These were clones that I took off of a mother plant, 8 in total (this pic is taken about 3 weeks after rooting and going in 16oz. red cups). The mother plant was Russian Petrol (White Russian x Grapefruit Diesel) which is the result of an cross-pollination in a previous garden. I was extremely familiar with the Grapefruit Diesel mother as it had been a staple of a previous garden but I was excited to see what the White Russian male would bring to the table. The mother plant these cuts were taken from displayed very vigorous growth and responded well to topping so I was hoping that would translate well into flower.

Repotted into 3 gallons to prepare for flower cycle. Planning on flipping the lights immediately after they stabilize.

Flipped the lights to 12/12 flower cycle. They seemed to stabilize quickly after the transplant so I'm hoping they won't be too stressed heading into flower. Doing a watering schedule of FEED - FEED - FLUSH (Straight 6.3 pH'd water)

Understandably that was pretty shitty of me to not log anything in the CRUCIAL 1-3 week flower period, I definitely regret not keeping better records of that period. That said, the feeding regiment was much like it is in week 4 with lower ratios. Overall these plants are VIGOROUS, they seem to drink water and eat nutrients to no end, and haven't had any problem with anything I've thrown at them. They seem to be really packing on the weight and I'm likely going to need to stake them in the near future. Unfortunately the vigor comes at a price of watering each day, which for plants that size in 3 gals can be very time consuming, but such is the growing life, already committed at this point! They are really taking off now! Absolutely chunky spear colas which luckily stopped stretching before they hit the light, it was a close one (I'd like to focus on keeping plants smaller and moving quicker from veg to flower in the future to prevent this). Overall I'm really pleased with the growth of this strain/pheno, it can absolutely hang with the production of any plant I've ever grown however these are some leafy girls and it definitely looks like a forest in there, I suspect trimming is going to be a nightmare with this run. With that much vigor and bud growth I'll take excessive leaves any day. Doing a watering schedule of FEED - FEED - FLUSH (Straight 6.3 pH'd water)

Started to notice the first of the purple coloring creeping in (likely from the Grapefruit Diesel mother as it was VERY purple). I have quite a lot of air cooling my reflector so the cola tops are just fine, but I wanted to take some photos of the mid to upper canopy buds as they are really starting to shine in coloring and trichome production. It seems like the plants that are getting directly blasted by the LEDs are more prone to turning purple which is definitely interesting. Overall they continue their chunkiness and vigorous growth, I've yet to run into a deficiency/imbalance/nute burn, so these plants have been a dream to run. All systems steady, the plants continue to plow ahead without any issue or care in the world. Seeing some of them fade so early makes me think they could use a bit more nitrogen in the early parts of flower but the overall bud structure doesn't have me concerned to much about the impact of that. The colors are really outta this world it's like fall with yellows and purples and greens, the color that the Grapefruit Diesel brings to the cross just really makes it awesome. I think overall the spear like colas is more leaning towards the White Russian as none of the phenos of Grapefruit Diesel we ran ever took on quite such a beastly frame. Truckin' into week 8 with some night shots. Finally got smart and decided to get some photos 10 mins before lights on rather than in the early stages while the HPS is warming up (I can't believe it took me this long to figure that out). That said, it resulted in some SUPER sweet plant shots. I'm absolutely stoked on how they're coming along with both parents showing a lot of traits in this pheno. The giant spear/grenade bud structure is unlike anything I've seen in the Grapefruit Diesel so I'm inclined to believe it leans hard towards the White Russian lineage for that. Finishing off the grow I gave them a 2 week 'flush' with 2 ml/gal molasses for the first week and then straight pH'd water for the 2nd week. During this period the plants were REALLY throwing off some intense colors so I tried my best to capture it, but its hard to do the fade/purple combo on these ladies justice. Overall even with the stakes stability was a problem as most of the lower branches keeled over and the tops started bending right above their zip-tie points. This definitely is a pheno that requires significant staking, I was not prepared! The ladies still rewarded me with mountainous colas that filled out nicely for how leafy and concerned I was about trimming earlier on in flower.

Happy Harvest Day!

Overall the yield was pretty friggin' gnarly. The fade/green/purples colors when harvested have given the buds an interesting bag appeal, but the trichome covering is more than enough to satisfy. Smokes smooth and easy, kind of tastes like Trix cereal or cereal marshmallows. The high is pretty immediate, definitely soaring at first but after the first 10 minutes releases back into a more manageable high that isn't too heavy, perfect afternoon smoke for sure. As with anything, too much will put you out for the nap. The immediate soaring high kinda leads me to believe I pulled them early, but I had to go out of town and needed to pull and dry them without worrying about mold, I'd love to see what the high on this pheno would be with another 1-2 weeks added.

Overall a fantastic plant to grow out. Very high yielder and it was awesome to see the Grapefruit Diesel (in some form) back in the garden again, and to really get to see what that White Russian male that pollinated it was capable of. As if the yield wasn't satisfying enough watching these plants fade was really enjoyable.
