S4nchi Starting the new year with my first ever indoor grow, yay. No idea how this will turn out. I guess I let the AI+ controller handle most of it, we'll see. Strain selection to inaugurate the tent was easy though. In terms of taste and effects, Psicodelicia ranks among my top 3 sativas. I've just never grown it outside since it's a photoperiodic strain and I was afraid of losing it to budrot in autumn.
Alright, let's go.Three seeds are kept in a shot glass with water for 18 hours, then transferred to Jiffy pots.

S4nchi Two of the three seeds sprouted within 2-3 days, the third one took a bit longer and is trailing behind. No big issue, since I actually planned for a two plant only grow anyways. A germination rate of 100% is still a very nice thing.
They got transferred into proper substrate as soon as they hit the plastic cover of the germination box, then into the tent they went.

S4nchi The girls are growing! At least the leaves are. The stems are still a bit thin, but I’m not worried about that anymore. I’ll bury them a bit deeper when I transplant them. Probably in the upcoming days. They’re two weeks old now and just growing their third set of leaves.
In the larger fabric pots, the issue with low humidity should pretty much sort itself out as well. I’ll be using wick watering again, which I’ve had very good experiences with in the past. In the meantime, a wet towel serves the purpose. Kinda.
Oh, and a latecoming Psiquita has joined the crew too. I sowed her a week later than the other two as a backup. With proper light distance from the start, she's doing nicely. A 100% germination rate is always impressive. I’m not sure yet if I keep the baby sister or not, but she’s pretty cute 😅.

S4nchi Going into week 3, the Psiquitas were transplanted into 4 liter fabric pots and fed with homemade Aloe Vera juice to stimulate root growth. Three days later, we switched to wick bottom watering. Things will slow down for a few days as the roots adapt to the new situation but they do look nice and healthy so far. The fourth pair of true leaves are already being formed. AI+ was set to vegetative growth. Humidity is now dialed in at a constant 50%. Illumination at 40%.

S4nchi The plants have completed their fourth week since germination and are growing strong. Not so much in height but in width, now covering the whole pot. They seem to have well adapted to the wick watering. They were already topped once, and a second time will follow soon. Since they're pretty compact, I haven't seen the need for LST yet. The late-runner caught up to the same height now but has much broader leaves. Light intensity has been increased to 50%. The AI+ controller is doing a very nice job and takes care of everything.
Within the next two weeks of vegging, I plan to top them a second time and then transplant them into their final pots of 11 liters.

S4nchi With the fifth vegetation week ending, the plants were transplanted into their final pots of 11 liters. Again, it'll take a few days until they adapt to their bigger shoes and the bottom watering. Transplanting them from 4 liter fabric pots was a hassle though since roots stuck to the fabric and I had to cut them open. Next time, I will not use intermediate fabric pots. Learning curve, I guess.
Plant size is 25cm and 16cm for the two older, normal looking Psiquitas. And then we have the youngest sister which trails about a week behind but has caught up, now measuring 20cm. The leaves of the young one are remarkably large, reminiscent of a lettuce. Growth-wise, she's also the sturdiest and strongest. It's a cool phenotype though. I've never seen leaves that large tbh. Let's see how she develops.
All plants have been topped twice now. Again, no LST. Rubbing the stem reveals a fresh herbal citrusy aroma. Yummy!

S4nchi We have completed week 6 of vegetation. The 3 plants behave all differently. The largest one has reached 40 cm with a larger internodial distance, an open structure, thinner leaves, great vigor - it definitely shows a more sativa-like growth. The middle one has 25 cm, it is way bushier and more compact but looks very nice and healthy. And then there's the odd "lettuce pheno" which currently stands at 30 cm. Big, broad leaves and thick stems. Kinda cool to see this variety of phenotypes all in one grow tbh.
All plants have adapted well to the transplanting into their final pots of 11 liters. Water consumption has taken up. Since our tap water is pretty hard (13.5dH) and slightly alkaline (about pH 8), it is pH-adjusted with 11% phosphoric acid (5ml per 10 liters). There's some pine mulch of last year's grow already in the soil which should act as a pH buffer. However, I guess a little help won't hurt. H202 (10 ml of 3% solution per 10 liter water) is also added to the water reservoir to keep it fresh. From my experience, it helps against the accumulation of smelly, anaerobic junk.
Since I let the tallest plant of 40cm determine the switch of the light cycle to 12/12, we're switching today. For the bushier, indica-leaning phenos I could have waited a few more days but apparently, there's a sativa-leaning pheno among them. Growing this variety for the first time, I have no idea what she's up to 😀 Peace!
@SkunkOne, I chop off one of the middle size Aloe leaves, cut it into thin slices and put the cuts in a bowl of cold water. I let them soak for an hour, then squeeze the slimy jelly out of the slices using my bare hands. The slime will dissolve in the water. Next, I remove the plant matter with a sieve and use the resulting solution to feed the plants. I do this everytime after a transplantation, it seems to work nicely.
