5/5/2019: Planted the seeds on 5/5/2019. They are on a heatmat set to 74F degrees. Last time this took 3-4 days for them to pop, but these are different strains and a different grower. I squeezed 3 plants into my small 0.5m/sq tent last time, so I'm hoping I can get away with 4 this time. I have a bunch of seeds from a Seedsman promotion, and I figured I might as well go big. :D 5/17/2019: Ugh. Only 1 of the 6 seeds looks promising. I believe I may have drowned, or buried the others too deep. I've dug around in all the pods and they all germinated so it wasn't that. I'm trying to salvage what is still there, but it does not look promising. I went to my local grow store today. They had just ran out of Fox Farm's Ocean Forest soil, so I asked for a recommendation and am giving Nectar For the Gods #4 a try on 3 of the 4 plants. The 4th one is of the Ocean Forest I had left from the last grow. Since I'm too impatient for this (Ha!), I decided to plant another seed: Durban Poison from New420Guy. This time I sowed it directly into the soil.

Only the Gelat.OG made it from the initial planting in Jiffy pods. I thus started new seeds, but sewed them directly into soil. So far, I've had 100% success planting directly into soil, and about 16% planting in Jiffy pods... I will never use Jiffy pods again. Here's the breakdown of when I planted each seed, and when it popped up as a seedling, since they're all on different schedules: Gelat.OG: planted 5/5/2019, sprouted 5/16/19 Durban Poison: planted 5/17/2019, sprouted 5/21/19 Girl Scout Crack: planted 5/20/2019, sprouted 5/25/19 Red Diesel: planted 5/28/2019, sprouted 6/1/19 I'm going to consider this week 2, although for some of the plants it's really week 3 or 4.

Is the Durban Poison doing alright? The leaves are quite dark compared to the other varieties. My guess it's either a difference in the variety, or a nutrient issues.

I think it will be fine. Especially when the plants are young like that they can be impacted differently by relatively small stuff. I'd check to ensure that whatever you're watering with is pH'd properly to make sure nothing is getting locked out. If everything is looking solid with your pH it's likely just some growing pains for the Durban. I'd expect that it grows out of it within a week or so and stabilizes.

For the plants each being ~1 week apart, the 3 largest plants are looking pretty similar in size. The oldest (Gelat.OG) is by far the biggest, with Girl Scout Crack and Durban Poison in close second. In last place, but also the youngest, is Red Diesel. So far I've only given them pH 6.5 water, but I am using super soil. I'll start introducing Fox Farm trio to them next week, but I'll probably hold off on giving it to the Red Diesel for a couple more weeks so it can catch up. Overall I'm very happy with their size and speed of growth. They seem to be growing faster this time around than my first grow... or maybe it's because I'm not as impatient. Haha.

Plants are doing great! I'm very happy with them. I went to check on them after not looking at them for a couple days and they exploded. I ended up doing LST and FIM on them 6/23/19. They've responded very well so far. I introduced 1/2 round of fertilizers to them on 6/22/19 and will step it up if they still look good next feeding.

The plants are going to out grow my tent, so I have flipped them to 12/12 on 6/30/19. I also FIMed and LSTed the Red Diesel at the same time.

These are getting big! Gelat.OG (front left): The first one to germinate out of the 4 is still one of the biggest. It's starting to venture to the left, filling up empty space in the tent. The fan leaves seem smaller on this plant than the other, providing nice light penetration to the rest of the plant. Red Diesel (front right): This plant is is starting to catch up, but it's short. It is 2 weeks behind the rest, but I've got faith it'll explode soon enough. Green Crack (back left): has the most bud sights, and is overall being a rockstar. It seems to be responding the best to FIM, as it has shot off many other branches/nodes that all have flowering spots developing. Durban Poison (back right): When I did LST this was by far the biggest, but now everything is just jungle size. The Durban Poison is the most "airy" (possibly due to it being 100% Sativa). I must have got some fertilizer on one or two of the lower leaves, since it looks spotty. Whoops.

