PlantsMcBulge 3 days in to week 1. We're doing Terp Farmz - Black Zushi, with Anesia Seeds; Strawberry Pop Rocks and White Runtz. Big fan of the sunset sherbet lineage. I'm doing another Black Zushi at the moment that's in week 5 of flower and the aroma when you rub the leaves is very purple grape like and tutti frutti or fruit salad smelling, it had some interesting mutations to it that caused some of the leaves to appear as though they had some kind of mosaic virus, the Zushi 2 in this setup is beginning with similar odd deformities that i'll put in the next post. Not great photos, only uploading this as found I'd taken photos because of the condensation on the cup. I'd started them in paper towels and water, then into Root riots that were soaked in sensi coco a+b at 1ml/L and katana roots at 5ml/L, left in a small propagator with heated bottom, then were planted in to the coco soaked with the nutrient list posted above, minus the orca and king crab, i used great white to powder the holes where i placed the root riots once they were showing roots.

PlantsMcBulge End of week 2. Had soaked them before going away for the xmas breaks, 2 of them were drier across the top because of the fans I'd had on. They've all had a nice drenching since, an clean some of that green film off the top haha. The anesia seeds seem a bit slower to kick off compared to the zushi 1 terp farmz anyway, then there's the zushi 2 that's already doing weird stuff. Just as I was setting them back after watering I thought I'll top Zushi 1 as it's already around 3-4 inches compared to the others sitting at 1-2.

PlantsMcBulge zushi 1 the bronzing on the leaves i think is from the roots growing out the bottom of the pot then drying out or sitting in runoff solution, hoping it should stabilise in a week or 2 when it gets larger or more roots within the coco to offset the ones growing out the bottom zushi 2 just muting out cause of the genetics or something, will see how it goes, if it doesn't start growing out some decent leaf surface i might cut it, but we'll see yet. I dont use orca/king crab with biosys at the same time, normally, i just swap them out depending how i feel, whether i can be bothered opening 2 bottles, or one sachet. i do similar with the amino treatment and vitalize, can i be bothered getting the cap off amino, or shall i just stick with vitalize. Height list hasn't changed much, just been listing the tallest which was the black zushi 1 i topped last week, only probably shot up another half inch if that cause i probably measured it with the top new growth pointing up last time. thinking of taking a clone of the runtz or zushi later.... not sure maybe just start a new one as not a fan of the leaf shapes on these, i thought the white runtz at first might have the leaf shape i like, the chunky wider ones, but the gaps between the fingers starting to grow, will see.

PlantsMcBulge Had been leaving the exhaust fan off, so the tent humidity didnt drop too low, as have a dehumidifer outside and another small tent thats about to harvest, started using the fan now though cause the temps swings are getting crazy, so now instead of having crazy temp swings, my humidity is way too low and temps still almost pushing too high, especially for that vpd optimizing which im nowhere near.

PlantsMcBulge the black zushi 1... its flowering on 18/6... i think its really pushing some meant to be dormant auto genetics... Black zushi 2 still in veg. All the zushi seeds i popped so far have had odd mutations.. so i think its more a genetics thing rather than an auto slipped into a packet of photoperiod seeds, i could be wrong, who knows. I've just changed the nutrients im feeding zushi 1 but can't really be bothered uploading a separate flower week just for it, not sure if keeping that yet. It's just been given advanced nutrients sensi coco bloom a+B at 2.5ml/L, big bud 2ml/L, sumo active boost 2 ml/L, roots excel gold 0.3ml/L. Put the big bud in as thought maybe starting these flower nutrients late, wasn't too sure if it was autoing at first, thought maybe its just doing some weird ass thing like all these zushis have done. Also i may just wait till the white runtz gets bigger, take some clones, flower these 3/4 immediately, then start a new run with clones of the white runtz. Wasn't too sure which to clone or whether to pop a new one and try phenohunt with the few seeds i have, figured, be lucky if i get some major 5 stars as i dont have that many seeds, so just going to clone white runtz with it being closer to the flavours/lineage im keen on. Temperatures and humidity a pain to control right now having to deal with these in veg and another grow about to harvest.. maybe i will get a mini humidifier for future, got a dehumidifier. had some big temp swings with lights on an off too 💀 think we will see it through, once the others come down, i can better stabilise the humidity i think. Oh also started another black zushi, small in the background under a plastic dome.

