1st Grow - Northern Lights Auto

DaddyWoofWoof274 First grow - I'm beginning this diary retroactively, but documented everything well since beginning. Total DIY setup to begin: in a 24x36 dishwasher box with only weaker LED grow lights. Stunted growth early on - lights were too far, not strong enough, etc. Really took off a few weeks later when I switched to CFL's

DaddyWoofWoof274 Was starting to learn that lighting just wasn't sufficient; began putting her outside or by window on southeast facing side of house in the mornings

DaddyWoofWoof274 Transplanted into bigger pot this week, and switched to CFL's, things start getting better next week....

DaddyWoofWoof274 Got the lighting, humidity, temperature, etc under control and finally it started to grow. Changes were happening every few hours. One unexpected change was it started to smell already - wasn't expecting that! Then....I overwatered - from here on out will be watering no less than 3 days apart

DaddyWoofWoof274 Finally got it all dried out this week. Used dehumidifiers, fans, aerated the soil by gently using wooden skewers. Also, I stopped taking her out in the morning to get natural sunlight. I wanted to keep things as consistent as possible, and that seems to have stabilized her...learning as we go. Finally, found a reputable hydro store in town and bought some notes, gave a very light half tsp dose.

DaddyWoofWoof274 Really taking off now... starting to drink a lot of water, feeding nutes every other. Took a few clones within the last week as experiments, 2 of 4 doing well, the other 2 were probably too small to begin with. Also ditched the DIY box and got her permanent home 2x2x4 grow tent. Still surprised smell is as strong with 1 flowering plant (I'm also growing another NL auto but it's 2 weeks behind, not flowering yet.