7/12/2019 - I went to check on these today and the Durban Poison was trying to hog all the light with its branches. I installed my SCROG net and did some LST. I accidentally snapped one of the branches of the Gelato.OG, but it isn't major so I tapped it up. I will defoliate within the next few days.

Defoliated on 7/21/2019 after a weekend away. The plants were getting too bushy, and I wanted better light penetration. I'm very happy with the amount of bud sights on all of the plants. 7/23/2019 - Plants bounced back and have already started bulking up their bud sights. They're still stretching so I bent them under the SCROG and tied a couple long branches down. Gave them another feeding today to help with their recovery. Very happy with the results.

8/8/2019 - In just the past few days these have started to gain a lot of bulk. For whatever reason the Girl Scout Crack (back left) has some pretty light colored leaves, especially a large fan leaf at the base. I'm assuming it's a nutrient deficiency of sorts, but with only a few weeks left of flowering I'm not too worried. 8/13/2019 - tricomes are mostly clear. My calendar says harvest is around 9/10/2019.

8/18/2019 Gelat.OG (front left): is the biggest looking plant with the greatest number of bud sights. It is also a beautiful dark green. Girl Scout Crack (back left): This looks to be the second greatest number of bud sights. They're nice in size, just like the Gelat.OG. Red Diesel (front right): This plant is filled with a ton of popcorn buds, but does not contain any impressive bud sights. :( Durban Poison (back right): has many bug sights, but they are quite airy and lanky. It reminds me of the Somango XXL in my last grow which still produced 1oz in the end. Maybe this is just a Sativa thing?

These plants are looking great! I'm very happy with all the plants except for the Red Diesel. It has tiny little buds. I hope it catches up in the next couple weeks. All the plants are sparkly with trichomes, but still have time to go since most of the trichomes are clear and/or milky. My calendar has these finishing up around 9/10/2019, but instincts say they may need another week or two.

The Gelat.OG is one sexy beast! The leaves and flowers are starting to change colors, and they look wonderful. The Durban Poison is bulking up, especially along the main cola. What looked like an airy plant at the start is starting to gain some weight. Girl Scout Crack doesn't seem to have a ton of colas, but what it does have are little fatties. Red Diesel has gained a little bit of weight from last week, but the flowers are small. I'm not expecting a high yield from this plant. Trichomes are now mostly milky, but I do not see any amber on any of the plants. I may feed it one more time this week, and then water the rest of the time until harvest. My calendar says these should be wrapping up on 9/10/2019. 9/3/2019 - The Gelat.OG has a few amber trichomes, but the rest are not ready. Waiting for more to develop those. It shouldn't be much longer.

According to my calendar, this is the final week of flowering. It's possible it may need to go another week. I'll be keeping an eye on the trichomes for a little more amber appearing on all of the plants, and then throw them into a dark cycle for 3 days. Once that's done, I'll harvest and dry. 10/10/2019 - Durban Poison is the only one with no amber trichomes, but they are milky. I've decided to turn the lights off for 3 days of darkness. Will chop on Friday (10/13/2019).

My calendar says these should be done on 9/10/2019 (in 4 days). Do they look like they're ready to harvest, or will they need more than 4 days? It may help to add that I am color blind, so seeing the amber colors of the trichomes is very difficult for me. Any help would be great!

Hi, nice plants.👍 I would say that sometimes it takes longer than planned, plants are ready when they are ready so don't panic if you need one more week. Anyway from the closer pics of the buds I can see few trichomes amber and all of them are just milky even though pistils are brown. Give them a week and check again if you want full thc. I personally like to harvest before amber shows to have a less couch locking weed (but that's just me) Good job anyway that some killer weed you have there 👍✌️

9/12/2019 - Harvested after 3 days of darkness. They smell great with lots of trichomes, but overall there isn't a giant return. We'll see once they are dried. :) Top Left: Girl Scout Crack Top Right: Gelat.OG Bottom Left: Red Diesel Bottom Right: Durban Poison
