Been excited to start these girls! Feels like I am loading up the wagon headed to the old wild west. Soaked them overnight in plain tap water and they both popped in about 18 hours. Went into 2" rockwool cubes until they shot a few roots out of the bottom (day 4). Then they were transferred to the dutch buckets and we are off.... System in a low tech setup. 5 gallon buckets lined with paint strainer nets. Filled with 100% perlite. The buckets drain is set 2" above the bottom so they always have some nutrients available if there power or pump issues. I am starting them on a 5 gallon reservoir that is aerieated 24/7. A small submersible pump running on a timer delivers nutrients to the plants through 1/8" irrigation tube. It is a simple system that produces great results with minimal maintainance. I am starting them off with 24 hour irrigation until they build some roots. Lighting with a 1000w galaxy hydro full spectrum. Really love this light.

We are 12 days into the journey to stake our claim in search for the fastest buds in the west! After a week on the trail I woke up to find that one of the girls had some brown spots on her leaves. I thought she may have been ambushed by some wild engines in the night, but I popped the lid on the reservoir and saw cloudy water. I immediately knew then that we were safe from the indians, but we have some outlaw bacteria brewing in the system! Reached for the saddlebag and pulled out the ph test kit. As I suspected.... ph was up off the charts. Fortunately I loaded some hydrogen peroxide on the wagon before we left so I added 3 tsp of a 3% mixture per gallon of water and that took care of the issue pretty quick. Just goes to show that the trail can be rough when you are headed to the wild west. I am pretty sure this was caused by not washing the perlite well enough before reusing it. She is recovering well. Looks like we are back on the trail hopefully we can avoid any more bumps in the road. I added a little more maxigro but not doing a water change this week. Want to let the peroxide run until I am sure there wont be any more bacteria issues.

Been on the trail headed west for 18 days. You would think we are in search of riches and gold, but we are looking for the fastest buds in the west. Upped the maxigro and added a little maxibloom this week after a 10 gallon flush with ro water. The girls were getting a little bushy from the trip so I went ahead and topped them on day 15. I think one got bitter because the next day on day 16 she pulled out a pistil and pointed at me. Whoa girl!! Its a little early to be pulling those out. On day 18 I tied them down jumped back in the wagon and we are off on the trail. The wild west may be getting to my head. Might have come down with a case of bud fever.... Day 21 update. The girls were looking great so I decided to give one of them a second topping. I bent one of her branches a little too much and SNAP! She didn't like it too much. Bandaged her up with some soft ribbon and I think she will survive it. I wanted to do something a little different with the other girl so I trimmed the lower leaves and branches to see if she would spread out further. Seems we are on schedule just hoping no wheels fall off this wagon....

We are still saddled up headed west like outlaws and bandits. These girls have been mighty fine all this week. The snapped branch from last week is healing up pretty good. Been plucking a couple leaves here and there. Im guessing they will probably veg for a couple more weeks. Gonna pull out the rope and try to lasso them down a little more before they start shooting up the saloon. Just going to stay on the trail always keeping an eye out for problems. Could be engines or outlaws down the road.

5 weeks out here on the range seeking the fastest buds in the west. Started the week off with the usual 10 gallon ro water flush and fresh nutrients. Went ahead and switched to maxibloom even though I think they are going to veg for another week at least. May add a little gro when I top off the water if they look like they want nitrogen. Been trying to train these girls the same I would photos and I am seeing that you definitely have to bend them early. These branches firm up much faster than photos. They really take to the abuse pretty well though. Have cut stems and pulled the leaves pretty bald a couple times and havent seen any stress from them. Guess these genetics are made for the rough trail headed to the wild west! Hope we can avoid the bandits and outlaws til next week.

6 weeks have passed out here on the trail in search of the fastest buds in the west.... 41 days into the journey. I think its time to crack the whip in these girls and make them flower before we run out of room in this wagon. I cut the lights back to 18 hrs. They are practicing their quick draw skills pulling some pistils out. Looks like these girls might be ready for a high noon showdown in the land of savages and outlaws. I started the week out with the usual 10 gallon flush and fresh nutrients ph to 6.0. Will probably be doing another heavy defoliation soon. Gotta keep these girls clean so they can soak up all that light. Just going to let them hang out under the waterfall while I prepare for the final stretch of this journey. I will stake my claim in this untamed land and find the fastest buds in the west.

Been out here on the trail 7 weeks trying to stake my claim in search of the fastest buds in the west. Its like a wild west rodeo dealing with one of the girls. Shes hitting flower pulling pistils out everywhere. Shooting up like a high noon showdown around here. The other one is just hanging out not hitting any stretch yet. I gave them a 10 gallon flush and fresh juice. They have been drinking like they are at the saloon. Just going to keep this wagon headed west. Trying to avoid the rattlers and wild engines down the trail.

