IndeKast 2x Royal Gorilla automatic Start germination 5/5/2019 Windowsill 15:30h ā˜€ļø Biobizz lightmix Pot size 1litre Tapwater pH7 After 3 days germination I planted them in 1 litre pots. It's better to start autoflowers in their final pots, but to save some space I put them in a 1 litre pot. I will carefully repot them after 2 weeks without too much stress I hope. 5 days after they are little seedlings. One of the Gorilla's having troubles to loose her seedcover. The first 2/3 weeks they will be placed on the windowsill. It's just too cold outside. In my previous diary I used LED at nights, and it turns out pretty good. With this contest it's not allowed I guess, but the days are long enough to grow without LED. So that's ok. We'll see how this grow develops. I removed the cover manually. There's still some green inside the cover. I hope she can handle the damage šŸ™šŸ¼ No, she died. Germinating a new one. 13-5

The weather forecast is pretty good this weekend, so I placed them outside. Day 26 #2 repot

Despite there was not much sun, they have grown a lot last week. #2 is one week behind. Pretty happy about it. I've decided not to train them and just let them grow like a tree. I want to keep it simple and see how they develop.

Hey! I am a first time grower, but chopping her, why? The pistels are not red/brown and it seems like she could grow a bit thicker. Allso, most leaves seem still very green. Did you check the trichomes? Good luck! Just my 2 cents. šŸ‘
IndeKast
IndeKast commented7y ago
@StealthyDutchGuy, yes I checked the trichomes. Most of them were wite, some amber...
StealthyDutchGuy
StealthyDutchGuy commented7y ago
@IndeKast,Heej Indecloset. Very interesting. Thanks for the reply. So the pistels don't always indicate when the plant is ready for harvest. I have a lot to learn. Good luck and 'knipse'! šŸ˜‰ Looking forewards to the smoke/vape report! šŸ‘

I liked the RQS strain that I grew. Good luck! I had some issues with one of my seedlings not being able to shed its covering. It bounced back in a big way. Yours doesn't look like it had any effect on growth.

Quexos commented7y ago
@IndeKast, That looks like what the inside of my seed casing looked like. I think some of the cotyledon was left inside the seed case. I read afterwards that it could be due to planting too shallow. Something good to know. She will be fine! My grow is in week 3 and the seedling that was damaged shows zero negative affects.

IndeKast commented7y ago
@Quexos, yes I think I planted too shallow indeed. Trying a new one. šŸ‘šŸ¼

Looks healthy, but a little advice.. It's best to plant autos directly in the big pot. The thing is, they get a bit stressed with repotting and build up a little delay because of it. Hope you don't think I'm being a know-it-all now šŸ˜‹
StealthyDutchGuy
StealthyDutchGuy commented7y ago
@GrowDutch, Aha, okay. How interesting that you say it's genetic whether or not popcorn buds come. In a possible next round, I’m going to look into 'topping'. Seems much nicer that only big buds come. Haha, on the other hand, I just harvested my NL auto yesterday. These tops seem a bit sturdier/denser/heavier than the first harvest. But still, I would top next time.... :-)

GrowDutch commented7y ago
@StealthyDutchGuy, that stealing or 'lollipopping' is super effective! Just make sure to do it at the right time, meaning don't wait too long to remove the popcorn but also don't do it too early because then some will still grow back. The most important thing is to have fun with it and consider everything as a wise lesson šŸ˜‰ Let me know if I can help you with anything šŸ‘ŒšŸ»šŸ‘šŸ»

@GrowDutch, O.k. Thank you for your offer! It really is a fun learning journey, growing herbs :-) Haha, but it does take a lot more time than I thought. There's also a lot to figure out/read/uncertainty which makes it more challenging. Because of that, I have more respect for the cannabis growers. šŸ‘
