Hello folks. I am beginning my first grow on here with bomb seeds, Gorilla Bomb. I have started them in rockwool using nothing but distilled water.
My cat knocked a light over and the yellowing you see is from the light touching the leaf. Im sure it will recover fine but i saved 1 seed just in case i needed to make a mother and take clones to start over. Trying to plan ahead and have a backup option. The one with the twisted/deformed leaf had not the seed husk but what i might call an embyro stuck too it. I was waiting for it to get big enough i could safely remove it and did so yesterday without harming the seedling. Wish me luck guys. I tend to not do well with seedlings but once I have something I can take clones from we are golden! Haha. =)
Hello everyone. Its the beginning of week 2 since these ladies sprouted. I noticed the growth has slowed over the last couple of days so I decided to give a few nutes. Using Current culture: UC roots enzyme. Current Culture: cal mag. Pure blend pro grow. And honestly one of my favorites is fish shit. Its just like it sounds and it smells like it sounds. But it is a high quality fish emulsion and my plants absolutely LOVE IT. Came out to 180ppm. Hopefully thats not too much for my girls. Never given nutes to plants this small before. Always worked with clones in the past with hydro. And soil didnt need nutes til later on. Seedlings scre me. They are so fragile and whiney =P
Ill be back with more later. Thanks for the support.
Hey guys. So i got some kind of burning immediately after adding the nutrients. I jumped the gun perhaps but I wasnt happy with their color... Putting my patient pants on. No nutrients other than a small amount of fish emulsion. Letting them recover for now.
The coco one is doing just fine so if nothing else I can take clones hopefully and start over if it comes too that but we have had some new growth and things are looking like they will take a turn for the better.
I do apologise for the weak update. I made a mistake and I will overcome! Stick with me. I will succeed!
Hello everyone whos been following. So we have been recovering nicely. Their color is still terrible. The burning has stopped. They have doubled in size and the roots are growing wild! I have reintroduced a very small amount of nutrients and am hoping for some better color in the leaves. Or they will burn spectacularly to their deaths this time most likely. Lol
Hey everyone.
If anyone is still watching. You rock and thank you.
More trouble and issues. So after successfully giving it nutrients for the first time last week we had a growth spurt but also a stretch due to inadequate and uneven lighting. Need to make some modifications in the future there. In this veg box there is 3x60 watt compact flourescents. 2x2ft t12 flourescent tubes. And a 300 watt led. One of those chinese blurple leds that is real weak. It is the one that caused the stretching I believe.
This rapid growth also came with the reservoir draining unexpectedly quick which is probably the only thing that saved the plants because then I lost electricity for 36 hours. The pumps were off! The plants are very very unhappy as you can see. =( I am still new to hydro and trying to figure it out and these mistakes taught me quite a bit on how to proceed going forward. I realize one of my mistakes now is using such a small container. It empties too fast and is too small to make easy nutrient mixes. The new container holds exactly a gallon of water and its perfect for our needs. I didnt have o paint it this time so i hot glued a garbage bag on to black it out just so i could get the plants into their new home. The roots had all tangled and i had to damage them extensively to separate them...or rather i did without meaning too. We will see how they fare in a day or so.
The hydro plants are using current cultures nutrient solution as well as botanicares silica blast. This is up about double from last week. Will not be changing nutrient regiment until growth is healthy. I may ultimately scrap these and take clones from the plant in coco coir once it is big enough. I am unsure right now on the future of the garden but I felt I owed you all an update.
The single one in the coco coir is thriving. It is being given the organic nutrient line from Nectar For The Gods.
Hey guys. So i know its been awhile. Had alot going on but I will finish this grow out with yall promise! Ive got exciting developments finally coming as I build the new hydro system. Its way overdue but have had funding problems and may have started a bit prematurely however all 4 seeds are alive. All but 1 clone of my old strains are alive. Everything is healthy and vigorous.
The damage to the gorilla bomb is slowly disappearing. The smallest and most deformed plant is still showing odd textures to the leaves. IM curious to see how my little freak baby abuse victims turn out. *le sigh* Learn from my mistakes and press forward! They look ok now you guys think?
@BigDaddyK, Quite contrary its the only one having trouble right now. Its acting like a nute burn but ive given it no nutes yet. Wanted it to adjust to the coco and spread its roots. Give it some time...maybe just shock.
Quick update. All of the hydro plants started burning. Im not sure why yet. Changed out res for plain ph'ed water. Will give it a night for them to use up some of that buildup and come up with a plan from here. I have an irregularly sized container that im not sure the exact volume of water its holding. Shall press on and start over from clones if i have too. Ill post some more pics soon.
I'm with you bro. I got some gorilla bomb seeds too but waiting and going with Royal gorilla and White widow first. Started with DWC on my first ever and from my experience so far is just having one plant per tub is the way to go because those roots will get huge in dwc. Good luck and I will be following you.
