Fun_Flower_Picasso My wicking system managed to make it through the week. I was gone, but was showing signs of underwater Ing as soon as I returned from vacation. After inspection, it appears the roots suffocated the medium from the wicking chords which stopped the uptake of water at a substantial enough speed for the plant. I have been top watering since keeping the medium moist And the plants have responded well. Light intensity and nutrients have been ramped so far the plants have responded very well. I will continue to push them on the upper end of safe limits for nutrients and light through to the end of the grow to try to maximize yield. Forbidden Runtz has a garlic type smell, possibly mixed with some BO/armpit. Papaya Cookies is very mild in smell even though it appears more mature so far. Hopefully both continue to thrive under the current conditions.

Fun_Flower_Picasso Day 58
They’re doing well. My space can get hot and humid this time of year so I’m trying to keep some air moving and defoliate. Mango and orange smell from papaya cookies with some dough in the background. Forbidden Runtz started with garlic and B.O. and is turning slightly fruity with a spice background. Looks like they’ve got a few weeks left.

Fun_Flower_Picasso Day 69 from sprout
Took one cola from Papaya Cookies. Got a birthday coming up in 3 ish weeks, so gonna try that piece a little early with my dad. She looks like she will need a couple more weeks to fully bulk, and she’s turning a really pretty red-violet. And who doesn’t love a bit of color. Forbidden Runtz is at least a week behind in development and wants to bush up tight. I’m keeping the air moving so I can do my best to keep rot out of the equation. I also defoliated and spread the branches where possible. The canopy looks beautiful so just gotta keep these ladies happy a bit longer. I am pulling back pretty hard on nitrogen to help lessen any new leaf growth and let the plant take up whatever is left in the Bioflower at this point. They shouldn’t need much more than the trickle in the nutes and whatever is left, they’re quite green and lush so far. Smells are getting fun. Papaya Cookies is definitely owning up to her name, she started Mango became more orange and is settling into a close approximation of Papaya. I get hints of cookie/pastry dough in the exhaust through the carbon filter even occasionally. There is a gunk to it too, maybe overripe fruit going bad? Forbidden Runtz is much more interesting. She started with garlic and not fully body odor but underarm smell. I also has a sharp spice type odor I associate with a specific person which is a weird one. I have smelled some sweetness lat various times with one occasion really reminiscent of purple spree candy. Now it is taking on and earthy musk to which I was not expecting. I will say that while Papaya is a more pleasing to the nose smell I’m way more interested to Try the Runtz with all the kaleidoscope of smells it’s producing. My temps or keeping cooler here near the end to hang on to as many of those terms as possible.

Fun_Flower_Picasso Day 81: papaya cookies is looking very close. Nearly all cloudy trichomes. I have switched to water only and the fade is on. Forbidden Runtz will need more time but I’m not sure how much I can give it since I will need 10-14 days to get it packed in Grove bags before I take a 2 week vacation. If I really need to give it some extra time I could cut it just before I go and hang it in a friend/family member’s dry tent but I’d rather not dump my work on someone else. Papaya smells like sweet overripe tropical fruit and there is a sweet dough smell coming from the exhaust. Runtz smells different; garlic, skunk, pine, spice and sweetness all mixed up. Should be interesting to say the least. This run definitely has me excited about my next tent grow. My first two grows were in a small outdoor greenhouse and this is my first time in a controlled environment. I liked the experience and have plans for more autos since they fit my needs best. If you notice the solo cups I do have 6 photos starting for an outdoor breeding project I’m going to play with on the side. I have some bokashi seeds and a couple stow away I brought back from some beach weed I had on a Mexican vacation. If I get a good female from the Mexico beans I may cross with pollen from one of a few males that my network has kept. We will see which type of pollen will fit best. Enjoy the photo drop!
Cut on day 85 which was early for this one. I should have trained it less so it could finish earlier. I had a hard stop date for this one since I was traveling and needed to be finished in time. The smells in this one throughout the flowering process all over the map and really interesting. I think it will be good even if a bit on the airier side, but if I could have given her some more time I think it could’ve been special. I have another seed to try some other time, fingers crossed for the same pheno when I can give it the time it deserves. 72g flower and 39g trim after drying but they could be trimmed better. This was my first attempt with a bowl trimmer and the airier nature of these buds made the trim job less than ideal. Oh well, growing pains, I use a dry herb vape anyway so a little extra sugar leaf isn’t going to ruin anything. I look forward to the taste I’ll get after cure, I’ll try to update.
Both seeds have officially broken the surface and opened up nicely. Forbidden Runtz was first to emerge, with Papaya Cookies following shortly after — only about half a day behind. At this point both seedlings have fully opened cotyledons and are beginning to push their first true leaves.
The medium was pre-moistened thoroughly and allowed to stabilize before planting, giving the microorganisms time to activate and creating an even moisture profile throughout the pot. A humidity dome was used to maintain a stable microclimate while the seedlings established their initial root systems.
So far, both stems look sturdy with no noticeable stretching, which suggests the light height and intensity are appropriate. Color is a healthy green and development appears synchronized and on track.
@UnorthadoxDude, I’m using ChatGPT as a note taking system and this diary for record keeping. We will see if I keep all the info or if I streamline it later.
