Been excited to start these girls! Feels like I am loading up the wagon headed to the old wild west.
Soaked them overnight in plain tap water and they both popped in about 18 hours. Went into 2" rockwool cubes until they shot a few roots out of the bottom (day 4). Then they were transferred to the dutch buckets and we are off....
System in a low tech setup. 5 gallon buckets lined with paint strainer nets. Filled with 100% perlite. The buckets drain is set 2" above the bottom so they always have some nutrients available if there power or pump issues. I am starting them on a 5 gallon reservoir that is aerieated 24/7. A small submersible pump running on a timer delivers nutrients to the plants through 1/8" irrigation tube. It is a simple system that produces great results with minimal maintainance. I am starting them off with 24 hour irrigation until they build some roots.
Lighting with a 1000w galaxy hydro full spectrum. Really love this light.
@BuddingBudda, my theory is a combination of 24 hour light, a big pot for the roots, and hard training will make them veg longer. I really dont have enough experience with them to say though. Silky pulls off all 5 finger and more leaves and that keeps hers in veg longer. You will definitely like the yields on photos.
@Wicked_Stix,haha thats crazy, dont think any of my autos have gone past the 4 week mark, which is a shame as youd expect bigger yields doing that, trying my hand at photoperiods soon so ive got control over vegging ๐
@@Fingers, Im hoping for 4 oz on the big one if I can get her to swell up. I haven't had much luck on them fattening up in the end with this setup. Im thinking I need to find a stable PK booster to help with that?
@SwedenX, yes I use a 60x. These are at about 5% amber now. I am pretty new to autos still. Always heard they are low quality. Definitely changed my mind though.
@Wicked_Stix, ooooh that's what I like to hear, I spent a long time looking into what the best bang for buck LEDs were and the QBs seemed to be just that! I'm super impressed with my 96v2 so far, can't wait to get more!