PlantsMcBulge black zushi 1 definitely autoflowering, giving it bloom a+b 2.5ml/L, big bud 2ml/L, roots excel gold 0.3ml/L, vitalize 0.1ml/L. Not sure if I'll keep it going yet, might just bin it, literally slapped a metal grill on top of it in the meantime to bend the stems out from the centre a bit late, really couldn't be bothered doing a proper lst job. Probably going to take clones of the white runtz or pop rocks this week. Oh and the lighting, ive been flipping the dimmer between 50-75% at the moment.. should have really kept track of that in the earlier weeks.

PlantsMcBulge flipping to 12/12 today, the black zushi 2 starting to go light green at the flowering sites i think it might do some of that autoflower stuff that zushi 1 did soon, except 2-3 weeks later - i dunno if this is down to the genetics and encouraged by the small pots im using. I am still going to continue feeding the rest for veg until i see pistils. Ive moved them from the 60x60cm tent to an 80x80cm one, so the light has also changed from marshydro ts1000 150w to a migro aray 3 250w. Im using this at around 60%, which reminds me. Just turned it back up from 20% ha oops. they got a bit more space now. The vivosun aerowave fans are replaced with some generic room cooling tower fan. annoying to find the perfect fans.. the ones i've had that grip the side, like black orchid or secret jardin, monkey or whatever, along with a whole loada generic ones, always die out sooner than expected, the motor for oscillating usually packs in. Tower fans have lasted me the longest. And when i've had more space a RAM eco spinning louvre one was my goto, that still works, but too big. I might get some more of these vivosuns, or the larger variation one. Think i saw someone just using 4 cheap generic ones that dont turn, but had one hooked upside down in each corner of their tent which seemed like a smart idea so may do that late. Defoliation... have been taking bits off. mainly the zushi that started flowering, removed some center colas and bud sites for better air flow, plus not really bothered about this auto, its just here now so might as well run it. I think the others ill defoliate more once they're mid stretch in flower and i can better see whats worth keeping. ah, the clones, also took some backups in case either of these flower in a way i like - easy, stacked. i kinda bodged it taking some cuttings that look kinda immature, especially a strawberry pop rocks one you can see at 90 degrees. they were put in root riots that were pre soaked in grow a+b, roots excel, superthrive. dipped the cuttings in clonex then into the root riot. Currently sitting in heated propagator with marshydro at 25 %.

I recommend using X-Seed. It's worked well for me; all my seeds germinated in a couple of days. Forget about the deformed one and remove it; it's better to plant a clone of another variety. My advice is to transplant them into Jiffy pellets once the seedlings emerge, and then into 0.7L pots or directly into pots using only Canna Terra or Top Crop Complete Mix. You'll have nutrients for a few weeks; just use decanted water with low EC (no additives). Then transplant into coco coir. This avoids over-saturating the soil, allows the seedlings to grow naturally in a good substrate, and saves you time. I also like to give them foliar feedings when they are seedlings, and once they are large enough and feeding, I use 0.2-0.4 ml of water.

@D4D3DHOMMIES, thanks for dropping in sir. Appreciate the info on x-seed, not come across this before so will keep in mind next time im at the store 😎. Of the 3 black zushi i've popped so far, 2 (including this one) had odd deformities in veg. The first one i did had a leaf structure like cabbage in veg, then looked like some fasciation in flower so figured i may as well give this one a shot just to see if it does anything funky later. Excuse the big red circles

@PlantsMcBulge, Sometimes it's normal. But if it doesn't grow, like what happened with a ZWISHER I had, I removed it. It's not worth wasting your time; it's better to germinate another seed or plant a cutting. It's faster and saves you time. There are also some videos on YouTube from Strain Show that demonstrate different germination methods and which ones are the fastest. X-Seed is a germination booster, so to speak. My seeds germinated in 2-3 days, usually 4-5 at most. I've actually used it to germinate 20 seeds or more, and it worked perfectly. I don't know if sometimes these deformed leaves are due to that or just genetics. But my plants are beautiful and strong, and sometimes one that isn't the best in appearance can be the best for phenohunting. My advice is to buy a Mars Hydro, AC, or Spiderfarmer grow tent; they only cost €135-€150 and come with lights, regulators, and a controller (and you can control everything from your phone). Just for making your clones and maintaining them! And if this happens to you, you can plant your clone. And Clonex is very, very good! It makes life much easier.
