@GrowBeforeHoe,
That'd mostly be for silica, wouldn't it? So you could technically use something like bamboo too. Or diatomaceous earth, or even something like basalt (since it has a lot of silica).
@GrowBeforeHoe,
Prevent chances of mold (from my experience, stopping mildew is a priority to avoid rot) with dual use foliar spray (feed+fungicide) with some combination of stuff, including potassium (bi)carbonate, epsom salts, maybe (taking wild guesses here) molasses, compost teas, lemon juice or something similar and sodium bicarb if you're REALLY worried. Some people say milk works, I dunno.
Even in flowering, especially if it gets bad, though I'd be more careful with anything but potassium (bi)carb and maybe a bit of epsom salts later in flowering.
Mildew seems to mostly occur with high density/moisture retention, in stressful conditions, air moisture high and fairly low temperatures and poor sunlight. But it can also occur in high heat/drought-like conditions when the plant has low root watering.
Looking really good.
Kinda hard to tell, but are those pots lowered into the ground or just nice and wide? I'd prefer about 2:1 width to depth ratio for pots, used 1:2 (same as most typical pots, only option at the time) and I think it's less than ideal.
Anyway, keep it up!
@HonneyHouse,
Some types of ants are okay, but yeah, they do like to farm gnats, scales, aphids, etc. Any reason why you don't just put it straight in soil?
Asking because I grew plants in 20l pots(deep but not very wide, like typical pots) and a bunch in soil with similar spacing, maybe slightly more, to yours (about 60cm between plants, dense clay base). For marijuana horizontal roots are far more important than vertical in most cases, so the ones in actual soil, even with only 60cm space and limited depth because of clay/rock vs 20l pots are significantly better/larger.
@@Ssomeguy, Hey! What'sup! Yes, I dig a hole into the ground and hide part of the bucket inside the freshy soil. I also cover everything with heavy mulch, so the sun doesnt dry the plants too quick.
I used for most of them 20L Textile buckets, so the roots come out from the bottom, they love it! I put some nutrients even on the bottom of the buckets...
I use also antTraps. So they wont bother...
Hi! Nice choice of strain, im currently growing the Gorilla Girl strain in organic living soil to get maximum taste out of my flower. What do you think of growing this strain so far? Has it been without problems or have you encountered some issues with the strain in particular?
Anyway, have a great day and happy growing. 😎 🌱
