DR_Che Simple, reliable, the paper towel method just doesn't disappoint with fresh seeds 😊

DR_Che This baby only took 2 days to break ground and has been going strong ever since, getting a good vibe for this seed.
The goal of the run is to maximize the harvest I can produce with the tools at my disposal. I'm working on setting up an automatic water and ambient control via Arduino, so that's also part of the run!
Going with the most natural media possible while maintaining a proper ecosystem. Focusing on feeding the soil this time! The topsoil was treated with beneficial fungi and bacteria by a local producer.
The feed will be mostly based on synthetic nutrients, with a fair bit of AN involved as the grow goes on. I'll try out some other products like Fulvic, Humic Acids, etc, later on.

This is the last week of relative peace, but even then it started pretty rough. I'm an intensive trainer, my goal is to not have a single pop-corn bud without having to do any mid flower lollipoping.
This week I performed a precise topping, and then continued with LST with steel wire, and light defolation.
This plant has such a vigor, I've decided to make it a training challenge to have the shortest possible stem (pre-buds) with an even canopy and no pop-corn buds.
Over this diary my methods my seem extreme, and my plants will likely seem too short, but the chonker stems I'm able to nurture with aggressive training are worth it.
I do keep topping to only 3 point during this diary.

It's going quite strong, one of the most promising I've grown. Just after the final picture I defoliated and set up a trellis net for next week. I decided to remove the Scrog tag, as the bulk of the training has been done via traditional LST and defoliation. The net is mostly a more comfortable continuation of LST with a scrog like plan. However, I wouldn't call this a traditional scrog experience.

DR_Che Sensi Bloom A and B are in g/l as is Voodoo Juice Plus which I bought in solid tablet form
No additional inoculants provided this week
Trillis went up and I started to organize my canopy with it, no more garden wire LST. Defoliation continued as a must. Everything below the net will get chopped, if it hasn't yet.
Going strong! The type of training schedule I have allows me to delay the flowering of my autos greatly, I don't think 4 weeks of veg are that normal for 420 Fast Buds. This week it started to show of course.

DR_Che It's doing great so far!
Just doing LST with the net to organice the canopy, with some few cases of accidental HST (bending). Keeping up with defoliating everything below the net. This task will carry on until the first few days of next week.
Additionally provided: a 2L solution of enzymes (20ml/L) with some molasses. I sprayed the canopy a few times before buds developed with a neem solution.

Basically removing everything below the net and tending to the soil, some light defoliation and branch picking, with some accidental HST. It's doing great honestly, right now it's just left there to do its magic.

DR_Che Flowering going along great. Just doing some defolation and minor branch picking to my liking.
Here I started to notice some white spots on leafs which I believe were just burn spots from my previous neem oil applications. Next week I would find out with a microscope that it was the beginning of a red spider miten invasion. Luckily there is a whole biome down there that keeps the population of each individual bug, however, I still don't like having any leaf eaten.

DR_Che As mentioned on the previous week. I finally found the cause of what I believed were burn spots. Luckily I believed this because of how few leafs were affected. I heavily sprayed the top soil and lower stems, to disuade more spiders from climbing. I removed all affected fan leafs and defoliated a bit more. It honestly looks pretty good, and from what I can see, damage is minimal if present at all.
I'll get an organic spider repellent quite soon, it'll arrive in a few days. It's from a brand I've worked with before and it does wonders, besides being organic, it's not an oil that sticks to leafs, and it should fully evaporate without residue. It's certified for food use up to harvest, I'll apply it 2 weeks before, just to make sure the buds don't become a pleasant spot to stay in.
I knew bugs were a real concern if I dropped in stuff from the outside but I honestly don't think it's that big of an issue. I'm not an expert in living soil, but I feel that expecting no bugs at all is naive. Considering we all get eventual contamination in an sterile grow medium anyways, I can only imagine it'd be foolish not to expect it with the opposite of sterile.
I'm happy because I got what I wanted, a strong fungal growth with high beneficial bacteria presence, I've never gotten this level of soil quality before, and I feel like it'll be noticeable when I taste it.

DR_Che Final week of "strong" / "heavy" water, next week we are starting normal (filtered) water.
Mamboreta M has done an awesome job of suppressing the mitten, no new signs of damage detected after application. I can no longer spot individual insects in the leafs. Soil biology has survived in awesome shape, no impact on the fungi and microbes.
During this week defolation was carried out to allow for proper airflow and light for lower budsites. During the final week the same will be done but as part of my "end of life" protocol, consisting of almost complete defolation by the last 2 days of life.
The quality of the aroma and tact is truly rich and complex, it is obvious to me that this will likely be the best plant I've smoked so far, it's only a matter of knowing if it'll also be the most fruitful.
