S4nchi Starting the new year with my first ever indoor grow, yay. No idea how this will turn out. I guess I let the AI+ controller handle most of it, we'll see. Strain selection to inaugurate the tent was easy though. In terms of taste and effects, Psicodelicia ranks among my top 3 sativas. I've just never grown it outside since it's a photoperiodic strain and I was afraid of losing it to budrot in autumn.
Alright, let's go.Three seeds are kept in a shot glass with water for 18 hours, then transferred to Jiffy pots.

S4nchi Two of the three seeds sprouted within 2-3 days, the third one took a bit longer and is trailing behind. No big issue, since I actually planned for a two plant only grow anyways. A germination rate of 100% is still a very nice thing.
They got transferred into proper substrate as soon as they hit the plastic cover of the germination box, then into the tent they went.

S4nchi The girls are growing! At least the leaves are. The stems are still a bit thin, but Iβm not worried about that anymore. Iβll bury them a bit deeper when I transplant them. Probably in the upcoming days. Theyβre two weeks old now and just growing their third set of leaves.
In the larger fabric pots, the issue with low humidity should pretty much sort itself out as well. Iβll be using wick watering again, which Iβve had very good experiences with in the past. In the meantime, a wet towel serves the purpose. Kinda.
Oh, and a latecoming Psiquita has joined the crew too. I sowed her a week later than the other two as a backup. With proper light distance from the start, she's doing nicely. A 100% germination rate is always impressive. Iβm not sure yet if I keep the baby sister or not, but sheβs pretty cute π .

S4nchi Going into week 3, the Psiquitas were transplanted into 4 liter fabric pots and fed with homemade Aloe Vera juice to stimulate root growth. Three days later, we switched to wick bottom watering. Things will slow down for a few days as the roots adapt to the new situation but they do look nice and healthy so far. The fourth pair of true leaves are already being formed. AI+ was set to vegetative growth. Humidity is now dialed in at a constant 50%. Illumination at 40%.

S4nchi The plants have completed their fourth week since germination and are growing strong. Not so much in height but in width, now covering the whole pot. They seem to have well adapted to the wick watering. They were already topped once, and a second time will follow soon. Since they're pretty compact, I haven't seen the need for LST yet. The late-runner caught up to the same height now but has much broader leaves. Light intensity has been increased to 50%. The AI+ controller is doing a very nice job and takes care of everything.
Within the next two weeks of vegging, I plan to top them a second time and then transplant them into their final pots of 11 liters.

S4nchi With the fifth vegetation week ending, the plants were transplanted into their final pots of 11 liters. Again, it'll take a few days until they adapt to their bigger shoes and the bottom watering. Transplanting them from 4 liter fabric pots was a hassle though since roots stuck to the fabric and I had to cut them open. Next time, I will not use intermediate fabric pots. Learning curve, I guess.
Plant size is 25cm and 16cm for the two older, normal looking Psiquitas. And then we have the youngest sister which trails about a week behind but has caught up, now measuring 20cm. The leaves of the young one are remarkably large, reminiscent of a lettuce. Growth-wise, she's also the sturdiest and strongest. It's a cool phenotype though. I've never seen leaves that large tbh. Let's see how she develops.
All plants have been topped twice now. Again, no LST. Rubbing the stem reveals a fresh herbal citrusy aroma. Yummy!

S4nchi We have completed week 6 of vegetation. The 3 plants behave all differently. The largest one has reached 40 cm with a larger internodial distance, an open structure, thinner leaves, great vigor - it definitely shows a more sativa-like growth. The middle one has 25 cm, it is way bushier and more compact but looks very nice and healthy. And then there's the odd "lettuce pheno" which currently stands at 30 cm. Big, broad leaves and thick stems. Kinda cool to see this variety of phenotypes all in one grow tbh.
All plants have adapted well to the transplanting into their final pots of 11 liters. Water consumption has taken up. Since our tap water is pretty hard (13.5dH) and slightly alkaline (about pH 8), it is pH-adjusted with 11% phosphoric acid (5ml per 10 liters). There's some pine mulch of last year's grow already in the soil which should act as a pH buffer. However, I guess a little help won't hurt. H202 (10 ml of 3% solution per 10 liter water) is also added to the water reservoir to keep it fresh. From my experience, it helps against the accumulation of smelly, anaerobic junk.
Since I let the tallest plant of 40cm determine the switch of the light cycle to 12/12, we're switching today. For the bushier, indica-leaning phenos I could have waited a few more days but apparently, there's a sativa-leaning pheno among them. Growing this variety for the first time, I have no idea what she's up to π Peace!

