zip420 Since these are old stock, I helped them along by cracking the shells. Setting soaking day as Day #0. Keeping room temp at 25°C with a 24/0 light cycle. Adjusted the light to around 170 µmol/m²/s PPFD (measured through the cup). Water only, pH adjusted to 6.0. First attempt update: Germinated and standing, but no true leaves emerging. Growth has stalled completely. Likely due to old seed age or early stress. Decided to retire this one to focus on the much stronger third seedling and stay on track for my February schedule.

zip420 The growth speed has been about a week slower than usual, and since the growing point didn't appear for a while, I thought it was just going to wither away. However, I’ve finally confirmed what looks like the start of true leaves. I've decided to keep an eye on it for a little longer. PPFD:200~330μmol/m2/s

zip420 Slow start—about 10 days behind—but the true leaves are finally unfolding. Time to see if she can make a comeback! For some reason, this seed lot has many mutants with curled leaf tips. My base water EC is 0.1 mS/cm.

zip420 She’s finally found her stride! Although the leaf mutations from this seed lot are still visible, she has regained her vigor and growth speed seems back to normal. So glad I didn't give up on her! The internodal spacing is quite tight, so she’s looking like a very squat and bushy Indica-leaning pheno.

catyledons look burnt tip. remember first week plus no nutes at all. soil should be mild at surface. but to moist will cause this issue too. not to much light either. since you have so many mutants . it's your environment. which can include almost everything.

@Growyourhi, Thank you for the advice. It's interesting because I'm growing several different strains under the same conditions, but only this specific one is showing these mutations. It might be more sensitive or prefer much drier conditions than the others. Although not visible in the photo, I’m actually monitoring the soil moisture with a Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor v1.2. Based on your feedback, I’ll try reducing the watering frequency even further to see if it improves.

@zip420, well the starter leaves are in the seed attached to catyledons. so if in history of seed it gets damaged.) no way to tell by looking at) those attached starter leaves can come out twisted or missing parts. if that was the case. it will grow out of that eventually. and really isn't a true mutant but if too wet when coming out of shell. this also can occur.

Love the detailed germination documentation! She's coming along nicely through each stage. The crack and soak method sounds smart for old stock. How long is your typical timeline from soak to first roots showing? 🌱

@wolfvb, Thanks! It usually takes about 2 days for the taproot to show, and this one was no different. However, its growth after that was at about half the usual speed. Since I helped crack the shell, I feel like she’s finally regaining some momentum. Honestly, I’ll just be happy if she makes it. Fingers crossed! 🌱
