized pH of 6, from which I took 5 small pots for germination. Under the box, I placed a heating mat to maintain the temperature around 22/23 degrees. I only turned on the light to maintain the temperature and to prevent it from getting too high once they germinate. If all 5 germinate, I would make one a bonsai. 23/11 Germinated 4 seeds needed for the grow in the box, the last seed intended for the bonsai seems to be coming up. Prepared the mix (70% coconut; 20% expanded perlite; 10% expanded clay)

Weedowmaker On 26/11, I transplanted the 4 seedlings into 11L fabric pots. I then watered with 1L per plant enriched with nutrients, which was enough for 3 days. After that, watering will become daily; I was thinking of creating an automated irrigation system.

Weedowmaker This week, the second set of leaves has sprouted regularly without deficiencies or excesses. I watered with 1 liter per pot and will start doing it every other day.

Weedowmaker The plants responded well to the transplant and are growing nicely; you can already see the sprout of the third set of leaves. Now I'm watering once every 2 or 3 days. I replaced the 100w lamp with 2 at 150w for a total of 300w, which I'll use until the end of the cycle. I increased the speed of the cooling fan for the lamps because the temperature was rising to 27 degrees. Now I'll run the extractor intermittently for 15/30 minutes during the dark hours to see if the temperature doesn't drop to 16 degrees like it has been these days.

Weedowmaker This week the plants have grown a lot, now they have a thicker stem and the side branches are developing very well. I did topping after the 5th internode and removed the first two lower levels. This way I kept three main levels that I bent, distributing their direction along the perimeter of the pot. I believe I will keep the plants in the vegetative stage for another week or 2 before doing the switch and sending them into flowering.

Weedowmaker This week I cut the first internodes of each main branch and reshaped the curve to widen the canopies. Starting next week, I will change the light-dark cycle to send them into flowering.

I'm interested in how this grow turns out. I saw another diary on the Barneys GSC, and it looks very different than the original.
