BlossomB Week 1: Tropical Chimera – The Showcase Seedling While others were still struggling with their startup issues, the Tropical Chimera showed from the very beginning what a perfect start looks like. A real picture-perfect seedling! Germination & Performance: The germination rate was also 100% here. By the 3rd day after being planted in the soil, it had already shown itself, quickly, powerfully, and without hesitation. You really can't complain; it's been absolutely vigorous from the first second. Development: The TC has exhibited very even growth. It appears stable, healthy, and very focused on growing as quickly as possible. A true showcase specimen that has caused no problems so far. I'm curious to see if it maintains this clean growth throughout the entire vegetative phase!

BlossomB The TC has so far shown high stress resistance. The new growth is vigorous, and the plant isn't drooping. I assume that as soon as the thrips population is fully under control, it will have a massive growth spurt. The genetics seem very "tough"!

BlossomB If I were to look up "Vigor" in the dictionary, there would probably be a picture of her in there. The Tropical Chimera is an absolute prime example; she grows so symmetrically and flawlessly that you might almost think she was made of plastic.

BlossomB The Perfect Student & My First Topping ​🌿Unstoppable Perfection🌿 The Tropical Chimera has been my absolute model student since day 1. She is the perfect example of a beautiful, perfectly symmetrical, and healthy plant. Honestly: If I didn't know better, I would swear she's an artificial plant – she stands there so flawlessly. She grows, and grows, and grows... simply unstoppable! 🌿​A Heartbreaking Milestone: First Topping🌿 ​This Saturday it happened. Since she is my first photoperiod plant, I also had my "first time" topping her. I must admit: It was incredibly hard for me to "top" my baby. I'm still a bit sad about the removed top... 🌿 ​But the Chimera? She's made of steel! While I'm still mourning, she shows absolutely zero signs of stress. She hasn't drooped for a second, no limp leaves, nothing. She simply ignores the intervention and keeps growing happily as if nothing happened. Incredible vitality! 🌿​Pure Vitality – No Additives🌿 I'm also staying true to my line here: No fertilizer, absolutely nothing. She is so healthy, vibrant, and deep green that she obviously has everything she needs. I would love to just let her keep growing forever and take endless clones of this perfect genetics.

BlossomB 🌿LST & Structure🌿 It's time for a quick update😉 I have to say, she continues to be an absolute role model in the tent. As you can see in the current pictures, I've focused intensely on training. Through consistent LST (Low Stress Training) and the targeted positioning of the shoots, I've achieved a beautiful, even structure (even though she's growing completely symmetrically). 🤭 🌿Nutrient Update🌿 I've started targeted fertilization this week. She's now getting her nutrients according to plan to optimally support leaf and stem growth. 💧Fertilizer: 🌿Canna Terra Vega (2.5 ml/l) 🌿Cannazym (2.5 ml/l)

BlossomB 🌿 Growth & Structure 🌿 The main focus this week was to fill out the flat structure created in week 5. The result is impressive. 🌿 Topping Reaction 🌿 The reaction to the topping on the main stem was excellent. We now have four strong, equal main stems developing symmetrically outward.

BlossomB 🌿Status Update🌿 🔥 Second topping round completed🔥 The Tropical Chimera is turning into a true monster in the tent. This week, I intensified the training: it has now been topped for the second time. All new main shoots were consistently cut off to force the plant into an extremely flat and wide bush shape.

BlossomB 🌿Structure & Training🌿 As you can see in the pictures, I've really "flattened" them out😂 Through intense LST and targeted topping, the apical dominance has been broken, and the side branches are shooting up massively. The stem has already reached an impressive thickness and shows that characteristic, robust texture. The distribution in the tent is now optimal to ensure an even light yield (Canopy) for the upcoming flowering phase. 🌿Root Power🌿 A real highlight this week: The roots are literally shooting out of the medium at the base of the stem! A clear sign of a healthy microclimate and high oxygen availability in the substrate.

BlossomB ☀️Introduction of Flowering (12/12) & The Vacation Experiment☀️ This week marks the most important turning point of the entire grow. Since I was on vacation starting Tuesday, I faced a decision. I opted for a strategic move and set the timer to 12/12 right on the day of departure. The goal of this vacation strategy: 🌿​Heat Protection: Reducing temperatures in the tent, as hot days were ahead. 🌿​Water Conservation: With the shortened light phase, the plant slows down its metabolism and uses significantly less water – ideal when no one is around to water it. The Tropical Chimera has handled this transition fantastically and officially kicked off the flowering stage!

BlossomB 🌿The Tropical Chimera is developing beautifully and perfectly fills the right side of the tent🌿 As can be seen from the front view, it has reached a considerable height due to the stretch and is forming a very even, open canopy. The branching is strong, and thanks to the good light penetration, numerous promising bud sites have formed, which are now ready for proper bud production.

BlossomB 🌿 The Tropical Chimera is absolutely dominating the tent this week! 🌿 It has developed into a massive, vigorous monster and is pushing its tent neighbor aside to secure the best spots right under the lamp. The stretch during the switch to 12/12 was intense, resulting in long, strong branches with excellent node spacing. Flowering is exploding everywhere, and the white hairs are wonderfully visible across the entire canopy. The plant looks extremely healthy with its deep green, vibrant fan leaves.

BlossomB 🌿​Radical Lollipopping:🌿 The lower third of the plant has been completely cleared of leaves and stunted growth. This optimizes air circulation in the critical area directly above the pots and prevents humid air pockets. 🌿​SCROG net🌿 Above the cleaned base, a tight SCROG net creates a perfectly flat canopy. Outliers that wanted to dominate the stretch were consistently trained horizontally under the net, ensuring that each bud site receives the exact same amount of light.

BlossomB 🌿Tropical Chimera 🌿 This lady not only develops a massive size, but she also has an extreme metabolism. She drinks the nutrients like an alcoholic! I can barely keep up with feeding her, but she utilizes every drop perfectly. The deep, vibrant green of the leaves and the sheer energy of the plant show that she simply needs the high nutrient turnover right now to support this mass. Considering I've never handled a photo before this run, everything is just going smoothly. The genetics of Tropical Chimera are extremely hungry, eager to grow, and are already rewarding me with a resinous sight that makes me look forward to the upcoming harvest. If the buds swell in the next few weeks as much as the plant is growing, I’ll soon need a bigger tent!

BlossomB 🌿This week, unfortunately, there was a challenge with the climate values in the tent, which led to a temporary growth halt and some damage. Nevertheless, the genetics of the Tropical Chimera are showing what it's made of. 🌿What happened? The relative humidity (RH) in the tent was too low for an extended period. As a result, the vapor pressure deficit (VPD) increased significantly. To cool itself down, the plant transpired a lot of water, causing too many salts to accumulate in the substrate. But the Chimera has handled it well aside from a few leaves suffering.