S4nchi One week since I switched the light to 12/12. No flowers in sight yet but the Psiquitas have responded well and start to stretch. The two bushier phenos not that much, but the larger sativa-pheno made a jump. All of them are drinking a lot more now, about 1,5 liters a day. Wick irrigation continues with hard tap water, pH adjusted with H3PO4 11%.
The side view shows the rather fascinating variety of phenos in this grow. It's one reason why I choose to grow two or three plants of the same strain at the same time. For the bushy ones, I might go for some small defoliation in the next couple of days. The smell is still very subtle, kinda fresh lemony.

S4nchi Two weeks after switching to 12/12, flowering on all plants has started without any issues. The sativa-pheno was the first while the lettuce-pheno came last and the mixed-pheno in betweeen. They're all looking well. One bag of Amblyseieus californicus (predatory mites) per plant was added to prevent pest infestation down the road.

S4nchi Everything's going fine. Plants have reached heights of 60, 70 and 80 cm, respectively. They're all blooming very nicely across all three phenotypes. The smell is noticeable but not very strong and it tends to the fresh and lemony side.

S4nchi Four weeks into flowering and the Psycho Girls are doing well. The smaller ones have almost caught up in height with their big sister which is nice. Lamp intensity is now at 90% (of 220 W) and the humidity hovers between 58% (day) and 63% (night).
Trichomes are already visible on the sugar leaves. The smell has gotten a bit stronger with the sativa-pheno going into the lime direction and another, sharper component I haven't figured out yet. The lettuce-pheno's smell (La Lechuga) is more discreet, tending into a sweet lemon direction. And the mixed pheno is, well, a mix of the other two.

S4nchi Another flowering week has passed and the three Psiquitas are doing their thing. Since the AI+ controller takes care of pretty much everything, all I have to do is to fill up the wick watering reservoir every 4 days and, while I'm at it, to remove a handful of smaller leaves from the bottom and the center. We're about half way through the flowering phase now. The smell is already great. Each time I open the tent, I'm greeted with a wave of sweet lemony awesomeness.

S4nchi Another weekly update without any issues. The Psiquitas are doing well and the buds are fattening up. The sugar leaves are already frosty and sticky.
Concerning the three phenotypes I noticed in the earlier weeks of this report, I think there are just two of them now. The smallest plant with the sativa-like growth and thin leaves now looks pretty much like one of her sisters. Also in terms of the smell, these two sativa-phenos are pretty similar.
The third plant, La Lechuga, is different though. Large and fat leaves, a much stronger stem system, a different smell. Leaf-to-bud ratio appears to be larger compared to her delicate sisters, the smell is also different. It's a creamy-lemon one vs. the limey-sharpie one of her sisters. I'm tempted to call this phenotype the Hulk phenotype, based on its stature and green appearance.

S4nchi Today we're at 8 weeks since switching lights and 46 days into visible flowers. Next week, we'll reach the recommended harvesting window. That's when I start checking trichomes.
Las Psiquitas are doing well. Buds are fattening up and the smell got more intense, very reminiscent of those nimm2 candy drops. Not the orange ones, the lemon ones. Not sweet though, it also got a bitter underlying note. It's lovely. Each time I do a soft defoliation, fingers get sticky with lemony awesomeness. I think the Cinderella 99 I tried a few years ago had a similar smell. I can't wait for the harvest alas this is not the day.

S4nchi We're exactly 8 weeks into flowering (66 days after light switch) and the end is near. Buds are still fattening up, the frostiness is going strong, and the aroma is getting even awesomer, too. All well. The trichomes are majorily cloudy and not an amber one in sight. Jolly good, that's how I like my sativas. I'll give the Psiquitas a few more days because they're so pretty pretty. But the end of their short life (and of this report) is just around the corner.

