Planted Seed in a mix of Coco peat, perlite and worm castings. Germinated after six days. Planted her directly into the medium and placed her outside. I have problems with cats and dogs eating my seedlings so I placed some chicken wire around the container, Hope this helps.

This week went okay. I think I am quite happy. I did not feed the seedling any nutrients. I figured there is enough Vermicompost in there to provide the seedling with some nutrient and micro nutrients that it needs without burning it's roots. I will feed the plant hydroponic nutrient at half the recommended mixing instructions as specified by the manufacturer at the next watering.

Did not do much except two waterings at slightly more diluted ratio than recommended by supplier. I will keep an eye on the little lady and I hope to see her growing bigger next week.

She is looking healthy, she seemed to growing slow but I think it is because of planting her outside in the winter where there isn't much light. Feeding her normal strength nutrient.

I have increased the feed and added calcium and magnesium. Also started my first attempt at low stress training. She seems to have started growing faster.

The color of the plant looked kind of off. And growth was pretty slow. I checked my ph was too high larger than 7.0. So I adjusted the PH between 6.0 and 6.5 and flushed her with correct PH nutrient. It seems to have made a difference. The plant is now a more green color with less shocking yellow. And growth is looking much better. I really need a digital PH and EC meter.

Fed her some nutrients, and after making sure nutrient solution is correct PH she looks good and is starting to grow well. I have made some attempt at LST but I am still a noob.

I was working a bit too hard on her while attempting to learn LST. I will take it easier on her in the future. Overall she is turning out to be quite an interesting plant small short but very bushy. She is also my first autoflower so it was a great experience to see her bloom after eight weeks.

Grow Questions
DBpF4nZA
DBpF4nZAstarted grow question 6 years ago
Hi everyone hope you are doing well. Should I just trim some of the fan leaves so the nodes can get proper light or should I leave the leaves as is? I have noticed that I am working a bit rough with her and wondered if it would be kinder to just remove some of the extra foliage.

@DBpF4nZA hi there mate, yes you can remove some fan leaves as it will let more light in but will also let more air flow in and around those buds. This is especially important to reduce the risk of botrytis (bud rot) forming> Happy grows

Kept an eye on her and basically tried to expose as many nodes and bud sites to as much light exposure as possible. The temperature is a bit cold with a cold wind. She seems to still be growing well albeit a bit on the slow side. Buds are forming with trichomes already visible.

She is starting to grow quite vigorously and getting bushy even though we had some cold fronts so there were times where growth was slow for a day or two. The trichomes are starting to show and looks very good. I have stopped any training on this plant as I think I have abused her a bit through my inexperience with LST training. All in all, she is looking very good and healthy in my opinion. She is also starting to use a lot more water.

Buds seems to be growing bigger everyday and is starting to look nice and frosty. I had to remove some leaves to allow some of the nodes to get some light and attempted some light LST training to make space for all the buds. Overall I am quite happy she is looking beautiful. 😀

Just trying to grow the smaller bud sites as much as possible. I rotated the container to change the light coverage. Had some issues where plant was overwatered with wrong PH water. Otherwise she seems to be doing good in the warmer weather.

I am mainly just feeding nutrient and watering on a regular basis. I turned the container so smaller buds are exposed to more light. She seems to be doing quite well and I am very happy. She is starting to smell quite pungent and minty and her buds are looking interesting.

This week I just observed the lady made sure that she is fed and leave her to grow in the warm sun. She smells fantastic very minty floral almost fruity strong smell. She looks very close to ready as some pistils are turning brown and I start noticing white milky trichomes. I am not sure when to stop feeding her and start flushing will try and figgure it out.

I accidentally topped her 😯😲😧😬 I knew I should have used some string and made a hole in the side of the container when the top shoot started growing near the edge. I should have listened to my intuition. But at least I learned where the boundaries is and that I should take it alot easier on her. I think my problem is that I am a bit inexperienced with training and should take it slower and gentler. I wil be more patient. I also trimmed some fan leaves that were technically touching and laying on the ground. I will now leave her for a day or two before resuming any more training.

@Northern_Ent, Thanks! I had a suspicion I was maybe overdoing it a bit. I will definitely try to ease up with training. 🙂

@DBpF4nZA, the sun is so bright and moves throughout the day so I’m not convinced that much training is needed when growing outdoor. Super important indoors I suppose, but likely not needed outdoor. Two cents. Thanks for the likes on the Pineapple Chunk. I’m super excited for it. 🍍

What dirt are you using? I want to figure out why she is so small. For some reason your week seven looks like my week 2 or 3. I’m in a 2 gallon pot. The final big bud looks beautiful though.
DBpF4nZA
DBpF4nZAcommented5 years ago
@@HiddenColorado, It was a mix of perlite, coco and vermicompost. If I remember correctly I mixed a 1/3 Coco and Vermicompost and Added about 20% perlite to that mix.

@DBpF4nZA hi mate yes do some pruning see above answer to your question for more details 👆
DBpF4nZA
DBpF4nZAcommented6 years ago
@DILLIGAF, Thanks for the advice. I did trim all the fan leaves that touched the growing medium thinking it will be better removing them. It makes sense to allow more airflow to combat rot and diseases that can form from high humidity and contaminants on the surface of the growing medium. I accidentally topped her as well. So hopefully she recovers well. Thanks for the reply and advice it is much appreciated.

Okay, so I am moving each new shoot away to catch some extra sun rays and moving the tips of the shoots downward so she can't send auxins to nodes below to encourage growth. As each new shoot grows longer I try and spread them evenly away from each other. I am starting to wonder if I should just trim some of the fan leaves as they are in the way of some of the new nodes getting proper light exposure. Not sure if this is good practice. If anyone has a opinion on this please share. 😀

Trying LST training. Basically trying with my gut feeling and looking what my previous training did to the plant. I still not sure if I am overdoing it. Tops are getting lighter and yellow so I assume I will see her flower soon.
DBpF4nZA
DBpF4nZAcommentedweek 86 years ago
So I have no experience with LST. I know that auxins are concentrated in the tip of the plant and that it will concentrate the growth there. And by lowering the growing tip the plant will send auxins to other nodes. I can see with experimenting by lowering the growth tip and allowing more light on the nodes that there is growth sprouting and starting to grow upwards. I am just concerned if I am overdoing it at the moment.

One last feeding for the week.
DBpF4nZA
DBpF4nZAcommentedweek 66 years ago
After the flushing of nutrient in the proper PH range and adding some calcium and magnesium, the plant seems to be doing better. The color is looking good the weird almost shocking yellow color on and near the veins is starting to turn green and the leaf growth seems to grow faster now.
DBpF4nZA
DBpF4nZAcommentedweek 66 years ago
I measured the PH of the runoff nutrient and it was in the range of 7. I then measured the PH of my nutrient and noticed it was near 7 as well. Adjusted ph to around 6.5 and watered plant with nutrient until it started draining at the bottom of the container.
DBpF4nZA
DBpF4nZAcommentedweek 56 years ago
Added some extra calcium and magnesium. Increased the feed strength. Used a wire loop to bend the plant to expose the new nodes to more sunlight.
DBpF4nZA
DBpF4nZAcommentedweek 46 years ago
I think starting the grow in winter is severely stunting the progress the plant should be making. But I will push through and see what happens.
the end.