Been a smooth week out here on the trail in search of the fastest buds in the west. Stopped by the creek and flushed the girls with 10 gallons of water. Filled some buckets up and we are back on the trail. The tall one is flowering nicely and the short girl is not far behind her. They have their six shooters out and keeping an eye out for outlaws sneaking up on us. Just going to keep headed west until we reach harvest and stake our claim on some of this green gold.

Started the week off with a 10 gallon flush and some fresh nutrients. My galaxyhydro leds are amazing for veg, but have been getting a lot of flowering stretch with them so I am going to try out some of these 240w quantum boards. I can say they are super bright! The tall girl is stacking buds pretty nice. Starting to see some frost on her. The short one is behind but she appears to be in full flower now also. Just going to keep the wagon on the trail trying to stake my claim in search of the fastest buds in the west.

10 weeks have passed out here on the trail in search of the fastest buds in the west. Looks like it may be another 4 weeks or so until we stake our claim and harvest these girls. I started the week off with a 10 gallon flush and fresh nutrients. The qb lights seem to be doing the job. Looks like the stretch is about over on the big one. I backed off the nutrients a little. I have added a little fox farms cha ching to see if it will run a stable ph. Just going to keep the wagon headed west.

Still out here on the trail in search of the fastest buds in the west! Just gave the girls a 10 gallon fush of ph 6 ro water and fresh nutrients. Went down on the strength a little more since they are still looking pretty dark. Pumping nutrients 18 hours a day while the lights are on. The smaller plant is going to suffer a lot on yield sonce I have to focus lighting on the stronger plant but looks like the big girl will more than make up for it. The difference in phenos is unusual. The big plant has 7 finger indica looking leaves but a sativa structure. The smaller one has long 9 finger sativa leaves but a small indica structure. The small one looks like what she does produce will be potent though. Checked out the trichomes for the first time and they are starting to get a little cloudy here and there. A couple of the calyxes are getting huge! I think the 240w quantum boards are more than worth the $230 they cost. Definite improvement in bud structure over the other leds I have. Really anticipating getting a full grow under these. But for now just going to keep the wagon headed west until we can harvest these girls and ride off into the sunset.

I took off like an outlaw out here in search of the fastest buds in the west. Well after 12 weeks it is clear we arent going to find the fastest buds on this one but looks like these girls are going to be well worth the wait! Been peeking up their skirts and I like what I see 😎😎. The big girl just keeps stacking those calyxes and packing on weight. Some of the thinner branches are starting to sag under the weight. The little girl is still behind but she is steadily stacking on some buds also. I have completed this entire run on a 5 gallon reservoir. Originally it was temporary but procrastinated it and here we are. Have been adding about 2 gallons every 2 days to keep it topped off. I let it run low and looks like a little potassium excess, but we are still on the trail. I have always used my phone for photos but grabbed my wifes camera and took a few shots. Going to have to play around with that some more!! I gave the girls their weekly 10 gallon flush and fresh nutrients. Just going to keep this wagon headed west until we can harvest these girls and ride off into the sunset.

Still saddled up headed west pushing these girls to the end of their journey. Buds are swelling, the smell is skunky, and they are looking pretty tasty. Lowered the nutrient level for what will probably be their final week of feeding. Starting to get some amber trichomes. Will start flushing them next week. Getting a few foxtails on the big one. Other than that we are just going to keep on the trail until I can stake my claim and harvest these girls before riding off into the sunset.

We got some fat sticky buds a brewin out here in the wild west. These girls are getting a flush with some old fashioned molasses just like grandna used to do it. Probably end up flushing for 7 days. Had to tie up a couple of the buds that were trying to fall over. This has been a long journey on the trail but looks I am about to stake my claim on this green gold like an true outlaw and ride off into the sunset.

It has been a pleasure to grow and sample this strain. It has a sweet fruity flavor with a little skunky aroma. I am sure it will get even better after curing longer. It is definitely a creeper. Not very hard hitting at first but it builds up and can put you in a vegetable like state for short period of time. You are awake but not very coherent. It has legs too! The effects stick with you for a couple hours at least. Dont want to smoke too much of this if you have to think on your feet or be productive. I love the smoke and I will definitely be growing it again.

Ended up with a little over 9 oz of premium herb on these. Almost 7 oz came from the big plant alone. Growing this strain was a breeze. They took well to topping and being tied down. I am still dialing in working with autos and leds but making progress.

@Wicked_Stix,thanks for the tips will try these out on my next auto run, then its on to photoperiods, bring on the yields 😆
Wicked_Stix
Wicked_Stixcommented6 years ago
@BuddingBudda, my theory is a combination of 24 hour light, a big pot for the roots, and hard training will make them veg longer. I really dont have enough experience with them to say though. Silky pulls off all 5 finger and more leaves and that keeps hers in veg longer. You will definitely like the yields on photos.

@Wicked_Stix,haha thats crazy, dont think any of my autos have gone past the 4 week mark, which is a shame as youd expect bigger yields doing that, trying my hand at photoperiods soon so ive got control over vegging 👌