S4nchi We arrived at the last week of this grow. Day 106 since germination, Day 71 since switching Lights to 12/12. Day 61 since flowering started. This relates really nicely to the information of Sweet Seeds of a flowering time of 8-9 weeks. The chopping axe is scheduled at day 108.
Within the last week, the buds have fattened up. With their "autumn" approaching, the leaf colour close to the buds has changed to a dark-green violet. The sativa-leaning phenotypes turned out a little more colourful while the indica-leaning phenotype not so much.
The smell is just great, it's dominantly lemon/lime with some exciting dark bitterness in the background. Again, the sativa-leaning phenotype presents itself with some more of the dark note while the indica-leaning phenotype ("La Lechuga") a little less. I'm really curious how the aroma will develop after drying and curing,
Psicodelicia is one of those strains that instantly reminded me why I got into growing cannabis in the first place. In a world full of candy-sweet dessert hybrids and strains that all seem to blend together after a while, Psicodelicia feels refreshingly different. It has character. It has personality. And for someone who has a soft spot for old-school sativas, that's something I really appreciate.
The first thing that caught my attention was the smell. Every time I opened a jar, I was greeted by this beautiful burst of fresh lemon and lime zest. Bright, lively and refreshing, but never sweet or artificial. What really fascinated me, though, was the darker layer hiding underneath. A slightly bitter note that reminded me of herbs, citrus peel and, surprisingly, freshly brewed coffee. Especially after grinding the buds, the room would fill with this wonderful aroma that genuinely made me think someone had just started a coffee machine nearby. I found myself opening the jars more often than necessary just to smell them.
The smoke is incredibly smooth and elegant. Fresh citrus dominates the inhale, while the exhale leaves behind a dry, roasted bitterness that lingers pleasantly on the palate. It's one of those flavors that keeps you thinking about it long after the session is over. The more I smoked it, the more I appreciated how different it felt from the fruit-bomb profiles that dominate the market today.
The effect is where Psicodelicia really shines for me. It comes on fairly quickly, usually with a subtle mood lift before I even realize I'm high. Suddenly music sounds better, conversations become more engaging and even ordinary things seem a little more interesting. It's uplifting and creative without becoming overwhelming. Lightly psychedelic, but never confusing. Clear-headed, but never boring. I've enjoyed it while listening to albums from start to finish, going for evening walks, working in the garden and even gaming for hours. It has this rare ability to make you feel present and engaged without demanding anything from you.
Among the phenotypes I grew, the sativa-leaning plants were definitely my favorites. They brought stronger citrus notes, more of that dark coffee-like bitterness and a more electric, colorful high. They were also the ones that developed the prettiest late-season colors. The indica-leaning pheno, affectionately nicknamed La Lechuga, was a little softer and greener, with a slightly calmer effect and less of the darker aromatic complexity.
What I enjoy most about Psicodelicia is that it never feels heavy. It doesn't flatten the day or glue you to the couch. Instead, it feels like someone quietly turned up the saturation and contrast settings on reality for a few hours. Things aren't radically different, just a little brighter, a little warmer and a little more interesting.
Looking back, this has easily become one of my favorite Sweet Seeds strains. If you're looking for something with genuine personality, beautiful citrus aromas, a touch of coffee-like depth and a happy, clear-headed high, I can wholeheartedly recommend giving Psicodelicia a chance.

S4nchi On Flower Day 63, the three Psiquitas were harvested. The buds turned out pretty sticky. After wet trim, the average of yield per plant was 268g. I presume that will lead to a dry yield about 1g/W. The buds are now drying in pizza boxes in a no-frost fridge at 6Β°C, probably for the next 3-4 weeks. I have been using this method several times and it always delivers peak quality.
Overall, I'm really happy with the outcome of my first indoor grow. My main learnings are not to transplant from fabric pots and maybe take better care of side branches. Especially the sativa-leaning phenotypes developed a ton of them.
Now, the big question is how the Psicodelicias will smell, taste, and perform after drying and curing. I'll report back.
π Amazing progress! Everything is dialed in perfectly ππ₯ Respect! I also document my grows on YouTube would really appreciate the support and love ππΊπ±
@SkunkOne, I chop off one of the middle size Aloe leaves, cut it into thin slices and put the cuts in a bowl of cold water. I let them soak for an hour, then squeeze the slimy jelly out of the slices using my bare hands. The slime will dissolve in the water. Next, I remove the plant matter with a sieve and use the resulting solution to feed the plants. I do this everytime after a transplantation, it seems to work nicely.
