505 Headbanger in Autopot + Coco

punktkomma For the first time ever, I had a seed that didn’t germinate. 😐 So I had to start a second Headbanger seed. I can finally see the sprout now and will start counting days from today 👍 try to count the days for the whole tent, not for individual plants, otherwise you’ll go a bit crazy haha. Since the Granite Haze is already around day 2, I’m starting a bit early for the 505 and just going with a good average. Hope so 😀

punktkomma The 505 Headbanger is still a bit behind at this point, but that’s to be expected due to the later germination. She's developing well so far and looks healthy. Right now the light is set to around 350 PPFD at 23 hours, which is already fairly intense, so I’ve increased the EC to about 1.6-1.7. The Granite Haze feels like it could handle even more pushing, but I don’t want to completely kill the Headbanger 😄 I think finding the right balance in this run is going to be pretty interesting haha EC1.7 | PH5.6-5.8 | VPD 0.6-0.9 | DLI 25-28

punktkomma WEEK 3 | DAY 18 The Headbanger is definitely the more sensitive one in this run and is kind of setting the limits right now. She’s sharing the tent with a very aggressive Granite Haze, which makes things a bit tricky 😅 Because the Granite Haze is extremely hungry for both light and nutrients, I’m currently running a fairly high setup at EC 1.8–1.9 and around DLI 35. That’s already pushing the Headbanger a bit too hard. She started showing clear signs of too much light, so I raised the Granite Haze by about 25 cm to take some pressure off the Headbanger. I’m watching her closely and will see how she adapts over the next days. This run might end up being a balancing act between keeping the Headbanger happy while not holding the Granite Haze back too much… PH5.7 | EC1.8 | DLI24 | VPD0.8-1

punktkomma WEEK 4 | DAY 24 The 505 Headbanger is still a bit behind and seems to be the limiting factor right now. She’s not able to handle much more than EC 1.7–1.8 at the moment, so I can’t really push the feed any harder. Normally I don’t touch autoflowers at all until after the stretch, but this time I tried something different. Because the side branches weren’t really coming through due to the heavier feeding, I removed some of the big fan leaves that were shading them. 👻 I think things are moving in the right direction now. All the new growth looks fresh and healthy. Hopefully she finally starts taking off, haha 😛😎 PH5.7 | EC1.7 | DLI35 | VPD0.9-1

punktkomma WEEK 5 | DAY 31 The Headbanger has recovered and is developing pretty well now. She’s not in flower yet, so I guess I haven’t screwed it up so far, haha. I was actually hoping she would stay a bit slimmer since the Granite Haze is getting fucking huge. But we’ll see how it goes 🙂 PH5.5 | EC1.9 | DLI55 | VPD0.9-1

Haha, I actually thought she might stay a bit slimmer and stretch to the same height, but I guess not💀👽 She’s finally gained some height over the last few days though, and I think she’s transitioning into flower now 😎 She's still being shaded a bit by the gigantic Granite Haze, but I think that’s actually a good thing since she’s been a little more sensitive 😃 She’s handling the nutrients quite well...no signs of burn so far PH5.7 | EC1.9 | DLI35 | VPD0.9-1

punktkomma WEEK 7 | DAY 44 The Headbanger is stretching pretty hard now and hopefully she keeps going a bit longer. 😅 Over the last 8 days she’s basically doubled in height. She’s slowly starting to smell too, but it’s not very defined yet 😁 Her branches are a bit lanky and soft... 👹 maybe because they haven’t been getting much airflow down there haha. punktkomma WEEK 8 | DAY 51 The 505 Headbanger stretched quite a bit over the last week and has now caught up to the Granite Haze in height. Her branches are still pretty thin, but I feel like it’s been improving since she’s been getting more airflow and I did a bit of defoliation She’s definitely not going to finish within 80 days haha, but we’ll see. As for the smell, I can’t really say much right now... the Granite Haze is so strong that nothing else is coming through. 😄 PH5.8 | EC2 | DLI65 | VPD0.9-1.1

punktkomma WEEK 9 | DAY 58 The 505 Headbanger is still moving along steadily. She’s clearly more sensitive when it comes to nutrients, so dialing things back now should actually play in her favor. I’ve started noticing some early signs of salt buildup in the pots, and since the Headbanger was always a bit sensitive to heavier feeding, I’m adjusting things in her favor now. From the next watering on, I’ll completely remove CalMag, reduce the A/B base nutrients, and slowly phase out the PK. The goal is to bring EC down into the 1.5–1.6 range and see if that helps her finish strong without stressing her further. punktkomma WEEK 11 | DAY 72 I forgot to post an update last week, but honestly it doesn’t matter much since not a lot happened anyway. She’s just doing her thing and slowly growing along. 👻 The bud structure is unfortunately pretty underwhelming so far, and the smell… well, I’d describe it as slightly sour cucumber water or something like that. No idea how Sour Diesel is supposed to smell, but this stuff just smells kinda weird haha 💩💀 She’ll probably still need quite some time. So far I’m not very impressed with the 505, but I hope the smoke turns out good, otherwise this one was just kinda disappointing. PH 6 | EC 1.5 | DLI 70 | VPD 1.0–1.3

punktkomma WEEK 12 | DAY 79 Since I partially harvested the Granite Haze a few days ago, I’ve been able to give the Headbanger a bit more space and dial the light down slightly. I’m hoping that helps to improve the bud structure a bit. I mean, the tops are long and chunky, but not very dense so far. 👽 The smell has also shifted... the lemony, chemical cleaner type scent is starting to dominate over that weird cucumber water note, so I hope it keeps going in that direction. 😇😊 I think I’ll give her another 14 days max 💀👽 PH 6 | EC 1.5 | DLI 88 | VPD 1.0–1.3

punktkomma I originally planned to harvest the 505 this month, but since the Granite Haze took three rounds, my drying box is full again for the next week 💀👽😍 While taking some pictures for the diary today, I noticed that the Headbanger has actually put on quite a bit of mass over the last few days and is looking more pretty overall. Still a bit lanky and the buds aren’t super dense yet, but visually she’s definitely improving 👿😎 The smell is still pretty subtle, kind of lemony/chemical. Maybe it’s actually a good thing to let her go for another week haha

punktkomma The Headbanger was harvested today on day 92 and yielded 971g wet. I don’t expect a huge dry yield though since the buds are pretty fluffy. Not a big deal either way, I only keep around 50g for myself and the rest gets tossed anyway. She did turn out quite nice in the last few days though, especially with the fade 👽😻 Also covered in a ton of big, sandy trichomes, so I’m hoping she smokes well enough to make me forget how much she annoyed me during the grow haha. Some of the lower buds even got a bit confused from all the repositioning during the wobbly arms 😄 and basically developed 360° foxtailing... they didn’t really know which way was up anymore or something I’ll update after drying. See you soon 😇😊 Update: Yeah, I’m only keeping 3-4 buds. Could be I got a bad bad pheno, or maybe it just suffered from being shaded... either way, the quality isn’t really there. The terps remind me a bit of the stuff from those EU GMP medical farms. The effect is definitely strong, but still not really my kind of smoke.
