Planted 5 seeds straight in 5 gallon buckets. Medium is 70/30 coco/perlite washed and buffered. Style is hempy bucket *(only one drain hole 2 inches up from bottom of the pot, the bottom 2 inch is a reservoir filled with perlite only, 70/30 mix filled the rest)*
2 days later on 4-26-19 all but one of the seeds poked there heads. The next day the last popped up with seed still stuck that i tweezed off.
At this stage was watering 250 mL of 500 ppm nutrient water around the base about three hours before lights off. Misting played a crucial part in keeping them healthy until roots were fully established.
This was the start of feeding 1 liter per plant of 700-750 ppm. 2ml of calmag xtra and 3ml of gh floranova grow. They ate that shit like a snack. Tds and ph meter was essential starting here to test run off.
I bent main the main colas to the edge of the pot. I accidentally broke the main stem at the third node on the plant in the middle. Didn't seem too bothered surprisingly. 4 days later at age 21 from sprout (5-17-2019) theyve pretty much filled the grow space.
5-19-2019
Did my 2nd and last lst on the 5 girls. Broke another main stem on a plant, but this time the side branches were actually bigger than the main stem that was already trained down. O well. Letting them do their own thing now and plan on leaf tucking when they start to flower.
Girls are a month old today! 5/26/19 Not much has changed. I raised my ppm to around 850-875. The extra ppm is coming from a few extra drops of flora nova grow. I upped my watering to two times a day. About a liter each plant two times a day. They are 30 days old and ive been patiently waiting for pre flowers. Don't want to rush them but damn. Been fighting temperatures a lil but with research on my leds and in house c02 levels the constant temp of 90 degrees during the day in the grow room isn't hurting too much. Plants are about 18 inches tall with the exception of one thats half the size of the rest. Run off is 6.3 ph at 700 ppm
5 30 19....34 days old
What's up y'all. Been busy these past four days. Tuesday the electric on my street went out for 4 hours. I still gave it its normal four hours of dark that night. Might have stressed em good cause the next day i think I'm starting to see a switch into flowering. Confirmation? These girls are getting big. Did a little experiment on the smallest plant in my garden. Kinda wanna hold off on what that was. But i will say i stressed it to the max..
Week 5 from sprout.
Welp the girls are in there stretching phase and there's a few alternating nodes. And ive switched some things so I'll try to be thorough for any future people reading.
First i took out the two house speakers the pants were sitting on and put them on the floor. Which put my lights back at about 25 inches from the canopy.... again...
I have a cut up air mattress lining the bottom and side as a make shift tub to catch the runoff. Honestly dunno how ima drain or empty it yet but i have 2 inches of a closet to figure that out.
I reluctantly switched to tap water today, my ppm of straight cold water was 255 so hopefully the chlorine evaporates and the water temp raises before i water them.
On that subject, I've switched up their feeding. A combination of cal mag, grow, and bloom. About 1.5 ml per gal of all three. Will be feeding this until the flowering stretch stops in a week or so at which time I'll omit the grow and cal mag and feed bloom. Each plant gets 1.5 liters 2 times a day. (Unless im busy/ lazy). Will update ppm when i get things dialed in.
Took a good amount of leaves outta necessity of space and light.... and kinda to purposely stress them out jus a little to slow their growth just a tad..
I'm keeping the same 20/4 light schedule. As of right now still have the one led light. Which is why i keep having to move the lights/ plants. So i get as close to the sweet spot of par as possible.
They're definitely sativa dominant and 4 plants are 30 inches or more. The small one is about 20 inches. .
Ps.... I had to write all this shit twice cause my phone died.
Week 6 from sprout. Around 40 days from sprout.
Not much have changed. Completely over to bloom so hopefully the extra pk does its job. I plan on increasing ppm until my run off is only 100 or so below my feed. I'll let this journal know when i feel i have equaled out. Today i gave a feed of 1500 (3000/3.0 ec) ppm twice. .... will let u know what the runoff readings say tomorrow evening.
Takes a lot of ph down to get my tap water right. ...
I need to raise my light a little. Though only two plants are the reason. So im a little conflicted.
My temps have been averaging about 85-90... rh around 50.
Some pistils on the sides were going orange. it may be strain and my fan that i keep full blast in there. Leaves closest to the light are stressed. But that's jus a few colas on two plants. Figure out light and height tomorrow.
I have been removing runoff by scooping up about 2 gals worth of runoff every other day....
One plant looks more indica and i love the bushy fat leaves look.
I hope they aren't too leggy to get good yeild. As most of em are over 42 inches. I'll take better pics later on.
2 days later 6-9-19
Ok. Canopy was getting ridiculous. And lst was out the question so i went to extreme measures. I supercropped everything down with 3 inches of my smallest plant. The biggest today measured at 52 inches tall and 30 inches wide. Will post before and after pics after i make dinner for the fam..
Update 7 weeks old
The girls turned seven weeks Friday and the growth has seemed to finally stop. Little buds are getting bigger. Im doing a little experiment with them to see if i can dial in the nutrients strength. They've been getting 1500 ppm up until yesterday. I upped the feed to 2500 ppm 5 ec. I want my run off ppm to be about even. The run off for 2500 was 1400. I'll back off the first sign of nute burn. Feeding twice a day. I feel i need three. But ya know. Laziness.
Considering eliminating the 4 hr dark period and running them at 24 hrs.. will probably implement that after tonight.
Supercropping helped alot with my canopy and seems to be promoting growth.
Week 8 update....
Plants are taking their sweet time. Hoping im doing this shit right. I trimmed some more popcorn bud branches and took out a bunch of fan leaves. Trying to utilize my light and control environment. Opened up the canopy with some pipe cleaners.... is it too early to guesstimate yield? Plants are 8 weeks, about 2 weeks into flower. . i figure i have another 50 days or so. Breeder gives 65 days for flowering. Im at around 15. Not counting the week stretch after first preflowers...... feeding about 2300 ppm. Light about 15 inches above canopy. Now it's the waiting game. Light staying where it's at. Ec staying where it's at until flush. They're shouldn't be many leaves growing back. My only thing i have to focus on is the amount of times i water a day and keeping an eye out for any cal mag deficiencies. Gave a little cal/mag/ nitrogen for the loss of leaves in tonight's feeding.
9 weeks from sprout. Week 3 in flower.
Everything's going smooth.. i think. Had degrees up mid 90s for a couple days and plugged in the ac. My bedroom is cold as fuck now which has my closet ranging from 77 at night to 81 during the day. I really don't want any colder than that. They are starting to smell jus a little more these past three days. At first i didn't smell them unless i touched em for the most part.
Ppms staying between 2000 and 2300...
Playing the damn waiting game.
I got some free time tomorrow. Maybe ill take some of them close up glam-style shots of some buds starting to form.
The strain was easy to grow. The autos were topped and suppercropped. Along with lst. Amazing yeild for my first grow. Almost a pound with 300w led. Trichomes were hard to read and took forever to turn. Went for 17 weeks from sprout. Didnt flush as long as a wanted so curing is my focus rn.
